A list of puns related to "Life Stinks"
by Winston Chol-Schagrin
SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. β Chuck McGinley, a chemical engineer, stepped out of his car, eyed the smokestack of an animal processing plant rising above the treetops, and inhaled deeply. At first he smelled nothing except the faint, sweet fragrance of the nearby trees.
Suddenly, the wind picked up. βWe have an oh-my-God smell!β Mr. McGinley exclaimed.
Immediately one of his colleagues pressed a Nasal Ranger to his nose. The 14-inch-long smell-measuring device, which looks like a cross between a radar gun and a bugle, is one of Mr. McGinleyβs most significant inventions.
Using terms from one of Mr. McGinleyβs other standard tools, an odor wheel, a chart akin to an artistβs color wheel that he has been fine-tuning for decades, the team described the stink. βSour,β one person said. βDecay, with possibly some petroleum,β said another.
Then, as quickly as it had arrived, the smell disappeared. βThe wind decided it was going to gift us only a short sniff,β Mr. McGinley said. βTo tease us.β....

As someone who writes marketing copy for a living it makes me sad that I will never, ever top that line.
Just got my Light Phone 2 and Iove everything about it except the battery life. I can't make it close to 24 hours without needing to charge it and using any of the features (directions, hot spot) drains it very fast.
I've had the phone on for 2 hours today, made a 15 min phone call and used the wifi hot spot for 20 mins and the battery is down to 67%.
The other day I went for a 15 min walk and tested out the Directions app and saw the battery drain almost 15% in that time.
One of the biggest selling points of this phone was the long battery life so this is a bummer.
But is this normal? Are there some settings I can change? Or maybe I have a bad battery?
We all already know that the world and life is naturally unfair. So the fact that people were given an advantage over others through having good looks which then leads to a whole range of opportunities is just maddening. Why couldn't it be normal for everyone to be good looking so then we only have to deal with preferences when trying to date. Although on second thought, I guess if everyone were good looking then no one would be. Because being attractive is defined by the non-attractive......
And now I just feel so lonely and left behind. I just hope to one day find an actual βbest friendβ that will view me the same way, and will want to keep the relationship growing. Iβm tired of always being the one keeping it going. Sorry for the venting, just needed it to get out there.
My half brother has been missing for 2 weeks his name is Caleb and I donβt know him the best. I was adopted when I was 5 and didnβt knew he existed until 5 years ago. The beginning of this year we connected over Facebook and I got to meet him and weβve been close since. He has mental heath issues that make things tough but I still love my brother. Heβs been missing 2 weeks yesterday and heβs not on his meds so who knows how he is, itβs been really hard into of everything else going on in my life, I just hope they find him π’
Not on TSPDT master list; Director: Mel Brooks; Writer: Mel Brooks, Rudy DeLuca, Ron Clark, Steve Haberman; Watched April 17th on Amazon Prime IMDB
91 minutes. Mel Brooks directed 11 movies. 10 of them I would recommend to anyone at any time as having at least a few funny moments if not being classic comedies. Rather than focus too much on how #11 was a miss, I would like to take this time to say Iβm appreciative for what Director Brooks did with his material. He was ahead of his time in pushing discussion around race, his deep intellect was shown off with some of his brilliant satire and I think he is underrated for his ability to balance the chaos that existed in the confines of his films with well-placed silence.
Quickly on Life Stinks, itβs basically A Christmas Carol with a touch of Sullivanβs Travels mixed in and a dab of Brewsterβs Millions. It is sweet at times, and feels like Director and Writer Brooks made this as a personal story about the importance of having a roof over your head and a meal every day. I do not think it was executed well, but after so many films where the person of Mel Brooks was hidden behind jokes and gags, I did find it charming to see him so clearly lay out his position on treating everyone, homeless or otherwise, with respect and dignity.
And whether or not his final film worked, I would watch 10 more from him like this just to support him after the high levels of joy he brought me and my family. Many memories of my dad excited to show my Blazing Saddles and bonding moments that came from his story of seeing Young Frankenstein in theaters. This to me is the legacy of Mel Brooks. His films are funny, but I think their legacy will be that he created moments, across generations, where people could laugh together. And for that act of Tikkun Olam Iβll always be grateful.
