A list of puns related to "Indian labour law"
India's rank in World Bank's "ease of business" has improved from 142nd in 2014 to 63rd in 2019 after the massive implementation of neoliberal policies under the ultra right regime of NDA government. The massive exodus of migrant workers has only brought to the surface the deep rooted exploitation that occurs in the informal sector relegating workers to a no better position than bonded slaves . In Karnataka the workers were unlawfully prevented from returning home by the builder lobbyist . The abolition of labour laws (working hours increased, women employability no longer mandatory , no minimum wage , hire and fire flexibilities, etc) in Uttar Pradesh for three years allowing the the power dynamic to shift entirely from labourers to employers leaving them defense less is another severe blow to the condition of the working class and Madhya Pradesh following suit . This had been systematic and gradual since the 1990's but now is exacerbated as the government chooses to use the pandemic as a means to their end of establishing that labour is dispensable. This is being justified by the right wing media as "abolishing archaic laws which hinder business expansion and productivity per labour" Often citing comparison with China . This step undoes ages of struggles of the working class and calls for solidarity and action against this authoritarive regime immediately.
I have joined a mass recruiter and am speculating that knowing the labour laws might come in handy for me but also given that it's India I feel in my gut that they'd have their fair share of imbalance towards the comps and not the workers. I do not know too much about the topic but want to educate myself on it.Any help would be appreciated

The current situation with manual labourers are very poor in India. Manual labourers often leave their home state to find work in other states within india. But now due to lockdown, migrant workers are trapped in different states and have no way to go home. Many are walking miles to reach their home, on foot, and without adequate food. This article sums up the situation by the end of April
Workers are trying to return by all means possible. Police are beating up workers if they walk on highways so many have to take unconventional routes. In an attempt to return home, 16 workers were crushed to death by a train when they fell asleep on the railway tracks due to sheer exhaustion. Some estimates suggest that at least 300 workers have already died.
On 8th May, the Indian government held a meeting with the owners and CEOs representing the 12 "employer's association" on the economic issues in the lockdown situation.
The 12 representatives ask the govt to suspend labour laws for three years. They also demanded that working hours be increased to 12 hours per day and industrial companies be given appropriate package. The Labour Minister said that he was "sympathetic to requirements of industry" and that he would provide all possible help for "...reopening of the economy".
The Labour Minister then held a conference with the trade unions and asked them to "convince workers to resume work."
In effect, Uttar Pradesh, one of the largest states in India has suspended majority of labour laws in the state for three years. The state is run by the same far-right party as the center govt.
And by May 9th, more states are suspending labour laws all of these states have a right-wing government.

The company has now decided to change some of their core HR systems and in so doing they are forcing everyone involved with the systems to do a 2-day training course. The problem comes in that they are trying to get everyone to sign contracts that they need to work back the funding for the next 1-2 years depending on how expensive their specific training was.
They are also not taking work-back in pro-rata amounts, so if you decide to quit on month 11 of 12 you need to pay the full amount back and not just 1/12th thereof. How legal is this?
The entire poltics happening for inviting Elon Musk to different states is crazy .
While some( State Govt's ) eagerly invite Elon Musk via tweet - fail to understand that setting up a direct shop or outlet for Tesla would impact the Indian Labour Market highly
( Jobs would be limited only to sales & after-sales , service) there would be no manufacturing units .
Also the same with UNION government which just wants a sizeable share of import duty but doesn't encourage existing EV Two & Four wheelers by improving infra , providing skill & Grants for Indian Ev Manufacturers.
Before you jump to blind political arguments, pls try to understand I'm not trying to impose anything else than pure concern for jobs, labour of which impact I will explain.
If the technology is brought to Indian Market , there would first be more than few Lakh of People who would directly get knowledge training, develop skills & highly qualified Electrical engineer's & automobile grads would learn the EV concept & be a part of it .
Adding to it , the huge MSME industry which contributes indian gdp would grow !
( Supplying ancillary parts , spares ) would amount over lakhs of jobs again as once a technology & vehicle enters the life cycle it's requirements would be regular .
My suggestion would be to clearly emphasize that Elon needs to set his Factory & Generate employment here as an industrialist . The sales & profit are a set ground already for him !
He is just a pure CAPITALIST !
A relative of mine works at a big accounting company in Bangalore, and they work him to the bone for really low pay. I thought this was the case everywhere, but then he tells me that his international colleagues are obliged to work for just 8 hours a day. He works 13 hour shifts (plus an hour for the commute) for just a fraction of what they make, even considering inflation!! Indians are nothing but cheap labour to these corporations, and as long as they aren't compelled to compensate us for overtime , they're happy to feed us scraps. Fucking ridiculous. This chalta hai bullshit cannot go on longer. PARLIAMENT, WAKE THE FUCK UP
Current labour laws in India are a byproduct of the anti-market governments during the Cold War. These laws make the formal labour market rather noncompetitive with our peer nations, resulting in many laws either being ignored outright or companies employing people in the grey market to avoid having to obey them. In order to promote formal job creation, increase the competitiveness of Indian manufacturing, and to actually improve the rights of workers by making the laws something companies could actually practically follow, the BJP will move forward with a large labour reform act.
The provisions of the law are:
These laws shall be applied universally and across the board, and are inspired by the reforms found in the State of Gujarat which have resulted in much increased economic growth in that area. Hopefully with these reforms, the whole of India will see growth rates similar to Gujarat's, which are currently at between 13 and 14% per year. However, even partial success should markedly increase the economic potential of the nation.
My domestic has been stealing booze and I have this on CCTV. I do pay UIF for her but I have no contract that says that says she βcanβt drink on the jobβ what ground to I have to fire her?
The governments all fold like a cheap suit since they're all simps for billionaires.
Hello,
I created a LLC about 10 days ago in California and decided to be the Registered Agent myself to avoid extra fees as I don't need to keep my name or address anonymous.
I already paid a $70 fee online when I formed it via https://llcbizfile.sos.ca.gov/ and my understanding was that there would be a $20 fee to file the initial statement of information which I haven't done yet and that would be my only fee outside of the $800 yearly registration fee and potential CPA cost.
However I received a mail in my mailbox a few days ago from "Labour Compliance" located in Los Angeles asking me to pay $70 to post a compliant labor law poster. When looking up the company or the address to return it to I can't find anything about this Labor Compliance in LA. Plus my understanding was that this labor law poster was only if I had employees? A bit confused here.. any help would be appreciated!
