A list of puns related to "Iffy Allen"
With the recent litany of price check threads weβve seen come through, I decided to look at the general publics rankings on KeepTradeCut and compare those to the experts from FantasyPros, Pro Football Focus and ESPN. Each of the experts have a weighted value that is then used to find the ECR; FantasyPros is weighted at 0.5, PFF is weighted at 0.3 and ESPN is weighted at 0.2. This is completely subjective, but I felt ESPNs were a bit out of date (maybe a month or so ago) hence they have the lowest weight.
I did my best to focus on fantasy relevant players and ignore the dart throws. Most notable difference in perceived value (both overvalued and undervalued) is at the QB position. The model score is just a simple calculation of KTC ranking minus the ECR number. Anyway, here is what the numbers say!
I might try to venture outside to watch from Waugh/Allen Parkway - but am iffy because of temps. Maybe it will be too crowded...I've never watched a marathon in person before. Anyone else going to go? (Can you even identify people as they run, if you don't necessarily know their #?) UPDATE woohoo! that was cold! Saw my guys from work and cheered the whole gang on. First runners in this photo! WOOHOO! GO HOUSTON!

One of the biggest conversations when the Pro Bowl rosters are revealed are who the biggest snubs are, and who should've been removed from the list instead. So I thought I'd make a comprehensive list of the biggest snub for each position in each conference within the NFL. If I think the Pro Bowl selections were perfect, than I'll skip that position/conference, maybe throw out an HM if someone deserves it.
QB - Obviously to everyone except NFL coaches/media, Lamar Jackson shouldn't have been the selection here. The real question is which of Joe Burrow or Josh Allen should take his place. On one hand, Allen leads the more successful offense and looking at Football Outsiders' DVOA (who I should mention would've selected Carr based off just their stats), Allen has performed better given his opponents and the situations in which he's passing. And that's not even mentioning his premier rushing ability. However, Burrow has been better in standard passing metrics, while also being better in PFF's grading system both by pure grade, and having a higher rate of big time throws, and a lower rate of turnover worthy throws. All of this while having a noticeably worse offensive line than Allen (and similarly talented weapons between the two). I'll give Joe Burrow the edge, but could easily give it to Josh Allen as well.
RB - Another obvious one here, Austin Ekeler deserved to be in the Pro Bowl after 16 TDs and being the best receiving back in the league (after Cordarrelle Patterson, but that's a little unfair of a comparison). What I've been surprised at however, is the consensus at which Nick Chubb should be the one dropped from the roster, seemingly primarily due to his missing 3 games and having half as many TDs as Joe Mixon. I would say however, with Chubb averaging almost 10 more yards from scrimmage per game, more than 1.3 yards extra per carry (almost 1.0 more yards after contact), and being far ahead of Mixon via DVOA (9th vs 29th in rushing DVOA), Joe Mixon should be the one off the roster. While he does have the worse OL, according to PFF, the team's run blocking is fairly average, which isn't so much lower than Chubb's top 5 run blocking unit that it makes up for Mixon's statistical deficiencies, not to mention his ability to run in a much better passing offense.
WR - Everything looks good here, honorable mention to Tee Higgins who is arguably the best WR2 in the league, and arguably the next best WR in the conferenc

