What artery feeds the inferior portion of the heart? (II, III, aVF)

According to FA, it's the RCA, and according to Uworld, it's the PDA. I know the PDA is usually a branch off the RCA, but what confuses me is that FA specifically notes that the PDA feeds the "posterior" portion of the heart (V7-V9) but doesn't mention it in the blurb about II, III, and aVF. Thank you so much!

Where do I find info about the specific treatment and care of myocardial infarction according to their location?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for information on the specific treatment and care of myocardial infarction in regard to their location. I have to make a care plan for my patient who has had an inferior myocardial infarction, however, none of my books write about the location of the myocardial infarction (inferior/anterior/lateral) and their possible complications, treatment etc.

I couldn't find it that quick on Google Scholar either. Does anyone know any good source that talks about the care of a post myocardial infarction patient with regard to the location of the infarction? It would mean a lot to me and my progress to find this out.

With kind regards,

A nurse student

Summary of Henry Clay's First Term | Pax Francia?

What tier would you rate Henry Clay's first term as president?

President Henry Clay, the first president to be photographed

The Cabinet:

Vice President: Joseph Ritner (1841-1842)
Secretary of State: Theodore Frelinghuysen (1841-1842)
Secretary of Treasury: Rufus Choate (1841-1842)
Secretary of War: John Bell (1841-1842)
Attorney General: James Harlan (1841-1842)
Secretary of the Navy: William Drayton (1841-1842)
Postmaster General: Millard Fillmore (1841-1842)
Secretary of Interior: Joseph Vance (1841-1842)
Minister to France: Samuel L. Southard (1840-1842), Charles S. Todd (1842)
Minister to Britain: Henry Wheaton (1838-1842)
President of the Second National Bank of the United States: Thomas Ewing (1837-)
Commanding General of the US Army Winfield Scott (1833-)
Admiral of the US Fleet Isaac Hull (1835-1841), Matthew C. Perry (1841-)

Domestic Policy:

- Henry Clay created a cabinet that he hoped would appease all factions of the party. Former Minister to Britain Joseph Vance was offered the post of Secretary of State. Vance refused, but accepted the new Secretary of Interior cabinet position. Young Representative from New York Millard Fillmore was made Postmaster General. Fillmore was known as an anti-slavery Whig, but he had still supported Clay in the Whig convention of 1840. This made him a logical choice. William Drayton, a South Carolina Unionist, was chosen as the Secretary of the Navy. As the only concession to his main opponent in the convention, Davy Crockett, John Bell was appointed Secretary of War.

- This left the positions of Secretary of State, Attorney General, and Secretary of Treasury unfilled. Clay chose to fill the positions of Secretary of Treasury and Attorney General with Clay loyalists. He chose Rufus Choate and James Harlan, from Massachusetts and Kentucky, respectively. Finally, He offered the post of Secretary of State to Theodore Frelinghuysen to reward the "Christian Statesman" for supporting him in the convention. However, Clay himself would take charge over most of the country's foreign policy during his term, leaving Frelinghuysen essentially irrelevant.

- Former president Andrew Jackson died on March 19th, 1841, weakened severely by his time as president and his service in the Civil War.

- On April 8th, 1841, women's rights activist Lucretia M

My experience 2 dose of Pfizer. Reposted from r/vaccinelonghaulers

Hello I've been pretty active this past week in a lot of posts sharing that I've been diagnosed with Myocariditis and just how my doc was able to do it with a chest MRI with contrast after 9 months. I wanted to share as much as I can about this past year in the hopes it can help some of you with the same symptoms not take almost a year to diagnose. I'm a 29M (at the time 28) from NJ

I got my second dose of pfizer (batch numbers EN6206 and EP7534) on April 2nd, 2021. I did not have any symptoms from the first shot. Pretty much all of my immediate family had gotten their second dose already and seemed fine so I wan't expecting any trouble. I started off with the usual symptoms of a fever and fatigue that lasted a weekend but on the Sunday of that weekend I had a scare where all of a sudden when I was laying down, my heart started going berserk. Like it felt like an off beat followed by a rapid tachycardia. This happened for like 5 minutes then stopped. The next like 4 days or so I felt ok then I started to notice a weird feeling in my chest. I thought this was something that would clear up on its own but 1 week went by then a 2nd and I finally started telling my family about it asking for recommendations on a cardiologist.

