A list of puns related to "List of Italian chicken breeds"
Hello! I am fairly new to this chicken thing and looking for some advice before I order more pullets for next year.
I live in Canada, in a region where temperatures range from -30Β°C (-22Β°F) to 30Β°C (86Β°F). I currently have 3 silkies (2 hens, 1 cockerel) and 2 Orpingtons (both pullets), who all get along really well, with the silkies at the top of the pecking order.
I am looking to add a few more pullets next spring, and I have narrowed it down to marans or wyandottes. Does anyone have experience with these breeds that can offer some insight? My chickens are strictly pets, so I am looking for a breed that is at least somewhat friendly and generally healthy with a fairly long lifespan.
ETA: I'm also open to other breed suggestions, those two breeds are just easily accessible to me.
Oops, wrong sub...
If ISA Browns (300-350 eggs per year) are better layers than Rhode Island Reds (250-300), why are they never on lists on the best breeds of chickens and aren't usually popular with the BYC community? Considering that ISA Browns come from a cross of RIR and other breeds.
