A list of puns related to "Injection mold construction"
Need some assistance with mold buyoff check list and trial review
I'm sure that CNCing has gotten tons better through the years, but even some some simple parts, I was quoted around 40-50k for one die. I know that it's not just CNC, but also polishing and design testing but 40-50k seems like a huge number
Hi! i'm new in this magic world and i was trying to make dices of recycled plastic. Does somebody know how to make molds for rpg dice? or have any kind of info or idea, thx in advance for your time ^^
So I need to make a ton of small plastic pieces for something and I have access to those injection mold machines where you have to push the plastic yourself. Iβm confused on how to vent my mold because every article I have read is making it sound really complicated.
Hi All,
I'm not an engineer and I don't have any experience w/ manufacturing. An engineer helped me develop a small case that I sketched up on paper and it is intended to be made with Tritan plastic. The case has over-molded TPE components and will require ultrasonic welding. I am ready to prototype and I've reached out to many manufacturers that I found on Thomasnet.com but quickly learned that I will only be considered by facilities that will entertain low-volume jobs. I know of Protolabs, Xcentric, and Xometry. I prefer to work with a facility in the US but understand that cost may influence me to go abroad.
Are there any facilities that you can recommend to a person with 0 experience? I'd love to hear about your personal experiences and am open to any advice.
Thank you!
Hi all - Does anybody have any ideas as to the best way to create a silicone mold for wax injection for this shape?
The tricky part is getting the wax mold off the silicone that builds up through the top of the hole down to the bottom, the lip doesn't allow you to simple slide it off. You can see it actually ripped out after the second attempt. I tried putting a printed core in, but the wax just stuck to it and the heat from the wax actually warped the core.
Can I just cut the top of another mold off and pour it in top down?
Any ideas would be super helpful!

Like just doing the math that if a figure is sold for 100 dollars and after all is said and done they make 25% profit margin they would still need to sell 2000 units of every type of figure they make (and thats on the cheap side). Now I can see that for figures that are more prominent, nezuko from demon slayer for example, but how can they stay profitable with more obscure characters?
I know this seems like a weird question, i guess it is but I just am incredibly confused by how a relatively niche market could have a business model based on making so many different production runs?
maybe i'm missing an important step or knowledge, maybe the molds are cnc but some other way that allows for cheaper molds?
thanks in advance
I need an aluminum box that I can put my molds into but it doesn't seem like it is something you can just get off amazon or something. Does anyone know where I can get such a thing
I have a small shop and am planning on getting a Buster Beagle injection molding machine. However, I need injection molds that will have a long tool life, so I would need to get them machined. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a CNC mill. Are there any good services that take files and design and machine injection molds for them?
I'm looking into designing injection molded parts and wanted to make my own molds. Is there an online resource I can use that would help me get a good grasp on the basics of mold design and manufacturing?
Hi, I make clocks.
Looking into injection molds and I just canβt seem to find a good maker with reasonable pricing. Last year for 1/2 of our main pieces we got quoted at
American company $5k Chinese company $6k Chinese company #2 $3k
Again we only really need two things molded. Now we are increasing our sizes and I literally just got sent a quote for almost 100k. I must be doing this wrong. Old companies we used not responding.
Any ideas/advice?
This is what Iβm trying to model. Two parts and the bottom isnβt done

Iβm trying to find some reading on placing model kit parts on sprues and runners, and also designing sprues and runners. Are there any good resources for learning about this aspects of design?
