Does your world have any wars with "multiple theatres of battle"? Think the World Wars or the Second Punic war

The title is self-explanatory: wars that are fought in multiple theatres (land and sea) or on multiple fronts! I'll go first,

This "war" (really two connected conflicts) is one of the most important historical events in my story and also the setting of a few prequel novellas.

Warning: I admit I kinda went stream of consciousness on this and it is v long and potential convoluted. I apologize in advance.

Background:

These two conflicts occurred roughly 400 years prior to the events of the main story. Up until this point, the Sunshya Empire (kind of Elves) was the dominant force on the content and nearly unmatched in its military might. They had conquered the nascent human settlements to their northwest and much of the Kelahiran Archipelago (home to the Varnshya people) off the eastern coast. Both colonies were held under oppressive rule. The only thing standing in their way was the Orcish clans to the southeast and the independent Kelahiran islands with their budding resistance. Under the leadership of the previous Empress Elina Raho, the Sunshya Empire had reached its greatest extent, and her son Adnan was eager to extend it.

Part One: The War for the Red Valley:

The Orcs exceeded the Sunshya in sheer numbers and could take them in standard conflict. What had held them back before was infighting and dissonance between the clans. Most of their territory was protected from the Sunshya attack by the Crescent Mountains, with the breadbasket Red Valley nestled between the two halves of the range. The turning point in the century-old conflict between these two cultures was the unification of the Orc clans by Halasz Czaba under one banner. Once united, the Orcish clans mounted a full attack over the Northern half of the Crescent Mountains.

While this was happening the Sunshya forces were dealing with a problematic resistance in Kelahira. The Varnshya fought tooth and nail to protect their home against the occupation and were able to prevent the Sunshya from overtaking the main island. They couldn't quite push the military out completely though. The Sunshya still needed to station a large number of soldiers on the archipelago to keep the peace on the occupied islands. The occupation of Kelahira was relatively unpopular back home, as it was a seemingly fruitless endeavor that was costing many Sunshya lives. Elina who launched the invasion, and subsequently her son who continued the occupation, were unpopular as well.

The Orcish attack took the d

How did the Roman Republic survive during the Second Punic war? It lost hundreds of thousands of men - how did harvests still come in and material goods get produced? If the Romans were buying grain and goods, how did the state maintain its income having lost a large portion of the tax base?

I was reading about the amazingly named Boii tribe today on Wikipedia and saw that the Boiis killed 25,000 Roman soldiers shortly after Cannae. It's absolutely mind-blowing that Rome could lose enough men to make a modern state shudder and still continue its war-effort.

[DBWI] What if Hannibal had not been able to capture the city of Rome during the Second Punic War?

(Based on and inspired by this post. If you do not know what a Double Blind What-If (DBWI) is, please read this first.)

The Second Punic War was maybe the biggest "showdown" between two major powers in the ancient mediterranean world. Remarkably it was fought out between two large republics that had coexisted peacefully for centuries before and had become stronger and stronger.

In the end it was legendary Hannibal that masterminded the decisive campaign against the Romans, during which he defeated several legions across Italy before successfully turning Rome's former allies against her and actually sieging and occupying the city with their help.

I think we all do know what happened next: The peace treaty kept the Roman Republic in existence but it was firmly controlled by almighty Carthage and it never really recovered from the defeat. Now it would take several centuries before larger empires like the ones in the East came into existence in Western Europe since Carthage continued to rely on its soft power and refrained from actually expanding her territory – but what do you think would have happened had the Romans won?

I know, given their devastating defeats like the one at Cannae it's unlikely they would have recovered enough for them to retaliate and actually win the war but what do you think they would have done to Carthage? And what about themselves? The Republic had expanded immensely in the decades before the war but the Romans had to rely on their Italic allies. Do you think they would have tried to extend control on Hispania or maybe even Greece as well?

What if during the final Punic wars, there was a mass Exodus of carthagenians to the Atlantic ocean?

In this scenario the people of Carthage flee the wrath of the Romans during the final Punic war and head West of the Mediterranean sea. The Carthagenians settle the islands of Macronesia in the Atlantic ocean and also maintain trade with various people of West Africa. They initially settle the Canary islands and Madeira, then they eventually expand to Cape Verde and the Azores in a somewhat similar fashion as the Polynesian expansion. There was OTL evidence that the Carthagenians had sailed to the coast of West Africa and had some trade relations with the ancient peoples there. I need some help fleshing out details and plausibility of how the culture of these "New Carthagenians" evolves in the Atlantic. When and how would they would reach the Americas.

