List of Elemental Gelade characters Puns

I remember reading the series a while back and completed it but the ending felt like some really rushed Gainax level ridiculousness. One minute Cou and Ren are hanging off a cliff of a collapsing continent and then Ren lets go and then it's like "hey here's Cisqua doing a new adventure and she has some photo on this flip phone!" What happened? I don't get it and the author's note afterward wasn't even translated! They probably don't even answer any of those plot holes in the sequel I bet...

I remember people talked about this when the game first came out so this might be old news, but the premise of the Xenoblade 2 and Elemental Gelade are eerily similar. (It’s been months since I last read Gelade and I only got to the first 2 or 3 chapters so I might get some things wrong.)

The protagonists of Gelade is a Sky Pirate named Cloud armed with a grappling hook and attitude. He’s pretty much the youngest member of his company but this rather accomplished. After a very special haul, he starts touching the loot without this company’s permission. He finds a casket holding a girl who apparently a Edel Raid, beings who can become living weapons when partnered with humans (Which are commonplace in this world). The Edel Raid, named Reverie, tells him that she wants to travel to the Legendary land known as Edel Garden. The story is then their journey to find the garden as other try to kidnap the Reverie as she is apparently ancient and powerful Edel Raid Known as a shichikouhouji.

Really, replace “Cloud” with “Rex”, “Sky Pirate” with “Salavager”, “Edel Raid” with “Blade”, “Reverie” with “Pyra” “Edel Garden” with “Elysium”, “Shichikouhouji” with “Aegis”, and you have a plot summary of Xenoblade 2.

If any of you have read the Manga (or watched the anime), can you say that the connections continue, or are they really just surface level similarities?

It's been a while since the first time I tried to put something like this together, and with a bunch of new characters I thought we might be able to nail down some of these elemental themes. As before, these are just my ideas and opinions, and I'd love to hear what other people think about these things. Several of my own thoughts did change after this discussion last time, and in particular I think the new anemo characters have helped to give some shape to that theme.

Anyways, let me know what ya'll think!

For example, a pyro character that is themed with using lava instead of fire.

When this character apply pyro, the pyro element will act differently than your normal pyro (because it is lava, maybe make it a golden coloured pyro sign?)

1 - Double effectiveness against water shield, and interaction with wet will only remove half of the pyro status (So in this case, fire > water).

2 - When interact with geo, inflict burning instead (because lava melt rocks).

3 - Cause crystalise when interact with electro. (a downside weakness).

a geo character that uses sand rather than rocks.

1 - Interact with hydro cause petrify (which is basically the same as freeze)

2 - Interact with anemo cause a geo swirl (sandstorm), which could interact with Kazuha to increase geo damage.

After the amazing support when I originally shared my list I said that I would keep it up to date with the latest units & done so, but today - in large part due to not much new in Japan in terms of units, aside from Shisui already covered here - I've finally been able to do some major improvements, namely the following:

#1. Characters in the list now have Icons

It's a very small thing, sure, but it's much more appealing than staring at a white page with only names on it. Let me know if you'd rather they were smaller/bigger, I think right now they look about right (I don't want the list to scroll forever, currently you can see about 10 characters on a regular monitor).

#2. Added AoE and Single Target Rank columns for each Element

Depending on your criteria, the overall "Rank" within an Element can vary greatly - that's why I decided to add these two columns and since I'm trying to avoid cluttering the page with too much unnecessary information, I decided not to add similar ones for Healing and other roles.

#3. Added a "How To Get" column for each character

This is to let newer players know where they can be obtained from (not specific Banner / Impact names, just think of it as a Free/not Free column). In that regard, minor color coding is also applied - the white/gray ones are free characters.

#4. Characters were cut down to 20 per Element for a total of 100

This was done to force me to really think whether a character even deserves to be listed and whether they are made redundant by the addition of new ones, who do their role better. Three quick things:

• This doesn't mean characters not on the list are "unusable", just not strong enough to earn a slot in the current state of the game according to my criteria.

• It's possible a character you consider important could be missing from their respective list, so let me know if you think so & why in the comments below.

• Keep in mind moving forward I will keep the list down to 20 characters per Element, so just saying "add Bob Uchiha" without saying who (with a similar role) needs to be removed won't make sense for the current model.

#5. Ranks were slightly changed due to

With the elemental banners arriving tomorrow on Global, I just made a quick list with all the summonable units.

The best banner is up to you. You need to see what units you need most and what dupes you want to get.

Just by the numbers, in my opinion Heart and Wisdom are the best ones, and Wisdom gets on top because the number of top tier units there.

All the banners comes with a 50 pearls multi-summon that guarantees a 6 star rarity character (one time only for each).

 

##[Heart] (/hrt): Hinata, Raikage, OG Naruto, Tsunade, Kid Kakashi, Hiruzen, Temari, Sasuke (Kirin), Deidara.

