Stephen Walker (16A 5G 1A). Loaned in from Middlesbrough in Season 1, where he performed well off the bench. Returned to Middlesborough, where he spent three years as a sub, before signing for Sporting KC for 3m in 2024.
Tyler Walker (43A 30G 13A). Loaned from Forest in S1, where he finished top scorer in the league. Returned to Forest and still there, having scored over 100 goals for them in his career so far
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy (42A 25G 8A). Loaned in from Aston Villa in S2, where he was Crewe's top goal scorer. Loaned out to Portsmouth and then Ipswich in the next two years, before returning to Villa. Plays a sub behind their brilliant front three of Malen, Martinelli and Fati who took them to 6th in the Prem.
Elliot List (125A 66G 37A). Signed from Stevenage for 600k in 2021. Finished top scorer at the club for two successive seasons, before being sold for 7.5m in January 2024. List scored 20 goals in the Eredivise last year, as well as 4 goals in the Europa League as Feyenoord reached the quarter finals.

Owen Robinson (3A 0G 0A). The young winger was sold in 2025 for 2.25m to Sunderland. He scored 10 goals in his only season there, before signing for Brighton where he has so far struggled.
Callum Evans (37A 4G 7A). Another young winger sold for 2.25m, Evans made a handful of appearances over several seasons at Crewe before moving north to join Celtic. He impressed on the wing at Celtic, scoring 15 and getting 20 assists during his stay there. He moved to Ligue Une side Nimes for 9m this summer
Callum Ainley (69A 8G 6A). One of the original set of Crewe youngsters, Ainleyβs lack of pace and shooting meant he never fit into the side, and he left on a free in 2021. He moved to Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan for 1.5m in 2023, where he remains
Nejc Delamea (38A 20G 8A). After finishing as top scorer two seasons ago, Delamea moved to Sporting CP for a club record 20m. He scored 28 goals in all competitions, playing just behind Matheus Cunha, including one in the Champions League. He appears the most promising of all of Creweβs former players.

It was univerally agreed after last weekend's horror show that we needed new recruits and we got one in the shape of the block off the old chip, Elliot Lee. To date he has played just one match for Luton (in the League Cup), so his fitness might not be up to par. However we desperately need some midfield creativity and energy so I'd expect him to slot in the attacking midfield role vacated by JFC with possibly Albie Morgan dopping back into a deeper midfied role or maybe being dropped altogether. With a few days to go before the transfter window shuts I hope a few new faces will be joining Elliot and on that note there were rumours of a bid being put in for Kyle Dempsey, which Gillingham rejected.
We saw last week a few signs of what Charlie Kirk could do and he'll have the incentive of playing against his old club, hopefully he'll have passed on a few pointers on Crewe's strengths and weaknesses. Besides JFC, we will be missing Alex Gilbey, Ben Purrington and to no-one's surprise, Ronnie Schwartz. Sean Clare who was out injured last week is described as needing his fitness to be checked. Things are gradually coming together and we just need to be patient to see what happens over the next few days. Meanwhile the lack of a left-back in Purrington's absence means that Chris Gunter will fill in there, a job he hasn't done too convincingly.
Crewe have made a poor start to the season with an opening draw and then three defeats and sit one place below us and one place off the foot of the table.
Thought for the day: Is it too early in the season to have a six pointer?