It felt like a pressure of sorts that gradually evolved into chest tightness and got to a point where I couldn't take a deep breath without either some pain or my heart feeling like it was skipping a beat or something. I scheduled an appointment with a useless doctor named Dr.Christoforo (dont give a damn about revealing her name she should lose her license). Due to how long I had to wait, (month of May now) I wound up going to the hospital one night cause this was keeping me up and I had also began to look up if anyone was having similar symptoms after the shot. This was around the time that the first 6 cases of myocarditis after the vaxx was reported. I started to ask my brother and the people at the hospital if this is what was wrong. They weren't outright dismissive but very doubtful. I had an ekg, troponin blood test, and chest x-ray done all came back normal. The doc believed I may have heart my chest muscle in some way but my cardiologist would do further tests.

So the aforementioned doctor did give me a stress test, and a echocardiogram no contrast. These tests came back normal and at that point she wanted to completely clean her hands of me and just said it was probably anxiety you are too young for anything else. So I went ano

Supplements: What they do, and why take them!

Intro

A crash course about me:

^(I was on the contraceptive pill from age 17 to 26. When I stopped, my cycle was extremely irregular. I had my period 3-4 times a year. I wasn't planning on a family at the time so I didn't do anything about it even though I assumed IΒ had PCOS. Fast forward to the age of 30 and I met my husband. I told him from the start that I am not that fertile and having babies with me might be a struggle. He said he was ok with that. After two months of knowing him - BAM! I got pregnant. We had a happy, healthy, baby girl who is now 4 years old. We haven't used any contraceptives since she was born, and even if my cycle has gotten more regular since my delivery I didn't manage to get pregnant again.)

^(Until December 2021. I got my first positive pregnancy test since 2017. This pregnancy unfortunatleyΒ ended in a miscarriage around week 6. This was two weeks ago. During these two weeks I realized how much I actually wanted a second baby and a sibling for my daughter. My OBGYN diagnosed me with PCOS after the miscarriage. I have therefore read a bunch of studies and forum posts about PCOS, pregnancy rates, miscarriages, and supplements and I put together all my findings into a list, and I want to share my summary of supplements with you.)

^(My husband and I decided, together with my OBGYN, to try naturally for 4-6 months, and if nothing happens we will go straight to IVF.)

why does using warfarin work for portal vein thrombosis

correct my anatomy here but the confluence of portal vein include the superior and inferior mesenteric vein along with the left gastric vein. this technically covers all of the small and large intestine along with the stomach. why would we expect warfarin to work after oral absorption to drain into the liver to affect epoxide reductase if there is an actual thrombosis that prevent blood flow to the liver? is it the collaterals that form thats taking up a very small amount of this warfarin from the stagnant blood? Its posutlated that small gut is where warfarin is absorbed though never worked out the exact location of warfarin from my search. the only other supply of blood is the hepatic artery of approx 25% of blood to the liver but this isn't technically from the gut though.

historically it has been used but i dont understand why this would work despite it working

Why did my mother’s heart attack look like this?

72F

160 lbs, 5’3

Smoker (of course she just quit). Hypertensive, previously treated with Norvasc and another one I can’t remember.

She is alive! She received a stent in time.

She had a STEMI, and the blockage was in her right coronal artery. The inferior part of her heart was affected. She also had atrial fibrillation.

Her symptoms were:

  • vomiting and sweating

  • needing to go to the bathroom

  • feeling generally unwell

  • she had the thought/feeling β€œI am going to die if I don’t make it to the bed” (which she did, I helped from there). I guess this is that β€œfeeling of impending doom”?

I think the stent placement was a little outside that important 90 minute window, but my mom made it with only a little damage, thanks to the docs and nurses and that one great paramedic who coordinated things from her home.

Some questions:

  • all her other arteries were clean. How does a single artery get 100% clogged? My mom’s cholesterol is borderline/high. But just one artery? How? Can severe acute stress (against a background of chronic stress) do this, and if so, by what mechanism? (She would like to know and the hospital cardiologist did not offer an opinion. But she welcomes speculation.)

  • No chest pain, none of the classic heart attack symptoms. Why? I know heart attacks look different in women, but are you kidding me, I wouldn’t have known I was in dire straits if I were in her shoes.

