A list of puns related to "Kalpa (Vedanga)"
Before you ask, yes I've read the wiki, and I wasn't really satisfied with the answer there. It's said there that the world resets to a new Dawn era, and I want to know exactly what that means. Is Mundus physically destroyed and it needs to be recreated each time, or is it more of a mass extermination of life that results in new life taking over the same physical locations? It's said that different gods play different roles in each Kalpa, are they reset alongside Mundus, causing them to need to rediscover or even reinvent their purpose, or do they retain every memory of the previous worlds and just take the opportunity to try something else? Is the creation of the world something that happens every Kalpa or did Lorkhan only trick the gods once? And most importantly, IMO, since it's said that the Redguards used a method called The Walkabout to survive the end of their Kalpa, confirming that Redguards are from a previous Kalpa. If ES6 takes place in Hammerfell, is it possible that we could find somewhere that kept information recorded about the previous Kalpa and learn more about Kalpas in general? Or even how exactly the last world ended and how Kalpas operate? And what about things that happened in this Kalpa? Did daedra that were born after the creation of Mundus like Mehrunes Dagon or Sheogorath not exist in previous Kalpas? Would they continue to exist in the beginning of the next Kalpa or would their later creation mean that when the universe resets, the events that created them are also reset and undone?
what has survived from previous Kalpas or does nothing make it I seem to remember the myths speaking as though the gods are trying to sidestep the cycle to continue existing but is that how that works if so are there gods from previous Kalpas that we know of I heard that the Sload* if thats what they are called controlled a previous Kalpa under the guidance/worship of Molag Bal* I think so yeah what do we know how do we side step the cycle or is my point of view contain a lack of understanding of how it works I also dont remember if I have asked this in this way here before but yeah let me know
Do the events that transpire throughout the world happen identically to the previous Kalpa? Or does it imply a completely new reality where different civilizations, wars, Gods and lore can exist?
So Iβve seen some speculation about what it is Alduin actually destroys, and what the Kalpa cycle affects. Personally I believe the daedric realms are unaffected, mostly because I would think the Daedra would try to stop Alduin if they were also going to be reset. Anyway Iβm wondering whether or not people could hide in a daedric realm, wait for the reset and then go back to Tamriel. Kinda like how Yagrum Bagarn evaded the disappearance of the dwarves( although obviously that was an accident). Iβm also open to ideas of why Alduin resets the Daedra as well.
Whats the difference?
ALSO: Is the universe destroyed at the end of each Mahayuga or only the humankind?
so which god would be the most transcendant; from what I understand Anu and Padomay fight, Nirn is created, the blood spilled from both create the Aedra and Deadra respectively. but before this stuff what exists? because I thought of Anu-iel if thats the name of Anu's soul but thats after not before; like is the Cosmology inherently Dualistic or am I missing something given the Kalpas. but then again even if the wheel/cycles change the combination of the components but did the components always exist or when did it start or is that just not a question in Elder Scrolls... I just got back into this series through the FudgeMuppet Podcasts and this lore is awesome.
I had a hard to wording the question. Reading up on the cosmological lore of ES, the Aedra went comatose to create Mundus this time around, and the Daedra were the spirits that didn't feel like helping out. Even if they might have had in the past worlds.
But what does this mean for the mortal realm? Would an extra Divine change the structure of Nirn? Mora, Molag Bal etc.
Or as another example.
Imagine all the current princes - for no clear reason - had a switcharoo with the divines. The Nine are now the new 9 Daedric princes, if the logic holds up. And the 17 former Daedra are now sleeping as 'The Seventeen'.
Do we now have a nonsensical world where linear time doesn't exist, nor love or anything good? What if every spirit helped out in creating a world at once, so there would be no Daedra for that Kalpa?
Is Kalpas related to anyone or is he just a random dude?
So when a Kalpa ends and the world is destroyer what happens to all the souls? Do all the after lives just get emptied? Or does everyone still alive just go to their respective afterlives?
I have been thinking about the adjacent places lately, like Lyg and its ilk, and it got me thinking about the convention. To the best of our knowledge, the Kalpas look similar in some ways, and very different in others. An example of this is how the gods whose hands were put into creating mundus (or equivalent) are different through the different worlds, like how Molag Bal supposedly had a hand in the creation of Lyg (or, according to Vivec and Mankar Camoran, ruled over it). This, to me, suggests that there is more than one convention, where different combinations of gods meet to decide Lorkhan's fate, depending on who is involved. I'm curious as to whether someone who is more knowledgeable than me in the Lore has any thoughts on this topic.
If this is the case, a follow-up question arises: how do the et'ada keep falling for it? While there is some ambiguity as to whether or not the gods were actually tricked by Lorkhan, if we assume that they were, then how do they keep falling for Lorkhan's deception? We know that Lorkhan had a hand in Lyg's creation as well from the Mythic Dawn commentaries, so it's definitely him every time. Don't they learn from their own mistakes?
Grinded my fingers off to finish the 2nd story arc of Elysian realm, only to reach this section and now it's grinding my brains.
What exactly happened btwn the 2 of them? or rather what did eden do in this case?
Did i miss the dialogue on this section or has it not been covered yet in the main story?
