Just wanted to introduce myself – I'm Liza and I organize the Providence Streets Coalition, an alliance of groups in PVD that work towards safer streets and more transportation choices. We believe in constructing streets in a way that lets all people move safely and easily no matter how they travel – whether driving, walking, biking, taking buses, scooting, skating, and/or using mobility-assistance devices.
Our current priorities are:

Supporting the City's Great Streets Plan (they have a meeting about Broad Street tonight!) that will make walking, biking, skating, and scooting way easier and safer throughout PVD.

Fighting the State's multi hub bus system proposal that will tear up Kennedy Plaza (again) and make taking the bus more difficult and confusing. We have an event about that tomorrow night.
In non COVID times I also organize the monthly Providence Bike Jam ride, a dance party on wheels. Hope to get back to that next year.

Is it hard to find on street parking (permit only or no restrictions) in providence?
I’m a potential new transplant and some of the places I’m looking to rent don’t come with off street parking. I have lived in neighborhoods elsewhere where permit parking was a nightmare and you can be circling for an hour looking for a spot, and have to hike up to your place. Not looking to do that. But the markets pretty bad right now so I don’t have a ton of options.
I’m also concerned about when guests need to visit and where they could park without a permit.
Some of the streets to the extent helpful are Penn st and parkis Ave

Providence “Slow Streets” Over?
A couple of days ago, Governor Street’s barriers were removed.
Personally I am sorry to see them go: Governor’s been out of control in recent years with speeders, many of whom are also distracted, so even if it’s broad daylight and you’re at a corner, as a pedestrian crossing it can be risky. Someone getting badly injured or killed seems likely.
Are all the Slow Streets gone, anyone know?