  • her cardiologist, whom she approached three times complaining of palpitations and lightheadedness, having felt it more frequently than that, did not pick up on issues using an echocardiogram, or ekg/holter. Neither did the hospital the one time she went for that. They did see low potassium that time. It was relatively normal for her heart attack. How can she have had an almost 100% clogged artery all this time and not have it picked up?

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

I am staying with her now to help her recover. I am hoping nothing bad happens to her while she sleeps. She has her door closed, so she can sleep. She has her phone with her. I am fighting checking in on her because I don’t want to wake or shock her. Is there anything that can happen suddenly and quietly that I could miss? Should I be in the same room with her for a while?

Finally, I read some very uncomfortable research about mid-term outcomes for women who’ve had STEMIs. On her cath lab report, it’s hard to tell because the doctor just put dots under the classification, I think she was a Killip 3. So w

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

microsurgical varicocelectomy complication, mondor disease, inguinal hernia repair

Guys i need your thumbs up - patients should be informed, i've spent a several of months on analytics and waiting for feedback. I would very much like an experienced urologist to refute all of the following.

When you want to increase your chances of conceiving and decide to undergo microsurgery, no doctor will tell you about this complication before surgery.

There are two groups of penis vessels - internal and external, internal are located between the anus and the balls, where the prostate is, external are located in the groin. The surgeon makes an incision in the groin, so he cannot damage the internal vessels of the penis, but he can damage the external ones.

If such a complication occurs, all urologists tell patients that this is the so-called Mondor's disease, phlebitis of the external vein of the penis, and this cannot worsen erectile function in any way. And indeed, if a vein is damaged, then most likely nothing terrible happens, because blood flows out through the veins, BUT, in this area there are also external arteries through which blood flows into the tissues of the penis.

At the moment, it is generally accepted that the main source of blood supply to the penis is the internal pudendal arteries, but there are reports that in some men the external arteries are significant. 1 , 2

According to my observations, most urologists have not heard anything about this and are not even aware of the presence of arteries in the incision area. I talked to several urologists and surgeons, and they all said that this is definitely a vein and there is nothing else there.

What are the possible causes for the erection impairment:

  • Decrease in blood flow or inflammation from the damaged external artery can affect the internal arteries - the external penile arteries can connect with the internal penile blood supply system - with the accessory penile artery or with the dorsal arteries of the penis. 3 , 4
  • Decrease in the elasticity of the outer tunic of penis - the external arteries supply blood to the tunic of the penis (branches of the external pudendal artery perforate the dartos and Buck fascia), the firmness and elasticity of these tunic is important for achieving an erection - the tunic compresses the veins during an erection and t

Borba's comics: an analysis of what was wrong [red-herrings, careerist BJudy, why Shay exists, narcissism, rebuttals, deleted posts, trolls, and more. Links in post]

[1] Drama over facts

The main focus of the storyline that Borba's "Trilogy of Life" portrays would be the fact that BJudy had an abortion and somehow stated that she was the "first rabbit" to do so.

However, if you were to get the facts about her ability to have the hybrid baby, the history of abortion, and pred/prey relations, you'd see why she was not only capable of carrying the baby despite Borba's vehement arguments against it, but also why she couldn't be the first rabbit to have an abortion.

Borba stated that BJudy wouldn't be able to carry the baby to term due to Judy's size and weight:

https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/877101728/4938027039

Nick, on his application, states that he's 4' and 80lbs. Red foxes generally weigh about 30lbs.

So taking this into account, even if you were to say that Nick would be about 2.6 times the normal weight of his species and apply the same for Judy (European rabbits are about 5lbs), that would make her about 13lbs.

However, she's taller than Otterton with a shorter (scut) tail, but longer ears. So there's no way that she weighs 13lbs.

Here's the closest estimation of Judy's size and weight:

https://www.reddit.com/r/zootopia/comments/5d1bbi/estimating_judys_weight/

So it's about 36 to 80. Judy would be close to half his weight in this estimation, and close to half his height in renderings.

Keep that in mind and you'll see why the argument collapses in on itself in IWS upon further inspection.

In IWS, you'd see that other couples with vastly disproportionate weights were able to have children of their own as seen on page 10 of I Will Survive.

The ones with the most notably disproportionate weight would be the Bull Moose and Doe, and the vixen and what appears to be a Timber Wolf:

https://e926.net/posts/1192490

For those of you that don't know, e926 is the safe version of its counterpart.

