I have acquired an IBM 5151 display and I want to find out ways to use it. I really would like to use it or have it function as a terminal screen for a Linux box, but just getting something to display would be nice. I have an IBM ThinkPad 700C with a full ISA slot, so this is already one option I have. I also have an older Epson HX-20 from '82, but I don't think there would be a way to connect this...?
My main question is, where would I start on driving this monitor with more modern hardware? I understand VGA will take modifying graphics driver (if the card supports it) to get the right clocks, but was wondering if there were good resources on this, or if I could connect it via Serial somehow or use it as a TTY display, I dunno much about this and am just starting TTL classes. for an outdoor GPS device I'm currently searching a good LCD module with some tight specifications.
- It needs to have a 4-5" viewing area
- Aspect ratio like 4:3 or 16:9 but not flat and long like 3:1.
- Good viewing angles like >120°
- Monochrome (no RGB)
- Reflective or transflextive illumination
- Dot Matrix (so I can display simple graphics and big text)
I cannot find such a display in this size. It would be very cool if someone knows a manufacturer or a website where i can get some.
I recently got an adapter for my IBM KB-7953. But when I plug it in ,the green lights both blink , but nothing after that. Tested with two different systems and two different OS's. On windows i got this:

I've found both a Centris 610 (which unfortunately will only stay on if I hold the power button, but I'm sure that can be fixed) and an IBM PS/2. Both have displays and both mostly work. I don't have floppies for either and they're super heavy. Is it worth the effort to grab both of them? (P.S. I'm a mechanical keyboard enthusiast so the IBM Model M and AEKII have already been rescued and are being cleaned)
Platform(s): Pretty sure this was on an IBM XT, but may have been anything else in that 286/386 era, nearly positive it was on a 5 1/4" floppy originally.
Genre: Side scrolling tank that could jump or shoot (could be both, don't remember) obstacles and may have had very basic parallax scenario in the background but I think it was static background and only moving foreground (no middle distance stuff)
Estimated year of release: 1987-1992 roughly
Graphics/art style: Tank and obstacles/ground were filled in polygons drawn in glorious orange monochrome - as that was the monitor I had I don't know if it had colors.
Notable characters: I don't recall any characters or story line.
Notable gameplay mechanics: The only mechanic was timing to get through the obstacles - I think it was shooting but may have also been jumping.
Other details: If there's a playable version somewhere I'd love to finally beat it!
Just bought an IBM PS/2 Model 25 all in one. The seller said it had no display and beeped twice. I can confirm this is exactly what it does.
I took a look at the motherboard and everything looks fine. I installed a VGA card in one of the ISA slots and sure enough it boots completely fine. The two beep is a diskette controller error, but I’m not worried about that.
So what would be causing the built in display to have no picture? I’ve checked the brightness and contrast knobs and they are very hard to turn, not sure if that’s by design or if they’re gunked up, but either way adjusting them does nothing. I can’t hear high voltage when I power up the machine, so my thought is that it’s potentially not getting power? Just seems weird that it would POST but not have any display if it was a power issue, but I have zero experience with this machine so I don’t know if that holds true.
Any ideas?
Update: I took it apart. I have to rant for a second.
IBM clearly designed these to be thrown away rather than repaired and that’s kind of a shame. The power plug is riveted to the metal shielding around the monitor, which means the rivets have to be drilled out to take it apart. There are wires soldered together between some of the boards, so it requires desoldering to disassemble fully. It’s ridiculous.
Anyways, some of the capacitors are leaking quite badly on the tops of them. My guess is the issues revolve around those caps. There’s almost 60 caps in total so I’ve got my work cut out for sure. I just hope I can get it all back together when everything is said and done!

I recently got an Origin Neuron RTS RTX 3070, but after downgrading from windows 11 to 10, Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is showing up instead of my GPU (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070) as my display component in System Information, as well as under Display Adapters in Device Manager.

The first one didn't work, and the second one (which looks for missing drivers or drivers that need updating) requires buying $30 software.
[Edit: I also looked for driver's using my computers auto search option (under "update drivers" when right clicking "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" in Device Manager) but it says my drivers were up to date. Someone here mentioned looking at the NVIDIA website for drivers. Which I am doing now, and may actually be the solution: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/]
I will keep looking, but I figured I'd ask here as well. I can only plug in one monitor to my PC, using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, and none of the three DP ports on the graphics card work (one HDMI and three DisplayPorts)
Does anyone have suggestions that don't involve physically removing the GPU? It was just working on windows 11, so I don't think that is the problem

Solution: I went to https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/ and downloaded GeForce Experience, which automatically checks and updates your GPU drivers. Since this is a new computer, I had forgotten about that app. Thank you, to the lovely commenter :)
So today we had 2 (different model) HP laptops of VIP users that decided they don't want to use MS wireless display adapters (V2) anymore. They connect and then just show a black screen with a mouse cursor. Then I connect my own laptop and everything works fine.
I've worked on this with my boss and we tried everything we could think off. Reboot/reset everything, updating drivers and firmware, changing settings, you name it. At this point we're about to just reinstall the laptops but I'm sure the users won't like this at all.
Has any of you seen this issue before and where you able to fix it?
I need to test a Apple 23" Cinema HD Display M8536 - M8537ZM/A, but I can't find which adapter use for my pc. I don't have a mac. I don't know if the ADC to hdmi adapters would work here, or should I go with ADC to DVI then DVI to HDMI . Or if there is anything which converts ADC to USB-C I can use that too but I don't think they exist.

Can anyone recommend a display to hdmi adapter for my 2nd monitor? I want to plug my 2nd monitor display port into a adapter which will fit the single hdmi in my video card.
