After the explosion of Getter Rays caused by Shin Dragon, Ryoma Nagare was transported across space and time and after a while, eventually woke up on the Moon. Needing a way to get back to Earth to stop the Invaders, Ryoma salvaged and repaired an old Getter Robo left behind on the Moon during a previous battle with the Invaders. Becoming charred after going through re-entry, the Black Getter was thus officially born. Used by Ryoma in order to fight off the Invaders, it remained in use until he came into contact with his old teammates. Eventually going on the offensive against Shin Dragon, the Black Getter met its end after Shin Dragon absorbed its power.

Physicals

Strength:

• Pulls an Invader out of its shell.

• Tears apart an Invader.

• Dashes a short distance and hits a building with a Getter Tomahawk hard enough to crack it.

• Punches the shit out of some buildings.

• Throws an Invader off of its body hard enough to break it apart.

• Hits an Invader and sends it flying into a building.

• Knocks an Invader onto a building and stomps on its head.

Speed

• Flies away at relatively quick speeds.

• Flies into the ground at high speeds and cracks it.

• Throws another Getter Tomahawk to stop another Invader from attacking the Shin Getter.

• Flies to Earth and survives atmospheric re-entry. Also worth noting it flew from the Moon to the Earth in an unspecified period of time. Doubles as a durability feat.

• Out-speeds some Invaders and nearly keeps up with the Shin Getter who was flying fast enough that windows cracked.

• Another sizable distance is crossed relatively quickly while flying.

Overview: Somehow all ending up in Manhattan, Getter Robo, Isaac Clarke, and the Apostles of the Stars come face to face with each other. The Apostles and Isaac decide the Getter to be the biggest threat and team-up to take it down. Can they do it?

Round 1: All in-character. Both sides are trying to avoid too many casualties. Isaac is equipped with the Plasma Cutter, Contact Beam, Gravitor Accelerator, and the Detonator. Getter can not evolve.

Round 2: All in-character. Both sides no longer care about casualties. Isaac has the same loadout as stated previously. Getter can not evolve.

Round 3: Same as previously but bloodlusted and Getter is allowed to evolve.

Bonus Round: Getter becomes Getter Emperor fully while Isaac and the Apostles get help from their respective universes. Can the team win?

The Will of the Universe

Long ago the first lifeforms in the universe that would eventually be called the Creators would evolve themselves into mental stars that would give off the energy that would be come to known as Getter Rays. This network formed between them would eventually in the distant future cause the birth of the Will of the Universe. It was originally supposed to come into existence long after humanity had traveled the stars with the help of Getter Emperor but due to the Saotome Institute and Getter team performing simulations to predict the future it would be awoken in the present era to wipe out humanity before they could conquer the cosmos. It would face off against a Getter team formed from the simulated worlds before perishing at their hands and causing the birth of a new universe.

The Nature of Getter Rays: Getter Rays are a phenomenal cosmic power source that rains down from space upon the Earth and is more powerful, efficient, and clean than nuclear energy. It causes many strange effects and serves as a powerful energy source for humanity. The Getter Rays have a will of their own and can directly speak to individuals and cause Getter Robos to move on their own. They seem connected to humanity above all other species and appear to be driving them towards an ultimate goal. An RT for the Getter Rays themselves will be out eventually to elaborate further on them.

Note: The Will of the Universe possibly might not have been at its peak power at it had been awoken under imperfect circumstances.

Note 2: Some of the feats take place within a void inside of the Will of the Universe and involve a miniature version of itself so feats inside the void and involving the mini version will be marked accordingly.

• (Dimensions) Before physically manifesting exists in the interstice between dimensions. Note that dimensions in this series refers to universes.
• (Creators) The Creators are the ones who created the Getter Rays and intelligent life in the universe. They are also capable of obtaining information on the future.
• (Creators) Can create copies of previous Getter Robo enemies as well as Getter Emperor.

I want to read this manga because it's a Shonen mecha story, unlike its anime counterpart which is a repetitive kids show. I also read the first volume of Getter Robo Devolution, which I'm aware that it's a different continuity. But do I have to read all the other manga in the Getter Robo Chronology to understand Go?

