Gaijin Please: Sa'ar 4-class missile boat
The Sa'ar 4 or Reshef-class missile boats were a series of missile boats built based on Israeli Navy designs grounded in accumulated experience derived in the operation of \"Cherbourg\" (Sa'arΒ 1, Sa'arΒ 2, and Sa'ar 3) classes. Thirteen were built at the Israel Shipyards, ten for the Israeli Navy and three for the South African Navy. Another six were built for the South African Navy in South Africa with Israeli assistance.
Specifications
Displacement
- 415 tons
- 450 tons full loaded
Length 58Β m (190Β ft)
Beam 7.62Β m (25.0Β ft)
Draught 2.4Β m (7.9Β ft)
Propulsion
- 4 MTU 16V 538 diesel engines,
- 4 shafts, total of 12,800Β hp (9,500Β kW)
Speed 34 knots (63Β km/h; 39Β mph)
Armament
- 2 Γ OTO Melara 76 mm naval gun
- 2 Γ Oerlikon 20 mm cannon
Crew: 45
Where this would go
Bringing South Africa into WT Naval, the Sa'ar 4 is armed with two 76mm OTO Melara's and 2 20mil's, this ship is a heavy hitter. Despite the description, in the outfit listed, it carries more guns and no missiles. It pays for its powerful weapons with poor mobility for a smaller ship. It's survivability is higher than others however, with 45 crew, which partially makes up for the poor mobility. Considering all this, I would place it at 3.7-4.0 after the HMS Peacock.