As stated above, the weight of the average red fox is about 30lbs, but as this would be stretched for Zootopia counterparts, the female would be about 64 or so (female red foxes weigh about 20% less than males), with the timberwolf being about 60-110 lbs.

The wolf in this picture is much taller and much heavier than his mate. So it would be at the higher end of the scale, but still close to half the height and weight for the co

2D Echogram Results - a question

Hi to all. 37F, 160lbs, 5'4, Eurasian, living in Manila, Philippines. I have no known underlying conditions. I had a 2D Echogram yesterday (first 2d echo ever. I did it because after I recovered from covid, I had 2 panic attacks last week which never used to happen before - the attacks happened during sleep and exercise. I went to the emergency room and they said to check with a cardio.) I got the results of my 2d echogram just now. The earliest appointment I can get with the cardio is in 2 weeks! I saw a few findings in my results but I do not know if these are worrisome or emergencies. I wish I could do an online consult but in my country it's difficult to get appointments right away.

I just want to ask your kind opinion on the below results of my 2d Echogram. I realize it says a lot of "NORMAL" but there are some items I don't understand. Thank you so much for your comments.

Final Impression:

Normal left ventricular mass and dimension with normal wall motion and contractility.

Normal ejection fraction of 74 %.

Normal left and right atrial dimensions.

Normal right ventricular dimension and systolic function.

Small right ventricular outflow tract. Normal main pulmonary artery dimensions.

Small left ventricular outflow tract, and proximal ascending aorta.

Normal aortic root, and aortic arch dimensions.

Small inferior vena cava dimension with adequate respiratory collapse.

Thickened mitral valve leaflets with normal mobility.

Normal aortic, tricuspid and pulmonic valves.

No pericardial effusion.

Color flow and Doppler Study:

Mitral regurgitation, trace.

Tricuspid regurgitation, trace.

Pulmonic regurgitation, mild.

Normal pulmonary artery pressure.

Normal left ventricular diastolic function.

After nearly 24 years Dancemanor has finally connected the Umbilical

To the north one can see the Umbilical, a structure that will serve as a vital part of fortress defence and also as a main artery for the fortress. To the south one can see the beginnings of the trade tower that will eventually connect to a clear glass trading dome suspended above the straight. Neither is complete but they are complete enough that the planning stages of the rest of the structures can commence. The screenshot can't actually capture the whole map but all the important bits are visible.

A while ago I posted about my megaproject to build the worlds longest bridge. After 18 years I managed to finally reach the sea floor. After many years of struggle I have finally built the basic structure of the trading dome tower (south); the Umbilical (north), being only submerged 1 z level, wasn't really difficult to start but took a very long time to channel safely. It goes down 10 z levels from the coast and afaik the bottom is 2 z levels below all aquifer layers.

The hardest part was draining water in the south. Draining 1 z level was trivial with the power of dwarven reactors on my side, up to three reactors now with a total power generation of 3000 (2550 available). To put it mildly, draining multiple z levels with pumps is a massive pain, to the point that I'm not sure if it will even be possible to drain the entire sea using pumps. The prospect of draining the sea by breaching the seabed from below isn't something I like the idea of even though I know that it can be done safely.

Draining the southern tower area was done by building 2 rings of pumps and some windmills for additional power. The second z level took much longer to drain than I thought it would. Liquid pressure is strong and a single ring of pumps couldn't keep a tile free from water for any significant amount of time. Occasionally tiles at pump intake would suddenly have 7/7 water in them despite no connecting liquid, I assume this had something to due with liquid pressure but couldn't conclusively determine a cause.

Clear glass production is going as well as it can with no magma, up to over 1200. That might sound like a lot but I've already

Dropped my best ever dad joke & no one was around to hear it

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies πŸ˜‚

Girlfriend got me good. Never been more proud of her.

Said if she ever hosts a gender reveal party, when it comes time to pop the balloon she'll spray everyone with water.

Gender is fluid.

Posterior and inferior wall infarcts

We've learned the following:

PDA: posterior wall infarct

RCA: inferior wall infarct

The anatomy of this doesn't make sense to me. If we follow the path of the RCA to PDA, we see that the posterior wall of the heart is encountered first, THEN the inferior wall. Then how come the associated arteries appear to be flipped?

Thank you.

My experience 2 dose of Pfizer. Repost from r/vaccinelonghaulers
