A list of puns related to "List of My Favorite Murder episodes"
Just because I want to post my list:
1: Extreme Aggressor
2: Revelations/Legacy
3: 4 Way Tie: In Name and Blood/Seven Seconds/About Face/Damaged (my all-time favorite season)
4: 52 Pickup/Bloodline
5: Mosley Lane
6: JJ (HM: Out of the Light/Supply & Demand)
7: True Genius
8: Restoration
9: Route 66
10: Mr. Scratch/Nelson's Sparrow
11: Entropy (definitely the last strong season)
12: Red Light (or maybe the first 2 episodes with Hotch)
13: The Capilanos if I had to pick one and solely because MGG was the director
14: Nothing-this season was hot trash
15: And In The End (after some terrible couple of seasons, it was a mercifully decent end)
Yes I cheat and throw some ties in there. I think there are quite a few episodes in each of the first 11 seasons that could be HMs too, but that could go on a while. Please feel free to join in the comments!
The girl Iβm hooking up with and I were both half asleep this morning after a particularly vigorous round in bed. All of a sudden thereβs a voice in my living room that shouldnβt be there and around the corner comes a woman talking to my cats. We all just stared for a moment...us naked and in a tangle. Turns out my it was the exterminator coming around for the monthly treatment. After a moment we all erupted in apologies and the woman kept repeating she knocked as she ran out of the apartment. We were half mortified, half relieved we werenβt murdered. The exterminator sure has a story to tell. SSDGM, yβall.

Hi guys, I'm new to enjoying this podcast but I just don't want to hear about murder. I like the court stuff though. Any episode recommendations?
I already listened to the ep about the hepatitis C outbreak in the hospital. Wonderin if there's more
The lovely fans of the My Favorite Murder podcast (murderinos) have compiled a huge list of all things true crime. Iβm sure some of you are aware of this already, but just in case youβre not:
My Favorite Murder is a true crime comedy podcast, and today they did a pretty good job of covering the Mark Hoffman forgery/bombings. Just thought I'd post to either discuss the episode or reccommend to anyone who's interested!
I listened to the Lawrence Singleton one (#18), and thought it was good, but the next random few I listened to were more scattered and kind of all over the place. What are the better episodes for someone who likes LPOtL and prefers a more or less linear storytelling approach?
#554 Edutainment Squad w/ Thomas Middleditch and Horatio Sanz.
Don't think we'll ever hear back from Lyle Cummings and Peppers McGilly.
Title speaks for itself: What is your favorite non-murder mystery and why?
What mysteries are worthy of being included in a list of the greatest mysteries of all time? Of course mysteries should fit the sub, so no murder mysteries.
After watching the What if...? finale, I was thinking about what some episodes would be for season 2, season 3, and beyond. There are an infinite number of scenarios, but right now, I just thought up 85. But, I'm not going to type out 85 scenarios, so here are my favorites. Some of them are in extensive detail, and some of them are very brief.
The first one contains spoilers for Shang-Chi!
What if... Wenwu went after the Infinity Stones?
After the death of his wife, Wenwu has put on the Ten Rings again and is back to being his old conqueror self. Now, he's looking for a way to bring his wife back, and he learns of ancient stones that, when combined, can give the wielder unimaginable power. So, with him, the Ten Rings, and his army, Wenwu goes throughout the stars, fighting people like the Ancient One, Thanos, the Nova Corp, etc.
What if... Abomination joined the Avengers?
During the creation of the Avengers, SHIELD originally wanted Abomination on the team. So, what if that happened? Of course, they would still need a scientist to help them track the Tesseract, so Bruce Banner is still there. Abomination would join the Avengers in the Battle of New York, bonding with his teammates and learning to become a true hero.
What if... Jimmy Woo was trapped in the Hex?
Monica Rambeau has just arrived to examine the newly created Hex, and Jimmy Woo is waiting for her. But, instead of her getting trapped inside, it's him. Monica has to now team up with Darcy to find out a way to bring Jimmy back while he's inside Wanda and Vision's sitcom life getting a little too into character.
What if... Korg printed enough pamphlets?
In this reality, Korg's failed revolution was a success, and he and other members of Sakaar overturned the Grandmaster's rule, and have turned Sakaar into party city. When Thor is kicked out of the Bi-Frost by Hela, he needs to combat the will to party in order to get back to Asgard.
What if... Hulk defeated Thanos?
What if in the beginning of Infinity War, Hulk got the one-up on Thanos, and successfully beat him up? Valkyrie would probably let the now surviving Loki and Heimdall along his Banner and Thor onto her escape ship, and all of them would go to Earth in order to warn the Avengers of Thanos' invasion. Loki still has the Tesseract, meaning that now the Space Stone, Time Stone, and Mind Stone are all on Earth, so the wounded Thanos and his children head straight to Earth, Thanos now coming along. While Iron

