A list of puns related to "Kathy McCarty"
Austin music legend Kathy McCarty (Glass Eye, Buffalo Gals, Monikker) is releasing her legendary album of songs by the Legendary Daniel Johnston, Dead Dog's Eyeball on Vinyl if she can get this Kickstarter project off the ground. 15 days to go. Half way funded: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deaddogseyeball/dead-dogs-eyeball-songs-of-daniel-johnston-on-vinyl/description This classic album is produced by Brian Beattie, also from Glass Eye, a long-time collaborator with Daniel Johnston. These are the best covers of Daniel Johnston out there. Kathy knew Daniel and really connects with the feelings and meanings in his music. I really hope this gets funded.

I've got what most (non guitar) people would probably consider an obscene amount of guitars. Right now it's 8 electrics and 2 acoustics. I've got a pretty firm rule though where I virtually only buy them used, and only if I find a deal where I am extremely confident I can resell them quickly for at the very least what I paid for them, so in my head it's not actually costing me money to have them. Only guitars that I have that I got new are a McCarty 594 that I'm 100% positive I'll never sell and a PRS SE Zach Myers that my wife got for me. Other than those, as far as I'm concerned my guitar collection is just a savings account that I can play in the meantime...
In talking to a couple of my friends who play though that was a completely alien idea to them, and resale value barely crosses their mind when buying a guitar because when they are buying it the last thing they are thinking about is selling it. And they seem to think this is the norm.
Is it really that uncommon to see guitars as more of an investment than a permanent long term purchase? When you buy a guitar do you usually do so with no thought given to potentially selling it down the road?
Edit: Since apparently this isn't obvious from my post, I'm not looking to retire off of guitars. My career is in finance. I don't need to be told that guitars aren't going to outperform the S&P500.

Call the 49ers whatever you want , but there’s no doubt that Kyle Shanahan has done wonders all while having Jimmy G at QB.
Head coaching matters and simply looking at McCarty , he’s not better than Mcvay , Shanahan , Reid , McDermot.
Sorry but McCarthy is just the odd man out. We can have all the talent in the world , but he’s just simply not “ The guy “.
I tried to expand my top 100 players and rank every survivor player ever through gameplay. They where split into tiers which contained multiple subgroups in them, which is what the spaces inbetween represent. Any player from the Subgroup is interchangeable with any other player in that subgroup as they are close in ability and I am Indecisive. (the exception is Tony, Parvati and Kim which are in the order listed). I Tried to consider both Proven feats and Natural survivor abilities. Obviously I don't remember every pre-merge player, particually from early seasons, so players might be out of order a bit.

#State testimony
The January 6 Select Committee has expanded its investigation to include state-level officials in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
Pennsylvania's 2020 secretary of state, Kathy Boockvar, reportedly spoke with the Committee. Boockvar fought back against unfounded election fraud claims from state Republicans in the months after the election, blaming them for the insurrection:
>“The attack on our Capitol was the direct result of disinformation and lies — lies that were intentionally spread to subvert the free and fair election and undermine people’s faith in our democracy,” Boockvar said during [a Jan. 2021 hearing].
In December, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson provided a virtual interview with the Committee. Trump tried to overturn Biden’s win the state, inviting members of the state legislature to the White House shortly after the election to pressure them to change the election result.
Also in December, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger spoke to the Committee about “stolen election claims,” presumably including Trump’s Jan 2021 phone call asking him to “find” the votes necessary to overturn the election.
>Thompson said that Raffensperger spoke about his efforts to defend the integrity of the state’s election system despite claims from Trump and his allies that the election had been stolen, which was based on falsehoods and misinformation that were all debunked when audits and recounts confirmed Biden’s win.
... keep reading on reddit ➡If Kellen Moore leaves we have those 3 options to take.
I think McCarthy jus picking up play calling ( same scheme ) would be the worst choice. Kellen Moore offense has always shown a lack of consistent in the red zone, at times it just feels like they have a great drive and don’t punch it in. I would hate for this problem to stick around even after Kellen ( leaves assuming. )
Option 2 would be McCarty implementing his scheme , i think McCarty’s scheme from prior years also had trouble. However not in red zone but rather in run game. Something we already have huge trouble could possibly only become worse. However McCarthy did study the game and maybe has a better reinvented scheme ?
-If they want to hire someone from the outside , I think hiring Joe Brady would be our BEST option. Now people may think Brady is garbage dude to lackluster season but i see him as someone like Matt LaFleur who’s offense was horrible with titans but transitioned beautiful to the packers. Brady’s offense would be like putting a your hand in a glove the perfect fit ! With our personal group I think we would be able to maximize opportunities in the Brady offense.

RHEL product manager Scott McCarty touches on this briefly in episode 253 of the Destination Linux show that can be found here.
Essentially, this would be done by using the current Red Hat Leapp tool, which is mainly used for in-place upgrades between RHEL versions.
This took me a MINUTE! But I'm bored with covid and was wondering who the oldest and youngest housewives were. The only birthday that I could not find at all was Sarah the bow-eater from RHOC :( Enjoy!!

