In the wake of John Hurt's death... I figure i should post my favorite of his performances... "old man Peanut" in "44 Inch Chest"...
The movie is thoroughly misogynistic and pretty domestic violencey... but i do feel it is an appropriate depiction of how blokes feel when they get their hearts broke..... I won't go into the artistic ramifications of the film, but old man peanut was an old cunt who hated anyone, which includes broads, who got out of line... the fact he could play such an ugly "outdated" character and still be amazing is beyond me..