Total: 9 units, 1 Original 6* (Naruto), no mediocre/bad unit, 2 top tiers units (Kirin Sasuke and Tsunade). Temari is top tier in PC.

Chance to get a decent 6*: 88,8% (8/9)

(I don’t know if Darui is in this banner. If he is, then you got 10 units and 90% chance to get a decent one). Edit: Darui is in the banner.

 

##[Skill] (/skl): Kakashi, Guy, OG Sasuke, Shippuden Sasuke, Neji, Shippuden Sakura, Yamato, Obito, Ohnoki, Sasori.

Total: 10 units, 1 Original 6* (Sasuke), 1 bad unit (Kakashi), 2 top tier units (Shippuden Sasuke and Sasori). Guy, Ohnoki and Neji are good ones too.

Chance to get a decent 6*: 80% (8/10) – but 90% if you consider OG Sasuke as a decent unit (I do)

(Don’t know if KCM Naruto is in this banner. If he is, then you get 11 units and 81,8% chance to get a decent unit). Edit: KCM Naruto is in the banner

 

##[Body] (/bod): Hidan, RM Naruto, Taka Sasuke, Ino, Rin, Tenten, Haku. Total: 7 units, no original 6 star, 1 bad unit (Haku), 1 top tier unit (Rin). Taka Sasuke, Ino and Tenten are pretty good too, Hidan is god with dupes.

Chance to get a decent 6*: 85,7 % (6/7)

 

##[Bravery] (/brv): SM Naruto, Choji, Chidori Sasuke, OG Gaara, Konan, OG Kakashi, Kakuzu, Mei. Total: 8 units, 2 original 6* (Kakashi and Gaara), 1 kind of bad unit (Sasuke without dupes), 2 top tier units (Konan and SM Naruto – with dupes). Mei and Kakuzu are good units too.

Chance to get a decent 6*: 62,5% (5/8)

 

##[Wisdom] (/wis): Shikamaru, Kakashi, Karin, Jiraiya, Konohamaru, Shippuden Naruto, Susanoo Sasuke. Total: 7 units, no OG 6 star,1 bad unit (Shikamaru without dupes), 3 top tier units (Sasuke, Naruto and Kakashi). Konohamaru is top tier with dupes too.

Chance to get a decent 6*: 85,7 % (6/7)

Hello everyone!

With 630 temporary stamina potions to burn through, I shifted focus from farming maps on 1-2-12N to gathering much needed elemental weapons. I've been impressed by how much better certain styles perform with the appropriate weapon (Xmas S Flurry, S Mariah, etc.), but was struggling to quickly identify all the weapon/element combos that I might need.

Given that many of the most comprehensive resources are in Japanese or feature content that isn't available for non-Japan players, I decided to put together an "easy-to-read" list of currently available styles that offer skills that benefit from Elemental Weapons. Because this list is primarily compiled from my own pulls, I know that there are styles that have been excluded—please let me know what I've missed in the comments so I can update this list!

Alternatively, let me know if there is a pre-existing resource that can easily answer this question! (Zodi's RSRS Compendium has been a great resource, but I didn't find it to be helpful in answering this particular question).

Like me, you might have been intimidated when Nature Spirits gives the party a lantern of elemental tracking, necessitating that the DM know when the party is in 300' of an elemental. Luckily, there aren't very many of them in the adventure. I think I've got all of them in the list below:

List of Elementals

Water Weird in U7.

Auril’s second and third forms.

Ice mephits, encountered in I1, G6, H5, during Auril’s boss fight, outside the Black Cabin and as wandering encounters.

Invisible stalker in J1(summoned), in G21, and encountered as a result of the Elusive Paramour secret.

Avarice’s gargoyles, those in Y2, and those encountered as wandering encounters in Ythryn.

Edit: And of course, Chwingas, found in the Nature Spirits quest, in an encounter before the Verbeeg Lair in The Mead Must Flow, as random encounters in the Lonelywood forest and on the tundra, in Tinjong's cave, where the players may be taken after escaping the Dark Duchess, and at the entrance to Wyrmdoom Crag.

I was wondering if the DEVS have a plan on a new characters that would have an elemental skill or elemental burst that could summon a live unit.

The following characters already done this but they are stationary :

1. Amber - Explosive puppet
2. Xiangling - Gubao
3. Fischl - Oz

As per new character maybe...

• A dendro that could summon plants that shoot spikes like whoppers that move around.
• A geo that could summon stone golem that would look like the ruin guard with different move set and has a 1/2 health of a mitachurl
• An anemo the could summon atronach which can absorb elements and turn to that element and shoot or punch enchantment with the absorbed element.

Characters like Banshee, Psylocke, Forge, the New Mutants, Emma Frost, and several others I decided not to do because they hadn’t either made as many appearances or they had not been prominent enough.

I’ll probably do a few more polls tomorrow on Toad, Pyro, and Blob because I completely forgot to do them, but after that I’ll post the results about where the votes went.