Slaves are most known for upsetting the structure of the Roman economy, producing poor people who suddenly wanted the rights of the army and political participation, and made populism a big thing, with the rise of the Latifundia. How much of the population had to be slaves before and after in order for this shift to be so strong?

[CONFLICT] The War of Newer Zealand Part VI - The Second Battle of Line 3 - 5

So far, the CTF and Bob Semple have achieved nothing, and it looks like the Cult of the Bridge is going to steamroll the Cult of the GLOW at Reactor Site Leviathan before the CTF can even break through. But that's not what's important. What's important is the only thing that ever has been important. The only myth that actually matters. This is, of course, talking about Prime Minister of the Nation of Newer Zealand, his Ghostliness, Bob Semple. Commanding from his great metal shell, he has a vision! His vision is to take over City 3 from the Cult of the Bloody Tongue, cutting off their troop supply and giving the upper hand to Bob Semple, and effectively eliminating both the Cult of the GLOW and the CTF from the war. This would be a great boon to the PM if he can pull it off. He tried before, and kind of miraculously failed. But he did manage to gain 1/3 of the length so this time he only has to push twice to make it to the City. He is confident he will win against the crazy cultists! But while Bob Semple knows that something was happening at the city and that it can't be good, he isn't sure what's waiting for him over there.

He is ready! The time is now!

The following troops are stationed along Line 3 - 5:

CTF Forces Amount Notes
Fanatics 9,000 Foot Soldiers
Berserkers 3,000 Unarmed
Ghosts 500 Stealth Units
Artillery Trains 6 (4 cars each) Artillery

[BATTLE] See an Empire Rise: The Battle of Seattle, the March to the Mississippi, and the Second American Civil War

>”As the Civil War proceeded, an odd reversal of roles would begin to become clear. The Republic growing ever stronger, and the Federals becoming ever more desperate as they were hemmed in to the borders of the old Confederacy. A more modern innovation, however, was the various attempts at international intervention. Early interventions were limited to electronic measures and financial support for fear of Republican retaliation, a fear that would prove to be entirely justified.

War Between the States: The Federals and the Republic at War

###September 15th, 2040: Unfriendly Skies

As the combatants of the Second American Civil War prepared for a new round of offensives, the American Republic elected to once again open with an air offensive conducted in overwhelming force. Massive interdiction operations were launched in tandem with wide-area electronic warfare operations even as strike packages were launched to cripple the USN’s East Coast logistics complex. With the range of the Republican area denial complex constantly growing, the USN would elect to withdraw from the conflict entirely. Assets already at sea were able to withdraw without issue, making for Japan in the west and Crete in the east, but surviving assets in port at Norfolk would have to fight their way out first. The decision to cut and run would, however, make running the Republican A2/AD gauntlet significantly less dangerous; assets positioned to intercept coastal attacks were caught off guard when the USN simply departed. With patrol assets out of position when the USN force in Norfolk made a break for it, the escaping task force was able to gain quite a lot of distance before targeting assets were vectored in on its position. Once at sea, however, in an unfortunately familiar turn of events it became apparent that not everyone was accounted for. USS Kearsarge, USS Iwo Jima, USS New York, and USS Fort McHenry- in order, two of the USN’s remaining Wasp-class LHDs, one San Antonio-class LPD, and one of the last Whidbey Island-class LSDs- disappeared somewhere between harbor and the open sea. Unsurprisingly, the vessels reappeared at the Republic’s reappropriated Newport naval base about a week later. Similar issues ensued with the three remaining SSBNs under Federal control in the Pacific; that is, only one arrived in Yokosuka. The crew turned several mutineers over to t

#day1 I decided to Use Mel Robbins’ 5-Second Rule at the break of dawn. Step1 is a war. To win this war, I need to win daily small battles. I realise that daily battle is NOT ME vs STEP1 but rather ME vs MY MIND, habits and actions .

I am a procrastinator and I realise that my chronic procrastination has derailed my milestones and dreams. I intend to rewire myself for less overthinking and more action. This is my small success story of the today. Today morning when I woke up I decided to Use Mel Robbins’ 5-Second Rule. The 5-second rule states: β€œIf you have an impulse to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill the idea.” So I didn't snooze alarm, I woke up, switched on the laptop rightaway and opened qbank. I decided to do qbank and jumped right in it as the first thing. I did use the bathroom for a minute but other than that I spent the first 90 minutes of this morning doing questions. Otherwise other than today I usually spend first 1-2 hours of morning VERY inefficiently . #SayNoToSelfSabotage
