A list of puns related to "Julius Randle"
> In 455 minutes without Randle on the court this year, the Knicks are outscoring teams by 15.9 points per 100 possessions, which of course would be an all time record. > > He must be really nicked up.
Net Ratings for each rotation player with and without Julius.

This is our most talented player and weβre booing him for having a stretch of bad games. Tons of people asking that he be benched or shipped out. Common guys, this man just led our team to the playoffs for the first time in 8 YEARS. Have some class, not everyone has the mental fortitude and like-ability as RJ. News flash, we need talent. Keep treating our players like this and we will never break through. We wonder why we always get sloppy seconds in free agency.
He went 1/7 from the field, 0/3 from the three-point line, and didn't attempt a single free-throw.
He also had 12 rebounds, so at least he wasn't completely horrible, and the Knicks also won.

Not the ideal performance after his comments the other day to say the least
Refs calling the game differently based on the player's strength is something we obviously all see, but pretty crazy that a ref straight up said this to Randle during the game:
>"That's not how you're supposed to referee a game."
Edit - Randle talking about it postgame.
Reminds me of when an NFL ref told Cam Newton he was too young to get a roughing the passer call.
>Knicks win but Julius Randle situation only gets worse. His night ended with a frustration foul and a beeline to the bench, with the crowd booing and then chanting for his replacement, Obi Toppin.
>Randle scored just two points. It was his lowest output as a Knick.

Imo Knicks just need to pray that he comes back productive after ASB and then ship him out this summer.

He's been struggling to repeat his All-NBA form from last season all year but today might have been his worst game yet
The Knicks have been losing a lot of games recently and Randle's lackluster play has been one of the reasons why, although not the biggest
Terrible game from him today. Against a very short handed pistons team (if they werenβt short handed enough), he played terrible to the point after he subbed out in the third with the Knicks down 14, he wasnβt put back in.
The Knicks bench came back and ultimately won the game, but an overall terrible game by Randle against a weak Pistons team to add onto an already disappointing season from him.
> Just want to send a quick message to our fans and be clear -- I Iove NYC > and being a part of this team and this franchise. And like most Knicks fans, > I am really passionate about us being successful. > > > My family and I love how the fans and New Yorkers have embraced and > accepted us and have made us feel great about our decision to commit > long-term with the team this past summer. This support means the world > to us. > > I understand that my actions also represent the league, this organization, > and the city, and that I should have handled things last night differently > and expressed myself with more professionalism and more appropriate > language in the heat of the moment. My comment was an example of how > sometimes you say things you regret to people you love, even if it came > from a place of passion and deep love. > > Nobody wants to win more than me and I will continue to show loyalty > and dedication to my teammates, the entire Knicks organization, and the > fans who have shown me and my family so much love. I am going to keep > focusing on the future.
> Tom Thibodeau asked about social media criticism of Julius Randle: > > βThatβs the day and age of social media. Thatβs why you donβt pay attention to it. It doesnβt matter.Β β¦Itβs like the backup quarterback. Everybody thinks he should start until he starts.β
Have to figure out the late game offense
Last year Randle was the savior and made the Knicks respectable again instead of a perpetual laughingstock.
Now after only 30 games in a weird year Randle is getting this much hate despite the Knicks being near .500 which would be one of their better seasons in 20 years.
No wonder no star wants to play here
Almost every day there's like 5 posts about or related to Randle all saying pretty much the same things. Some if it is good discussion and people make good points but do we really need the same posts saying "Randle is the problem, he sucks", "Thibs needs to stop playing Randle so many minutes and play Obi more", "We need to trade Randle" or "Randle is not the main problem, the whole team has issues", "Stop booing Randle, he's why we were good last year", "Knicks fans are toxic, this is why we never get star players ". The comments are almost always the same anyway so I feel we could consolidate them a little if people aren't going to use the Daily Threads
This post is a mega thread for your serious thoughts on Julius. Share your thoughts about him and engage in discussion here.
Edit: mods plz pin this so people donβt create so many reactionary randle posts and instead can all type in here

