A list of puns related to "List of biblical names starting with J"
3rd kid due soon. Genitals unknown until birth. Siblings are Elliott (girl) and Jack (boy). Last name is two syllables, ends in "man".
While it is easy enough to imagine a general narrative being constructed from fragmentary memory (or just made up) it is much more difficult, to me, to account for the much more specific (and frankly dull) information such as names of the leaders of the tribes as they left Egypt, the precise numbers of people in the tribes, the specific names and sequence of conquered cities and their kings, etc..
Who would make up such stuff and why?
I have a daughter named Acacia after the acacia tree. The tabernacle in the Bible was made from acacia wood, so itβs not too obvious, right? I am hoping to find an M name for my second daughter with a slight biblical note but not Mary, Maria, Martha or Magdeline. I was thinking of Maris, but then when I googled it I forgot that the character Niles from βFrasierβ had an ex-wife by that name. She wasnβt painted in the best light on that show. Any ideas?
Edit: thank you u/inflammammal
So as a Pelicans' fan that might be looking at a Jrue Holiday-Jayson Tatum-Jaylen Brown-Julius Randle-Jahlil Okafor starting five next season after an "AD to Boston" trade, the fact that all 5 of these players have first names that start with 'J' reminded me of this fact.
For the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons, the Saints started 5 offensive lineman whose first name ALL began with 'J'.
LT: Jammal Brown (15S-15S)
LG:Jamar Nesbit (16S-16S)
C: Jeff Faine (16S-14S)
RG:Jahri Evans (16S-16S)
RT: Jon Stinchcomb (16S-16S)
Just thought that was really interesting. Oh, and Faine's two missed games were different from Brown's missed 2007 season.
It really is the off-season. Kind of surprised that this starting 5 didn't include Jermon Bushrod.
Other Players With 'J' First Names EDIT: Other players include: (Games Played- 2006-2007)
Joe Horn (WR) (16S-0)
Josh Bullocks (FS) (16S-14S)
John Carney (K) (16-0)
Jamaal Branch (RB) (1-4)
Jermon Bushrod (T) (0-1)
Josh Cooper (DE) (5/1S-13/2S)
Jamal Jones (WR) (12/1S-0)
Jamie Martin (QB) (16-3)
John Owens (TE) (5-8)
Jay Bellamy (DB) (3S-11/3S)
Jason Craft (DB) (16/6S-16/4S)
Jason David (DB) (0-13/12S)
Josh Savage (DE) (0-1)

Once I heard people hating on people whose names start with J and honestly this is new to me, given my name starts with J too. I wonder what people think of when they hear of a James, or John, Joseph, Joker, Josh... Female names are cute, imo..so youβre safe, I think e.g
Hi!
I've recently started coming out to people close to me as non-binary (agender), and I'm looking for some suggestions with names. I want to keep my initials, so I'm looking for names starting with "J". So far I'vd found Jessie, Justice and Jules, but those don't really click with me. Any other suggestions for non-binary "J" names?
Found a ton of girlβs names I actually like/love but not a single boys name.
So throw at me all the boys names you can that donβt start with J, D, or L. Those are 100% banned for us.

Dustin Pedroia in 2008 breaks the streak.
My husband (half Dutch half Tongan) likes strong names named after strong people. He comes from a big family and they have all had their kids and no one has named a girl after his mom. It bums him out, and wants our first girl named after her... her name is Telakaki (pronounced: Tell-a-cocky). I could nickname her Tele (like telly phone) but idk just ugh. On the other hand I am starting to like the name Holland, for a boy or girl. Itβs my motherβs maiden name and my husband was born in Holland before moving to the states. What do you guys think?
Has there every been such a J heavy team?
Ja Mount
Jae Crowder
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Jonas Valanciunas
Dillon Brooks
Looking for ideas for Jewish boy names starting with G or J - have a few ideas but havenβt seen a lot we like! Would love ideas!!
Specifically, we don't really want a nature name or a celtic or classical name. See, we're having a son, and we both fell head over heels for the name Floki. But we know that's a bit much to use. We love the lightness of it and the trickster connection, but we know it's way too much to use. So we want a name that mimics it. Especially, we consider it a "witchy" name and we want that.
We're open to other norse names, but for the most part we find them unusable. And we don't really like other pagan names; we just don't feel any affinity toward them. But we're both raised Catholic and have a deep love for Christian folklore, and we find biblical names in general more usable than pagan names.
There are plenty of Christian girl names that feel witchy to us, like Jezebel and Bathsheba. We'd like to find the same for a boy.
So we'd like boy names with a witchy vibe, but we'd like them to be Christian in origin if possible and we'd like then to be usable.
Middle name Dean, last name Shaughnessy.
I'm not Jewish, and the area I live in (also the area I grew up in) doesn't have a very large Jewish population, so I don't have a lot of perspective on Jewish names. I recently heard that some people associate the name "Asher" with "old rabbis." Is this a very strong association that most people have, and if so, would I be stepping on toes for using this name?
Also important: the name is for me, and I'm 24 years old, born in '93. I'm a bit worried that I'm too old to fit into the recent boom of Ashers, strengthening the "old rabbi" association. (Although, I did go to high school with a guy named Asher, which was where I first heard it.)
I like the name because it's one of the only tree names (ash tree) that's definitely male but not too masculine or boring. I also like the letter A for some reason. I'm open to any other ideas people have of tree/botany/nature-related names as well, although I will say I don't like the name Alder.
I thought this might be a fun way to start a conversation about not just newer releases, but older and perhaps some forgotten tracks from days gone by. Also, the A-Z of stoner rock in the sidebar is six years old. Today's letter? "J". Post your favourite stoner rock tracks or albums by artists whose name starts with "J".
