The L-8 blimp. On August 16, 1942, the L-8 set off on a routine patrol from San Francisco. Several hours later, it crashed in Daly City, with no trace of its two-man crew. Went to the RAAFA heritage museum in Bull Creek today, wasn't disappointed! Great access to many historical aircraft (Vietnam era Huey, my favorite!) and tons of aviation memorabilia. The military section was fantastic and smells old, hard to get that these days! Volunteer codgers were full of info!