Now, some very good runner ups:
Death Wish - A Q wishes to die. Janeway must decide if allowing an omnipotent being to commit suicide is his rightful choice; or is preventing him from doing so a violation of the Prime Directive. A very good commentary on the ethics of euthanasia.
Unity - What happens when Borg are freed from the collective and attempt to rebuild their society? Have they regained their individuality or are they more dependent on the collective than they thought?
Distant Origin - Also one of my favorites. Dinosaurs were on Earth for over a 100 million years. Humans for just 4 million. Look we did in that time span. Is it all the unbelievable that another species might have developed intelligence on Earth before we did and they just left?
Scorpion - This could have been Voyager's movie if it ever got one. The introduction of Species 8472 shakes things up in our galaxy, forcing Voyager and the Borg to forge an uneasy alliance or risk being completely destroyed. Is the enemy of my enemy really my friend?
Scientific Method - Remember how humans always did scientific experiments on animals? How do you think they felt? Well, now you might get a little perspective.
Mortal Coil - Another one dealing with death. People fear death because it means an end to this life. Some find solace that they will live again in the afterlife. But what if the peace you have in that belief is completely stolen from you. Do you still see death as a transition or do you fear the void again? How will this new knowledge effect how you live your life.
I'm going to try and shorten this up a bit now.
The Omega Directive - A quest for perfection

I consider all of these movies must watch.
Action
Slow burn

Historical

Let me know what you think and if there are any that I missed!
I didn't see this posted anywhere here, but in case you missed it: My Favorite Murder released a 2018 episode last week with Chuck telling his "hometown murder" at the end of the show.
Just a warning: it's not their best live episode sound-wise. Also it's a murder podcast so....it's a real bummer of a story. He talks about the Murder of Meredith Emerson.
I usually like getting started on a podcast with the first episode and just listening through the entire backlog from there, but MFM episode 1 didnβt really do it for me. However I hear nothing but good things about it so Iβm curious if I just got a bad impression of it. Any particular episodes that you guys think are a good place to start? Thanks!
On the evening of January 21, 1962, authorities in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania arrived at the burning home of 39-year old Edward Howard Maps, who lived there with his 22-year old wife, Christine, and their four-month old daughter, Julie Louise. A series of small fires had been started throughout the house, but most of them burned out because the windows were shut and the fires couldnβt get enough oxygen. In the kitchen, the oven door was open, and the oven was set to 450 degrees and pumping gas into the house. Christine was discovered unconscious on the kitchen floor, as she had been bludgeoned with a blunt object which was never found. Julie Louise was found in an adjacent room, dead of smoke inhalation. Edward Maps was missing. When Christine died at the hospital a few hours later, a warrant was issued for Edwardβs arrest and he was soon added to the FBIβs Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
Maps was known as a colourful, eccentric beatnik artist who mostly lived off a trust fund and never held down a regular steady job. It was suspected that he couldnβt handle the responsibility of being a husband and father anymore and decided to murder his family, so he could take off and start over. However, the crime took the whole community by surprise as they considered Edward to be a kind man who adored his family. Even though Maps had developed some mental issues and was diagnosed with schizophrenia shortly after serving with the Marines in World War II, he showed no propensity towards violence. Indeed, there were a lot of things about the crime which didnβt make sense, such asβ¦
-earlier that night, the entire Maps family had visited a neighbour and appeared to be in great spirits; somehow, within the span of just over an hour, Edward suddenly decided to murder his family, set fire to his house and run away
-both of the familyβs vehicles were left behind in the garage. There were no reports of any buses, taxis or hitchhikers in the area that night, nor any sightings of Maps leaving town, so what did he use for transportation?
-Edwardβs wallet, passport and bank books were left behind and the houseβs front door was locked from the outside
-a plate was found next to Julia which was stained with animal blood and some items in the house had animal fur on them; this evidence made no sense, as the Maps family did not own any pets
-days later, a local woman received a threatening phone call from a man calling himself βJohn Birchβ who stated: βYouβre nextβ; while police
