I know VR games are there but can I play them on the Valve Index ? Maybe it is a stupid question but I couldn't find an answer.. I assume at minimum I need Steam installed for using the Valve index hardware.

I placed a sell order of $450 of ticker VWO (Vanguard emerging markets index) Monday night and the sell order did not take place during the Tuesday trading window and it’s still pending. Anyone know why this happened?

I’m assuming something’s wrong with the app as VWO is a very popular ETF and it should be easy to find a buyer. My VWO balance is $13k.

Update: I talked to M1 support and they figured out it's an iOS glitch where the sell order was incorrectly coded as a buy order and it was displayed incorrectly in the interface. They said they'll send it to the iOS team and they'll patch it.

I built this pc a while ago, and this issue started happening this week. I was playing EVE online with the new RHEA update the uses physics engine to simulate the graphics. i unloaded on a populated area and my pc restarted. i tried to recreate it and nothing. Then the next day while playing eve online it happened again in another area. i assumed it was my RAM but i ran memtest for 10 hours and found 0 errors. i re-installed the nvidia graphics drivers and nothing happened until today when i remembered i hadn't done a WEI since upgrading my ram.

I went to WEI and immediately saw new hardware notice (which was weird but i assumed the new ram) and ran the test to get a new score. Now it restarts everytime on the same spot. I'm starting to think it's a power supply issue or voltage issue but im not too well versed on that. any suggestions welcome.

More specifically, IT WOULD RESTART DURING THE Direct3D ALU ASSESMENT PART, AND THE SKY DIVER TEST OF Mark3D.

EDIT SOLVED:

I downloaded the 3dmark demo from steam to stress test the graphics card and checked the temp of it. It didnt heat up. Gfx card overheating nullified.

reinstalled drivers for nvidia. Still restarted. drivers eliminated as culprit.

I tested ram use memtest+ and did 4 rounds in 10 hours. 0 errors found of any kind. Ram issue nullified.

monitored temp of CPU during strenous activities. didnt go above 60 C. CPU nullified.

last culprit was PSU. I opened my pc and did the WEI and looked for any funny business. Right before restart i noticed a strange whirring sound from PC. I Assumed it was was coming from gfx card, but upon closer inspection sound was coming from PSU during the strenuous part of graphics stress test and WEI (ALU assesment). I turned my pc on its side, and put ear next to fan. i confirmed it was coming from PSU.

My cpu would make whirring sound due to having CLF lightbulbs close to it (same frequency so it makes CPU make whistling noise). i turned those off to eliminate that as sound source.

Bought a new X4 750W power source, replaced all the parts, and ran the tests. WEI passed marvelously. Eve online i undocked in JITA and nothing happened.

We recently started logging plays in bgg and it's been fun collecting data on games played (and passed over). I've always enjoyed h-index threads and it has been a while since I saw one here so thought it might spark some interesting conversation.

Adapted from academic research, your h-index gives you an idea of how much of your collection gets played how often. Your h-index is n if you have played n games n times (so sort your games by play on bgg and count the number of games you've played till you get to less plays than games counted).

For plays after August 2016, we just hit 9 and realized how hard it gets as you get higher. It also shows how often we reach for certain games (yinsh for us).

Hey folks, so I'm a Quest 2 owner which primarily uses the Q2 for wireless PCVR. Today I found an excellent deal on a used Index, and I'll most likely buy it (it's worth it just for the base stations & knuckles alone).

Hey folks! The time is nigh and we can finally talk about Valve Index hardware!

If you don't know who we are, we're best known for developing The Gallery, a built-for-VR adventure series that started development back in 2013 on the DK1. After working with the Razer Hydra to build one of the first hand-tracked VR experiences, Valve invited us to build a demo for their reveal of what eventually became HTC Vive. Since then, we've kept a close relationship with Valve, building hand-tracked demos for the reveal of Knuckles in 2016, and now Index in 2019!

If you missed it this morning, we released a mini behind-the-scenes of our time with Index developing Aperture Hand Labs. You can also see a full playthrough of the Hand Lab experience from UploadVR.

We'll be in and out of the thread today to answer questions and give our thoughts on the hardware and development. We also launched a new Discord server today where you can chat with us more and keep up with any future projects as well!
