I took my license in Mumbai almost a decade ago but the test was a joke to say the least. I also got a motorcycle with bike license even though I didn't apply for it.
I really wasn't fit to drive on the road for at least 2 months after I got the license and I had to practice a lot.
Yesterday, I was talking to my sister who's living in the UK and she mentioned her taking a driving test and failing miserably because the driving tests there are serious business. The instructor told her she had failed the test in the first five minutes because she didn't properly "observe" at a junction, which is a serious fault and leads to immediate failure of the driving test. Moreover the test itself takes about 30-45 minutes and they go around the town.
And I thought that was fantastic because it breeds a pool of good, competent and attentive drivers, unlike majority of the drivers here in India.
So I was wondering what the situation is like in Kerala. Is it any better than rest of the country or do they give you the license if you just drive along the H track in all five gears and then reverse?
I renewed my dad's DL online and the status is shown as 'Printing of DL in smart card'. If it's so, can we apply for a duplicate DL and get the card type DL?

Hi, can we make a list of films that depict life in various districts of Kerala in some detail? Here's some that I know of. Some of the films themselves are not that great, so please suggest better ones-- old, new, doesn't matter. EDIT: Let's not reduce it to merely shooting locations. Let's see if we can find films that prioritise dialects and where the regional specificities are essential to the film.

Making a list of famous book publishers in Kerala. Confused a bit as i have no clue on the scale of production done by each publisher. Fully aware that DC books is one of the largest publisher in Kerala but not really sure about the rest! Hoping to find some help here!