Cap hasnβt been an issue outside of this year.
This year is understandable, as the cap has gone up ~10mil the past 10 years straight. With the added playoff game, it should have been even higher. Instead, with Covid the cap went down 15mil, for a 25mil difference in expected cap. Most teams had issues this year, not just the Bears. The ones that have been unaffected are teams in a true rebuild.
>Spends too much capital trading up to get his guys, wasting draft capital.
He also trades down as often as he trades up. From 2015-2020 he has had a net loss of two 3rds and 7th on draft day. Thatβs 3 picks in 7 drafts. If you plug every one of his draft day trades into a draft value chart, he is net negative a 3rd round pick.
The only real criticism on his trades are if you donβt like the players he trades up for, or if you are universally against trading up, which is another topic entirely.
>Bad at valuing QBs
I think this is misdirected. Itβs true that the QBs he have brought in have been poor. But the community is greatly underestimating how hard it is to obtain a franchise QB. Here are the ways you can get a QB,
Signing someone better than Dalton, or trading for someone with more potential than Foles just isnβt possible. You still have to take those shots, but odds are they arnβt going to be that great.
>Bad at FA signings
This one is tricky, as itβs hard to quantify without looking at every other GMβs signings. But letβs look at his major first contract with the Bears signings on the team now.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Favorite plays: I like Hornets ML, Cavs -3 and Bucks -5.5.
Iβm not much of a Knicks believer. Both teams are 4-1 in their last 5 but the hornets have more depth, less injuries, and better defense. Thereβs a reason the hornets are only a 1 point dog.
The Nets were already lacking depth and now theyβre even more hurt with injuries. The Cavs have a bunch of depth and are at home. This is my favorite play today.
Bucks -5.5 being the iffiest of the bunch IMO. Hawks are such a unpredictable team, they can score a million points and sometimes that can make up for their lack of defense by simply out scoring the opponent. Hawks lacking Capela and Bucks lacking Jrue Holiday makes it even more of a tossup. Still, with that being said, a hawks team with no capela shouldnβt have an answer for Giannis, Middleton will probably do Middleton things and Grayson Allen has been pretty solid.
Plays I kinda like: 76ers -3.5, OKC +11.5, Portland/Orlando under 217.5, Spurs +4.5
The wizards are lacking Beal but otherwise are healthy. But, thatβs a huge loss when playing against one of the MVP favorites Joel Embiid. I like this Wizards team even if theyβve had struggles this year, so thatβs why I donβt love this play. If Kuz, Dinwiddie, and the rest of that cast play well they can win this one.
OKC is bought in. They play their hearts out. SGA and Giddy been balling. I love a good underdog, and OKC should be able to lose by less than 10 against this up and down Mavs team.
Portland and Orlando is a stink fest. One team is injured one team is young. Even with that being said I think a lot of the young bodies out there are gonna want to play aggressive defense, prove their worth, and Iβm not sure there will be a lot of 3 point shooting here.
Spurs +4.5. Take this with a massive grain of salt as Iβm a spurs fan. But suns are lacking Ayton and the spurs play good D. DJ should be able to lock up Booker? Itβs iffy though. Also kinda like the under in this game. I think the under teased with either teamβs spread could be a good look.
Games to AVOID: Celtics/Pelicans, Bulls/Grizzlies, Pacers/Clippers.
These are games whose spreads I hate. Maybe if youβre a fan of one of these markets youβll know how to bet it. Celtics are iffy, pelicans started slow and have picked it up slightly, bulls grizzlies line is too steep for my liking, clippers and pacers are both unpredictable.
Do your worst!
There was a topic posted today saying Reggie Miller was snubbed from being a 10 time all-star but basically gave zero evidence of that. I decided to make an actual detailed post stating his case (or lack thereof) each year he didn't make the all-star game over a 13 year span.
I'll go through each year from 1990 to 2002 to determine each year if he should have made it and who he should have replaced if he didn't. Pre-1990 Miller has zero case to be an all-star and same goes for post-2002.
1990 All-star game: Miller made it and deserved it. This was the most prolific scoring season of his entire career.
1991: Didn't make it. East guards were Jordan, Dumars, Ricky Pierce, Hersey Hawkins, Alvin Roberson, and Isiah Thomas. Let's go through these options one by one.
Michael Jordan: No debate here, this was arguably Jordan's best season.
Joe Dumars: Was on a much more successful team than Miller (50 wins versus 41). Miller scored more and more efficiently and the advanced stats all favor Miller. However Dumars was a substantially better defender and made the all-defensive 2nd team. I'll call it a tie overall.
Ricky Pierce: This was his only career all-star selection. He was still playing for Milwaukee at this point but would soon get traded to Seattle. Pierce was a substantially better scorer per 36 minutes and was on a better performing team. The advanced stats are mixed here, Pierce had a better PER and Miller was better in other stats. Overall I think Miller deserved the nod but it's close.
Hersey Hawkins: This was also his only all-star appearance. A much better defensive player than Miller but I think the difference in offense is enough that Miller deserved the nod here as a reserve.
Alvin Robertson: He led the league in steals and made the all-defensive first team. On the other hand his scoring was just nowhere near Miller's but he was a much better rebounder and passer. This is the type of choice that made sense for the league back then but considering what we value now, a difference choice would've been made. Robertson also actually had a superior BPM but worse win shares. I think this was a solid choice.
Isiah Thomas: Besides passing had a pretty bad season and was injured by the all-star game to boot. He had no business being on the team, and Miller deserved the spot here as a reserve. But there was no injury replacement for him.
Overall 1991: Miller got snubbed and deserved to be a reserve.
1992: Miller did

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

It really does, I swear!
New York lived up to the moniker of "Wet Dream Tomato" because holy hell there was a lot of blood tonight. UFC 268 marked back to back pivotal cards for the promotion, as the promotions return to NYC came just one week after the UFC's giant card in the UAE. There were three huge debuts, arguably the greatest 3 round fight in UFC history, and two statements made by the reigning champions. So let's make some fights after the 2nd last main card of 2021.

RESULT: Alex Pereira defeats Andreas Michailidis in Round 2 via TKO
Alex Pereira: Winner of Bruno Silva-Jordan Wright
One of the greatest kickboxers of all time has now arrived in the UFC. Former Glory Kickboxing champion Alex Pereira showed us exactly what he is capable of at this point in his MMA career with his surreal knockout power, and an overall striking skillset which is probably already top 5 in all of the middleweight division. At 34 years of age, Alex Pereira isn't going to be here for a long time, but rather a good time, and he'll probably get a big push up the 185 ladder. I think a fight with the winner of Bruno Silva-Jordan Wright is the appropriate next move for middleweight's newest star. Both Silva and Wright have lots of knockouts in their careers, and either man's skillset will be challengi
