A list of puns related to "List of Upstart Crow episodes"
Description: Will is just finishing writing A Midsummer Night's Dream, a tale of love potions, enchantment and a wood full of fairies. He is very pleased with how realistic it is as he based it on his own experience. But Burbage and the other actors tell him it lacks a little comedy, like say a character with a funny name or a big visual joke. Meanwhile back in Will's lodgings where on earth is his servant Bottom going to put that donkey head?

If you remember this past Thursday, I mentioned that there was some promoted content that didn't arrive. That missing content was the first 2 series of Upstart Crow and its 2017 Christmas special A Christmas Crow. This period sitcom stars David Mitchell as William Shakespeare, chronicling his attempts to balance being a family man with his writing. In fact, each regular episode is named after one of his iconic plays. Here is the synopsis for both the series and 2017 special:
>Ben Elton's sitcom stars David Mitchell as William Shakespeare - genius, family man and highly-strung baldy-boots. He struggles to be a dad, a husband, a commuter and the greatest literary genius of all time.
Description: Will Shakespeare has been working on his masterpiece. His friends tell him it is his greatest comedy yet, but Will insists that Hamlet isn't actually meant to be funny. In the meantime, Greene has hit on an ingenious new way to destroy Will's reputation by excluding him from his high-brow literary set, and Marlowe's reputation is in such a bad way that he could really do with being dead for a bit. Only Will's dad John is pleased because now that Will has bought him a coat of arms he is officially a gentleman, even if none of his behaviour is in any way gentlemanly.

Description: Will takes it badly when everybody tells him his new play about two sets of identical twins separated at birth and given the same names is rather far-fetched until he hits on a sure fire way to stop any audience minding when the plot gets really ridiculous β make it a musical. In fact, he's going to make it the first ever musical. And to really guarantee a hit he wants to use the songs of Thomas Morley, a rocking, rolling, madrigal-composing, tax-avoiding Tudor music legend.

For some reason, Kate is less than impressed, and back in Stratford his wife Anne isnβt convinced either. Will thinks the solution is to try out a bit of 'taming' on his very stroppy teenage daughter Susannah. But it turns out what works in a play doesnβt always work out quite so well when it comes to real life.

Who of you has watched Upstart Crow, with David Mitchell?
A term everyone seems to use to address each other - Sort of in the same fashion we would use "Sir" informally (Possibly the words are related?) - is Cira / Sira*. Can anyone tell me what this word is?
*Pronounced as such; Si (Like the start of the word "sink") ra (Soft r - As in the very beginning of "recollect").
I am trying to make a theory of what Qrow does and doesn't know based off the clips where Qrow is there in person and when a crow is there.
Iβm making a tier list based on your opinion. For simplicity, I will use turtle as a base pet and try to get a sense of pet values based on everyoneβs trading experience. So, based on your experience, how many turtles is a crow worth? (Iβll make a tier list based on you answers on the polls I will make so your participation will be of great help to all.)
Itβs not a musical, but does anyone know if there are any recordings of Upstart Crow from the West End?
Looking for shows (or films) which portay historical events/periods but show the characters as having dry humor, and being like normal people today (if that makes sense)
Eg. In upstart crow, where he complains about the carriage journeys the same way people today complain about train journeys
Just looking to move most of this stuff for higher end wants or binders. Cards will be shipped by Thursday/Friday of this week. Trying to make trade values at least $25 for ship :)
Also have a set of NM Blue-Eyes (JUMP-EN068) if anyone's interested. Can upload pics if requested.
Looking for the following:
Highly recommended BBC show Upstart Crow.
If you're in the UK I have it on good authority that you can stream it free on the Tea & Biscuits Front Garden Pip Pip Wot Wot player or somesuch. I had to buy it on Prime Video.
Even so, it's super funny, especially if you labored as a theatre nerd as I did.
Here's a trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwnMhSRZk5A
Description: Will has to confront a demon from his past when his former schoolmaster comes to stay uninvited, much to the disgust of his wife Anne. Meanwhile Marlowe is on the hunt for Roman Catholic spies - but he seems to be rather more interested in ale and pies.
