This would be just such an epic decision. It would be surprising and unprecedented to have a teenage girl Wolverine, but meanwhile it would be appropriate. Keen would get a deserved follow up to the excellent Logan, maybe she even picks up where she left off in the film--where Hugh Jackman's Wolvy passed away--as a mutant now with battle experience under her belt. The young mutants she came across off-screen might be additional X-Men.
Now that we can cross universes with Spiderman villains and get Sony's Doc Oc, I believe Laura would be legal fair game, right? Doesn't Disney own 20th Century Fox & have all the Fox movies on Disney+?
While the Big Two in general don't have a great track record developing younger characters who aren't part of the "classic" lineups, Marvel lags quite a bit behind DC, and the X-Men Office is particularly bad. Marvel actually has an official policy that X-Teens like the Academy X characters (who've all been in the books for nearly 20 years!) aren't allowed to "age up" because it makes the O5 look too old.
However Laura in particular is suffering. She's one of five X-Men who have demonstrated they can support a book on their own (the others? Logan, Cable, Gambit, and Dazzler). Not even characters like Rogue or Storm have been able to sustain a book themselves. And yet she hasn't been allowed to play a significant role in an event since Second Coming. If she's in an event, it's as panel filler or for a token line of dialogue. Even worse, she's consistently written out of character because writers simply haven't bothered to do the research.
But the single biggest hurdle to Laura actually getting to do anything of meaning is Logan.
Even when he was dead and Laura first took on the Wolverine mantle, she ended up playing second fiddle to an AU Logan, who got to be on THREE team books at a time that Laura was relegated to Hopeless' miserable shipping fic (and then she didn't have a team book AT ALL). In every event, it was Old Man Logan who got to do the important stuff.
I'm increasingly of the opinion that Laura's only hope to have a meaningful role in the books going forward is NOT going to be with the X-Men, and that she (and frankly, ALL of the Academy X generation) would be better off if the Avengers Office would take them away from the X-Office.

I do not follow the X books that much but noticed both X-23 and Logan are in their Wolverine outfits now. I think X-23 stopped for a while and now she’s back in it?