Every scenario in which Julius Randle is off the court and any given player is on the court the Knicks have a positive net rating.
Of course this is a very, very simplified model. Julius Randle is consistently going up against the other teams best lineup. However, this certainly doesn't bode well for him and his contribution to winning.
Recently it has been pretty bad with how randle is being treated by some fans how the booing and just hate he gets is kind of undeserved, I am not a randle lover but I do not hate him, we need to give him a break.
How much more do we need to see to think heβs a legitimate problem for this team? Between him and RJ, everything that was promising from last year looks gone. Iβll even give RJ a pass for the stomach bug and the flu (even though Iβve maintained he is not an all star caliber player) but Randle is an absolute menace to any continuity we have an offense and defense. How much more do we need to see for there to be a reduction in his minutes or him being the focal point in offense? Inb4 all of the the was second team all nba last year comments, we are about 10 games away from the midway point of the season, and he looks god awful.

He's been criticized a lot this year so this was a good bounceback game for him
Not a lot of offense from either team in this game overall so him stepping up was big
Burks 2-9
Rose 1-9
Quickley 1-6
Story of the game was the shots for the secondary scorers just weren't falling (especially important with 3 players in COVID protocols). They'll have better days.
Team is -22 per game with him on the court. Thatβs one of the worst in the league and he is playing tons of minutes (832 minutes). This is the Randle we saw in playoffs but now itβs not just an outlier.
Bonus!!!
> Heβs the best player in the league, for sure,β Randle said Monday when asked about Kevin Durant ahead of Tuesdayβs game against the Nets at Barclays Center. β[Iβve] never seen a 7-footer that skilled. [He can] do anything, everything, on the court. No weakness. Thatβs him. Heβs tough. Great player, but I love competing against him.β
Seems to be somewhat of a popular opinion since the 2nd round. I know Giannis has something to say, Steph got something to say too. Is this the first year where the βbest player in the leagueβ convo is up for grabs? KDs case isnβt perfect, and for years Lebron was just so much above everyone that it wasnβt an argument, even with Steph and Kawhi having years where people thought it was them
I once got uncomfortably close to Julius Randle
This happened this past season. I was at a Knicks game (I am a longtime fan), excited to watch my team play, regardless of how poor they currently were. My friend Jack texted me before I got to the arena and told me that if I got down to the 1st floor tunnel at least an hour before tipoff, I might be able to get some daps from a few players. Excited at the possibility, I hustled my way through the crowds at the World's Most Famous Arena (Madison Square Garden), eager to get a good spot.
It was a late December game (before Christmas), so New York had that magical holiday buzz in the air. Unfortunately for me, everyone both in America and across the various oceans of the world felt the same way, as the Garden was absolutely packed to the gills. I felt myself getting buffeted back and forth as I tried to sidle my way through the masses - luckily, the downy jackets on most of the fans' backs acted as a sort of volatile pillow, softening some of the blows. I was doing alright and making some decent progress to the tunnel when out of nowhere...
WHAM! A crowd of teenage guys, maybe late high school or early college age, came barreling towards me, running almost at full tilt. One of them carried a heavy backpack that he held on only one strap, causing it to swing wildly and slam directly into my stomach, fully knocking the wind out of my lungs.
"Sorry!" He shouted back, as he and his buddies continued their maniacal sprint. Wheezing, I dragged myself out of the log-jam of people and, feeling a door handle in front of me, pulled, thinking I had reached a bathroom where I could regather my senses. Taking a few steps into the room, I once again ran headlong into another person, except this time, the violence of the previous encounter was replaced with a sort of surprised, masculine tenderness.
"Whoa dude," the man said, "you alright there?" The voice... that Voice. It was undeniably deep and baritone, but with floral accents that gave it a sort of beautiful, harmonious melody - akin to the luscious contrast of moody horns punctuated by sharps bursts of a vivacious trumpet. Looking up, slowly, I was greeted with a sight that sent off dueling alarm bells of arousal and fear in every recess of my brain. I knew Julius Randle was tall, but 6 foot 8 inches is something that you really can't properly experience unless its in the flesh. His heavily muscled calves bulged out from his white nike leg sleeves. Tight Knicks
