Here are their career numbers thus far:
Kevin Durant - 27.0 PPG on 61.3% True Shooting
James Harden - 24.3 PPG on 60.9% True Shooting
Insert generic "Imagine if they played on the same team" joke here
This is looking at players who were drafted by their current team and have stayed there their entire career, players who were drafted by a team but traded to a new team before playing their first game and subsequently staying with their new team their whole career so far, and undrafted players whos entire NBA career has been with one team (G-League affiliate with different team won't count, only looking at NBA games). The point is to get an idea of which teams have done a better job than others at either drafting really great players or developing a core with their coaching staff.

Most of the other all time 49er greats either weren't drafted by us (Steve Young) or ended up going to other teams later in their career (Montana, Rice).
So, is Staley the greatest 49ers lifer ever?
I was just thinking the other day that a lot of the time the way we perceive certain players really comes down to what they were able to accomplish as a team. While some individuals are great enough to carry a team in the end basketball is a team sport so it can't always come down to this.
What I'm thinking is that there should be two all time NBA rankings.
The first one is for greatest careers. The key thing here about greatest careers is that it factors in accolades and championship success. This would benefit someone like Bill Russell who was a key player on 11 championship teams. However his ability might not rank him as highly despite him still being top 10 alltime.
The second one is for greatest ability/peak. The key thing here about greatest ability/peak is that it factors in simply the individual players ability. This could highly rank players such as Tracy McGrady who were very skilled but were stuck on bad teams.
What do you think about this? Additionally which players do you reckon would benefit the most from each specific types of rankings?
Both current and past.
Choose on CURRENT NBA player who is a budding star that you believe will be the face of a franchise. I was inspired by this post onΒ r/nfl: https://np.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/bag1k3/youre_a_gm_and_have_to_pick_one_player_to_build_a/
We know coaches like Phil Jackson and Steve Kerr have had won rings as players and coaches, but who would else would make the team? *Or your starting 5
I saw this question on Twitter. I'd probably say Zach Randolph or Luis Scola.
The next closest to a losing record on the list is Bob McAdoo, who went 32-31 (.508) in his 63 career games where he scored at least 40 points.
The best winning percentage among this group goes to Larry Bird, who in 52 total games with 40+ points went an astounding 46-6 (.885) including a perfect 5-0 in the playoffs.
The most games with 40+ points goes to Wilt Chamberlain, who had 284 career games and a 171-113 record (.602).
Here the full list of players with at least 40 games with 40+ points, sorted by team winning percentage in those games.

International competition is a liability because of the testing for PEDs. it makes the scheduling and timing of cycles more difficult to plan for their regular, money-making, NBA seasons PED testing.
The NBA barely tests players. The NBA tests fringe or old role players to make an example out of them or to distance themselves from them if they feel like they're using illicit drugs and are falling out in a bad way.
PEDs are common in the world of professional sports. this is the elephant in the room
I know it's still possible that Verlander/Posey will end their career with another club, but I'm talking about players that it would be weird to see in another jersey, not necessarily just the best young talent (e.g. Strasburg/Harper) but the hometown favorites.
For me, I hope Ian Desmond (drafted by the Expos 3rd round in '04 out of HS) continues the trajectory he's been on and becomes the Nats' cornerstone SS. I'm also hoping Jordan Zimmermann (2nd round from the illustrious U. of Wisconsin at Stevens Point) develops/continues to be the Nats version of Matt Cain. I also hope the Ross Detwiler story continues to play out well.
As for other teams around the league, I've always loved Zobrist and hope he can stay in TB. Similarly I've always loved Stanton and hope he gets the hell out of Miami before he's old enough to rent a car.
Tweet:
> Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr. (20 years, 89 days) is the youngest NBA player in more than a decade to score 40 points.
> - Bucks' Brandon Jennings (20 years, 52 days) had 55 on Nov. 14, 2009. > - JJJ had career-high 43 points and franchise record-tying 9 three-pointers vs. Bucks
What a game by JJJ tonight! I know heβs struggled staying on the court, due to foul trouble mostly, but to see a game lIke this has me excited for his future. Reminded me of his first summer league went he went crazy hot shooting Threes.
The future is bright, Grizzlies!

The Warriors have 2 more MVPs, 1 more All-Star, 1 more DPOY, and 1 more All-Defensive
In the hit 1996 blockbuster movie Space Jam, Micheal Jordan saves basketball, humanity, and cartoonity, after defeating the Monstars in the GGOAT (Greatest Game of All Time). In the 90's basketball was only played with 5 players per roster (this was why Jordan and Pippen were able to dominate the 90's btw). Because of these outdated rules the Monstars only had 5 players on their roster. Here is a table showing the comparison of the two teams.
Warriors | MVP | All-NBA | All-Stars | DPOY | All-Defensive |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Steph Curry | 2 | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 |
Klay Thompson | 0 | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
Kevin Durant | 1 | 8 | 9 | 0 | 0 |
Draymond Green | 0 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 4 |
DeMarcus Cousins | 0 | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
Totals | 3 | 19 | 25 | 1 | 4 |
Monstars | MVP | All-NBA | All-Stars | DPOY | All-Defensive |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Muggsy Bogues | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Larry Johnson | 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Charles Barkley | 1 | 11 | 11 | 0 | 0 |
Patrick Ewing | 0 | 7 | 11 | 0 | 3 |
Shawn Bradley | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Totals | 1 | 19 | 24 | 0 | 3 |
Also here is how the Warriors compare to the Redeem team. This list only includes what they had earned up until the 2008 Olympics, so any accolades from 2009 onward are not included.
Redeem Team | MVP | All-NBA | All-Stars | DPOY | All-Defensive |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Dwyane Wade | 0 | 3 | 4 | 0 | 1 |
Kobe Bryant | 1 | 10 | 10 | 0 | 8 |
LeBron James | 0 | 4 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
Carmelo Anthony | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Dwight Howard | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 1 |
Total | 1 | 21 | 22 | 0 | 10 |
Also, consider what brand they would fit with best.
NBA players that currently have a sig include Lebron, Harden, Curry, Klay, KD, Kyrie, PG, Russ, Dame, Drose, Tony Parker, Lonzo, Dwade, CP3, Dwight, Rondo and the GOAT Matthew Dellavadova.
I know there are some like George Hill with some random Asian brand, but nobody even knows they exist so I won't count them.
You can find the whole list in the link below:

Mel Daniels (the last one on that list) was inducted for his time as a player in the ABA, not the NBA. He only played 11 games in the NBA, where he scored 39 points.
Since 47 is a little cherry-picked, I'll point out that he's also scored 50+ 3 times in 6 games, and again only 37 other players have that many 50-point games in their career.
Inspired by realizing Steph Curry has been with the Warriors since he was drafted. Who are some current players who have been in the league a while and have stayed with one team? Who currently do you think will stay with 1 team until theyβre done? Who are some in history? What player has the longest career with only 1 team his entire career?