I'm definitely more of a player than a collector, but have still developed a pretty solid collection after years of buying, selling, and trading. Never had a PRS until a couple years ago, and pretty quickly decided that they were my favorite guitars out there. So at this point I'm leaning pretty heavily towards getting a Private Stock made.
As silly as it sounds, a part of me is worried that I may up feeling like a dog that finally caught its tail though. Planning on basically starting with a McCarty 594 with a piezo added, a treble bleed circuit that you can switch on and off in addition to the coil tap. Either aquaviolet or a charcoal that bursts to emerald around the edges. Like, I have the whole thing planned out... But if I make that, it will be pretty much perfect for almost every style that I play, I'll never need another guitar, and I'll likely never see another guitar that I like more than mine, which I'm worried will kill a decades long passion of mine...
Has anybody else gone through this process of finding their grail, and had that result either happen or not happen? I would obviously love to have the thing, but not if it's about to kill part of the fun of guitars to me...
Any input is much appreciated!
I legit don't care if a one-liner misunderstanding - which could have been solved if they had talked for just one second - separated them. I don't care about the reason why they spent years miserably apart from each other as long as they remain celibate through and through. And didn't separate because because they cheated.

... keep reading on reddit ➡Over the holidays, I took a deep dive into the 1988 Olympics team final. Watching the event and reading contemporaneous media accounts was eye-opening. That context changed how I looked at the Seoul Olympics and the narrative of the “stolen” bronze medal. (This is very long, so the tl;dr is: if you want to argue that the U.S. should have won that bronze medal, you have to accept Bela Karolyi’s disregard of the rules and ignore the fact that the DDR had one hand tied behind their back in team finals.)
At 1985 Worlds, with all the Communist countries in attendance, Team USA finished in 6th place, about three full points behind the 5th place team. At every Worlds since 1962, they finished between 5th and 8th place. In the all-around final, their highest finish was 14th. One American woman qualified for one event final and finished next-to-last.
In the lead-up to 1987 Worlds, the USGF hired a neutral coach, hoping to reduce the influence of personal coaches who all had financial conflicts of interest. Bela Karolyi was part of the committee that decided to hire a neutral coach and, according to Mike Jacki at 1987 Pan Ams, nominated Greg Marsden.
After a run of six college championships in a row, Marsden probably seemed like a great choice. But coach politics got in the way. Bela was reportedly furious that Marsden didn’t select him as his assistant for 1987 Pan Ams. Marsden literally couldn’t hire Bela or any male coach as his assistant. Jacki is incorrect in the previous link when he states it was customary to have a female coach on the floor during the team final. It was actually mandated in the Code that at least one coach had to be female. This is important foreshadowing for later, when key figures in the USGF did not have a clue what the rules were.
Marsden comes off as incredibly naïve about the American team’s standing in international gymnastics. At 1987 Pan Ams, he was asked about the team’s prospects in the upcoming World Championship and cited their success at Pan Ams as proof that they were contenders for medals at Worlds.
While part of his job was hyping the team (and Marsden, if nothing else, was very good at promoting his teams), Pan Ams was not an indicator of how Team USA would stack up against the Eastern Bloc. The comparison is deeply silly. His stated goal — sho

I was hoping you all might help me come up with something to go with Declan James and Owen McCarty. I'm a sucker for names ending in "er" but they sound weird to me since our last name does too. I like Angelo...which doesn't exactly match. Ian, Kian, Kellan and Tadgh is a guilty pleasure but I fear it would NEVER be pronounced correctly in the states.

I am working on a project that involves making my way through international competition in WAG for the last 45ish years and I thought once a decade or so I'd do a round up post of some of my observations, interesting finds, recommendations and miscellaneous discoveries.
First a word about watching 1980s gymnastics. Don't go into it assuming that this 10.0 system is like the modern NCAA one or even the last modern 10.0 systems. It was very different frankly youtube is littered with people who view these routines with modern eyes and see a 10.0 routine and find the flaw or the element they don't like (which may not even be a deduction in that era or ignore things that were) and diminish gymnasts because of those marks. The system at the time didn't use 10.0 as an ideal form of form of gymnastics even if that was the technical definition of the score. It was a tool for ranking gymnasts in the correct order. Any gym fan can tell you that Nadia's 10s weren't perfect for the most part but they were given to establish that she was the best in those competitions.
You will find a fault in any 10 ever given. And I will later in this post list I think two of the most imperfect 10s because I'm a giant hypocrite. But insisting that a tiny mistake here or there should have gotten a .1 deduction (because that was the option at the time) very often would result in the order of the competitors being incorrect. I would argue this is the case for people who scream (and I do mean scream) about Dagmar Kersten's EF bars 10 at the 1988 Olympics. It's a beautiful routine. It has supreme difficulty and innovation beyond nearly all of the competition. And a very small hop. Because of the ranking of the competition at that point giving her a 9.9 would have been an incorrect ranking of the competition.
I would suggest as you watch the 1980s to view 10s simply as "maximum scores" rather than perfection.
Another thing I want people to understand about watching 1980s gymnastics is how darn hard the mats are. The floor only just started having springs in it and I found conflicting information on if the 1979 World Championship floor had any at all (there is an article about the Rio floor saying high level competitions in 1979 did but looking at that floor ... it doesn't look to me like it does at all). The 1981 European championships are on youtube in high quality raw film with no commentary and atmospheric sound. Every vault landing, every dismount from bars and beam s