Getter Robo

>With three hearts as one! With six hearts as one! With eight billion hearts as one! Cry out! Chaaaaaange! Getteeeeeeeeeeeeeer!

Developed by Professor Saotome after coming into contact with the mysterious Fragment of Emperor, Getter Robo was designed via data from parallel worlds and made to harness Getter Rays. A machine capable of taking three distinct forms through the variable combination of the Getter Machines that make up its body, it would protect humanity from the Devolutionary bodies: mysterious creatures revealed to be bastardizations of Getters from parallel worlds that contained genetic dead ends.

The world in which the Getter was created would be revealed to be a simulation within the head of a Getter in the real world, where after Ryoma Nagare would sacrifice the Getter, the real Getter would evolve into a duplicate of it while bringing the Getter team along with it. There, they would face down the Will of the Universe who wished to prevent humans from evolving to the point they could bring about the true Getter Emperor.

As with other Getters, the Getter Robo's true power is drawn out by having three pilots although someone with enough will of their own can draw it out by themselves. This Getter holds a dark secret as well as through the destruction and parallelization of simulated realities it has become the Getter Emperor of its world.

If I buy a series I want the complete collection, sequels, spinoffs, all of it. I’m just wondering, does getter robo only have 5 volumes and that’s it?

Where can I find all 50 episodes of Getter Robo Go with English subs? Anime Suge only has the first nine episodes.

Series Synopsis: The Saotome Getter Ray Research Institute has completed a robot for space exploration, the Getter Robo. However, the Dinosaur Empire had risen from the depths of the Earth to retake the surface with their Mechasaurus robots. The power source of the Getter Robo, the mysterious Getter Rays are the only means able to combat them. The Empire's ruler Emperor Gore gives the order to prevent development of this energy source. So Dr. Saotome recruits three students from Asama High School: soccer captain Ryoma Nagare, loner Hayato Jin, and Judo captain Musashi Tomoe all of whom have a strong sense of justice and the ability to pilot the three high powered jets needed to form the Getter Robo and cooperate in the battle against him.

These character IDs can be acquired by using a NFC capable Android phone and this app and looking at Pages 21 and 22 (each has a series of 8 numbers).

I am compiling the list here. Feel free to check this against any Amiibo you have and verify that I have them all correct!

Edit: New data news!

Chibi Robo has one of the amiibo numbers between the standard Mario Bros series and gold/silver Marios! The only currently announced amiibo that could take the other spot would be Mega Yarn Yoshi or Shovel Knight! Does this perhaps tell us how long the idea for these amiibo have been in development?

What is Getter Robo? (Do NOT skip this. Without the context you'll probably be confused with Neo Getter Robo)

Quick rundown. Getter Robo is a mecha manga series that introduced and popularised the idea of the combining robot. The Getter Robos are made of 3 seperate machines, which combine into a different mecha depending on the configuration. They combine by shouting 'CHANGE GETTAH ___' in the most hotblooded way possible. For plot summaries of the manga, view the guide below. Just remember when reading it that the manga is indeed pretty old, so there's a lot of stuff that might seem a bit outdated or cliche, probably because it introduced those tropes.

Forgive the fact that I am literally using pictures of toys here, but there's barely any pictures online.

• Getter 1 - You're typical all purpose mecha. Uses sharp weapons, including tomohawks, those spiky things on it's arms and it's cape (not pictured). Signature move: GETTAH BEAMU (Getter Beam, a beam fires out of a hole in Getter 1's chest, or sometimes from it's head depending on what getter 1 it is.)
  Also appears as: Shin Getter 1, Getter Dragon, Shin Dragon and Neo Getter 1.

• Getter 2 - DRILLS, DRILLS AND MORE DRILLS. This guy just can't get enough of his drills. Usually tall and slender, Getter 2's main weapons are it's drill hand and it's claw. This guy is fast, too. Signature move: 'DORIRU HURICAAAAAANU' (Drill Hurricane - The drill spins at extremely high speeds, creating a tornado extending forward from the tip. Enemies caught in the winds are immobilized.) Also appears as Shin Getter 2, Getter Liger, Shin Liger and Neo Getter 2.

As it doesn't really have a story, as it first appears in Omega, they could go wild with past Getter stuff and mash it together.
