So I’m watching season 9 right now, just finished season 8. With Carlin’s wedding being directly after Josie’s, it is so obnoxious and so obvious how much more Kelly cares about Carlin.
All throughout Josie’s wedding planning, Kelly didn’t seem overly interested, and didn’t care much about her dress, her venue, anything. Less than a season later, she is OBSESSED with Carlin’s entire wedding planning process. She’s there for every single conversation about it, she’s fawning over Evan being an amazing husband, she tells Carlin that her dress is the prettiest of all the girls’ dresses (no I’m not kidding, I rewound because I didn’t believe what I heard), and on the wedding day she says it was the most beautiful Bates wedding that had ever been thrown. Now I’m sure all these words hurt some for all the married girls, but Josie JUST got married, so I’d think it’d hurt a little more for her.
Now, Josie is pregnant, and so is Whitney and Erin. Three sisters pregnant together. Kelly doesn’t seem to care about that. Josie has her baby. The second Carlin announces she’s pregnant, Kelly’s like, “Three sisters pregnant at the same time!!! Oh my goodness!!! This is so exciting for them, what great memories!!!”
Now there’s always been theories that Carlin and Lawson are Kelly’s favorites because their personalities are the biggest (most obnoxious, in my opinion). But I can’t imagine being Josie and having a sister doing everything on my heels, and my mother fawning all over everything she does, that I just did! It’s probably just my style, but I align more with Josie; I thought Josie’s dress was prettier, her wedding was hands down the most beautiful, and I like her name choice for Willow. While it was beautiful, Carlin’s wedding seemed way over the top for the frugal Bates (which felt like a jab as well; spending that much money on one kid and not the rest of them), and I just find Carlin insufferable, lol.
I don’t know. Any thoughts? Does anyone else feel for Josie a little bit here?

Apparently you need more than a tweet so, Kelly Carlin is a writer and actress whose dad George played Rufus in the first two Bill & Teds. A really cool way to let his legacy live on twelve years after he passed on and hopefully the movie is worthy of that legacy.
Does anyone follow her on twitter? She is as left as they come. Her twitter handle is Kelly “JUST WEAR A FUCKING MASK” Carlin and she has posted links to donate to the Charles Booker who is running against Mitch McConnell.
Would Rubin even have the balls to have her on again? Like pretty much every human alive, we know she is much smarter than him. It would also make him look really bad since he has tried to pretend Carlin would have a major problem with SJW's now and she would set him straight on that account. (He would make jokes about him, but 95% of his jokes would be aimed at the stupidity of modern conservatives)
Imagine just being around her and all they ever want to talk about is her dad.

I thought it sucked that paul was late bc of the car service but over all it was a great show again doug is more at ease and over all entertaining but loved listening to Kelly talk about her dad Rip George carlin <3
I will name the obvious:
Any scenes with Lawson attempting to sing.
Nathan pitching a fit about Tori’s hair.
Tori, Carlin, Katie, and Kelly badgering about possible engagements.
Tori being rude and awkward during the whole wedding planning and bridal shower.
And, Erin announcing her pregnancy at Carlin’s wedding.
These are just a few that I chose. Please feel free to comment about what you thought to be cringey moments in the show.
My guesses are: Lawson, Nathan, Alyssa, Carlin, and Josie. Possibly Zach, Katie, and Trace as well. I don’t know about the younger kids.
I know most of them have mentioned that they loved the way they were raised and that they wouldn’t change a thing. However, I think that the kids that I listed above secretly wish that they had had different and more normal lives and they just give this answer to win their parents approval and also to keep the show from looking flawed.
Thoughts?
I find the Bates accents so interesting, especially how they differ between the family members. Kelly seems to have a stronger southern accent than Gil, and some of the kids have more pronounced accents than others (eg Carlin vs Michaella). I wonder how a homeschooled family ended up with such a variety of speech patterns 🤔

Kelli Jo is technically the third business owner of BSB right? She bought out Erin’s share when Erin wanted out. But Kelli Jo didn’t attend the fancy business dinner with other owners Whitney and Carlin. Concrete evidence Kelli Jo only bought out Erin to keep the peace?
After watching Carlin and Evans new vlog I wouldn’t be surprised if they stopped at two kids. Obviously they may go on to having many more which is highly likely but when Carlin said she was hoping to feel more like herself after having this baby it really struck me that she may not want to go through pregnancy again. Evan actually seems like a caring husband who is concerned about his wife’s feelings and I think he is noticing the toll that pregnancy is taking on Carlin. I know these guys are apart of a culture that encourages you to have as many children as possible and this may not even occur to them as an option. It makes you appreciate how hard it must be for these women whose only purpose in life is to be a wife and mother and they never get a chance to discover who they are first.

I can't with these two.
I have a high tolerance for fundie nonsense. I can watch me a Jill Rodrigues video start to finish. Camera shaking as Jill showcases her breathy, wide-eyed Rodlets with some weirdass fiddle music in the background? No problem. Kelly Havens pivoting on some rock and calling it magic? Yas, please.
But I can't make it through a Carlin and Evan Stewart video. I have never seen two people with less to say so pleased at the sound of their own voices. I'm pretty sure neither of these two have had an original thought in their life, but look how proud they are to announce to the world that y'all - did you know Oliver is like so popular these days? And look how Evan can say "and Drew" and point out how that sounds like "Andrew"!

Looks like Katie is getting yet another visitor! This has to be some sort of record. First Addie and Ellie, then Nathan and Esther, then Jackson, and now her best friend (never seen them together, but her name is Caitlin apparently). Poor Travis doesn't seem to get a moment alone with his new wife. If that was me I'd start to develop a complex about whether or not she finds me boring as a husband.
Who do we think will be visiting next? I think the top contenders are Kelly Jo and/or Gil, Carlin, or Alyssa. My money's on Carlin or Kelly
What do you think their reactions are?
I definitely think that Lawson, Tiffany, Carlin, and possibly Esther and Katie are emotional and upset about it.
Gil and Kelly are probably not too pleased and also maybe nervous.
I think that the others don’t really care unless they are nervous about what is going to be uncovered.
I wonder what are their thoughts on Josh being guilty.
