A list of puns related to "Leader of Government Business"
Hey everyone! Back again this time with Novosibirsk. It is not as in-depth as other, more so focusing on just how to get very leader, but hope you like it nonetheless. As always, if anything looks wrong or you think should be clarified, kindly let me know so I can change it. And yes, since the history of Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk are tied so closely, they share the same intro:
Mikhail Kalininβs tenure as head of the Soviet Union was short-lived. Installed after the Fall of Moscow and death of Joseph Stalin, Kalinin died not long after in 1946. Through political wrangling, Lavrentiy Beria was able to oust his replacement and take over the remnants of the Soviet Union.
What followed were massive purges that fractured the Union; some of the opposition fled east and formed a Soviet Republic at Novosibirsk, while Beria and the rest of the Soviet remnants were left at Perm. Led by Premier, and General-Secretary Andrei Zhdanov, the Novosibirsk government was, though nominally headed by Andrei Zhdanov, controlled behind the scenes by a Troika consisting of Georgy Zhukov, Nikita Khrushchev and Nikolai Voznesensky. After Zhukov and his supporters split to form a rival government in the east over the hardline Stalinist policies of Zhdanov, known as Zhdanovism, a Dvoyka of Khrushchev and Voznesensky were left. Khrushchev leads the Majority faction (Rev. Communist) of the Party, while the ruling Minority faction (Marxist-Leninist) is led by Zhdanov. By 1952, with Zhdanovβs health in continued decline, thanks in no small part to his severe drinking, a new General-Secretary may soon be taking overβ¦
As a new year dawns, a new session of the Politburo (also known as the Presidium) will be called by Zhdanov, though he is too sick to physically attend. If he feels well enough, he can give a speech over the radio (in which he will appoint Voznesensky Premier), or he can stay home and rest.
Zhdanov death chain and sucessors
A week after his speech/rest, Zhdanov will be found dead in office. Deputy Premier Aleksandr Scherbakov will be installed as his successor. Like Zhdanov, Scherbakov is a very heavy drinker. It catches up to him not a week later, dying of a heart attack at his

Now that we are approaching a few months in to this crisis, it seems to me there is an element of cognitive dissonance around what to do regarding re-opening or "return to normal".
First the facts, it seems to me, are:
It has a moderately high mortality rate compared to other illnesses. The risk is real, and this has proven resoundingly to be nothing like the flu.
No one has definitive medical data regarding re-infection, possibility of vaccines in the near future, links to childrens illnesses, etc. There are still MANY unknowns.
Generally, the case rate and associated mortality numbers continue to climb rapidly, except in a very few geographical areas.
So, that being said, I have watched Trudeau state that we should be cautious with re-opening. Then we have Quebec re-opening schools, and I am right now watching a press conference with Doug Ford stating that some businesses should be allowed to re-open "when ready".
So my main concerns are: If it wasnt safe to go out when there were 10 cases in Ontario, why is it safer now with thousands and deaths all over?
Why do we have such wishy washy statements? Saying things like businesses should open "when they are ready"... what does that mean? Why is our Federal level government saying to be very conservative with re-opening, yet our provincial and some municipal governments are just plowing ahead?
I'm just very shaken with the lack of direction i'm seeing here, and I am so afraid that we are just throwing gas into the fire.
Personally, I'm going to make the calls for my family. No plans to go back to office work, or send my kids to school any time soon, no matter what our "leadership" says.
I know none of this is entirely original thought, but I wanted to hear others opinions on this stuff. I feel like we are being railroaded back to "normal life" right in the middle of a very dangerous situation.
Representatives of Business New Zealand meet with Toastinrussian and LeChevalierMal-Fait in the Grand Hall for some light refreshments. Toast mingles briefly with the attendees discussing the Capital Gains Tax and community work. He then takes the stage to make his speech while attendees sit at their tables.
>Ladies and Gentleman. Thank you all for coming to this Breakfast today. I hope that through this dual forum which Forwards! If hosting weβll be able to come together. Weβll act, to form a strategy through which we can address this Capital Gains Crisis. > >The Forum is a partnership between the Forwards, Business New Zealand and New Zealand Community leaders, such as iwi, Councillors and community group leaders. As representatives, individuals and business groups alike we aim to bring you together to support New Zealand businesses and workers to meet the challenges and take the opportunities presented in a rapidly changing economy. The Forum provides a place for to discuss this issue and come to a consensus through which we can affect the Government's policy for the benefit of all New Zealanders. > >We live in a period of significant change in which major developments will have impacts on our economy and our jobs, now and for decades to come. These developments include digitalisation, automisation, and the transition to a low-emissions economy. However now we face a new change, one that is moving rapidly towards our economy. The Capital Gains Tax. > >Both businesses and community groups are vital stakeholders on this issue. Businesses will undoubtedly suffer as a result of the unnianced blanket Capital Gains tax of the Government. There is also no doubt in my mind that the community will suffer. The community will see an increase in rents and may see job losses as firms collapse under the pressure. Furthermore, any such tax that does not take into account Te Tiriti will be a clear violation of its principles. > > We need to address the glaring failures with the Capital Gains Tax, that much is clear. What isn't clear are your views on how this tax is going to affect you and your community or business. I want to hear your perspectives, I want to hear what alternatives you propose to get the funding where it needs to go. > >I look forward to hearing and learning from all of you as I go around the room today. I hope that you can learn from each other and think meaningfully about this capital gains tax and its effects
