History of the Hebrew Alphabet

Found this interesting video (& series) by Douglas Vogt on the Hebrew Alphabet. I'm linking this particular video because I see some potential connections to the occult, and wanted to spur some discussion & see what you all thought!

There's a few videos in the series and he has some other work that branches off of this series and ties into some astrophysics, conspiracies, and such- if y'all are into that I do recommend checking it out as well.

A manual alphabet for Phoenician (or Hebrew or Aramaic) compared with the Phoenician and Qeklandic alphabets:

https://preview.redd.it/qpqw4rlwdm941.jpg?width=2016&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e7bd234e9979b57e3f643e3dc209284b0abb7b3

Unlike the Hebrew Manual Alphabet, this manual alphabet, based off of the American Manual Alphabet, was designed with the history of the alphabet in mind. Here is the origin of each signed letter along with comparisons with their written and Qeklandic counterparts:

Letter Name: Origin of signed letter: (A letter by itself in a cell means derived from that letter in the American Manual Alphabet) Written Equivalent: Qeklandic Equivalents: (Just the Letter Names since you can't type in Qeklandic ...yet.)
'Aleph A 𐀀 Alef, Shwa
Beth B 𐀁 Beth, Veth
Gimel C 𐀂 Gimel, Ghimel
Daleth D 𐀃 Daleth, Dhaleth
He' E 𐀄 He
Wau U 𐀅 Wau
Zain Z 𐀆 Zain
H"eth H 𐀇 H'eth
T"eth * 𐀈 T'eth
Yodh I 𐀉 Yodh
Kaph K 𐀊 Kaf, Khaf
Lamedh L 𐀋 Lamedh
Mem M 𐀌 Mem
Nun N 𐀍 Nun
Samekh S** 𐀎 Samekh
"Ain O 𐀏 "Ain
Pei P 𐀐 Pe, P'e, Fe
S"adi * 𐀑 S'adi
Qoph Q 𐀒 Qof
Resh R 𐀓 Resh, Rhesh
Shin *** 𐀔 Shin
Tau T 𐀕 Tau, Thau

* -Derived from A.M.A. Q since the Latin Alphabet has no cognates for those two letters, and since Qoph, T"eth and S"adi all are emphatic letters.

** -Latin S is a derivative of Greek Sigma, which gets its name from Samekh, but its form from Shin.

*** -The Vulcan Salute, which derives from Hebrew Shin.

The Phoenicians created the 1st alphabet in history, and it is the ancestor to many of the alphabets we use today! Outside the Canaanite sphere, it was spread by Phoenician merchants across the Mediterranean, where it was adopted and modified by many other cultures in Western Asia, Africa and Europe

The Phoenicians were the first to have a significant impact on the history of wine. Along with their alphabet, they spread wine-making knowledge to areas such as Greece, Iberia, North Africa, and Italy. They also spread amphorae, known as the "Canaanite jar," for the transport and storage of wine.

[University History essay] What are the advantages of the Greek alphabet compared to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and ancient Mesopotamian cuneiform?

Hi everyone, taking my first ever history class........... in university! Aha.

So far I've come up with

  1. It's unambiguous

  2. More accessible to people who are willing to learn it ( not reserved for elites)

My community college history teacher thinks that the Hebrews were slaves in Egypt

This is a secular college mind you, but my history teacher is a Christian, and he literally thinks that the Hebrews were slaves in Egypt, and that Moses fled with them in a mass exodus. He also included like 20 biblical characters in a history test. People who's only evidence of existing is from a book that says a man in the sky made the earth 6,000 - 10,000 years ago. I'm sorry, but if you let your irrational superstitions cloud your view of history, you shouldn't be a history teacher. It's just so sad that it seems like there isn't a field out there that isn't poisoned by people's religious mental blocks.

[Borrowing idea from /r/soccer] Who would you say would complete the alphabet of our best players in history?

Like the current thread on /r/soccer, who do you believe is the best player we've ever had whose names begin with a different letter of the alphabet? We've had countless fantastic players throughout our history, surely we can just about fill up the alphabet!

For example, G might be Gerrard.

List thus far (more than one can be added if necessary, or a decision can't be made):

A - Aldridge

B - Barnes; Beardsley

C - Carragher; Callaghan

D - Dalglish

E - Enrique...until a better one is thought of ;-)

F - Fowler

G - Gerrard; Grobbelaar

H - Heighway; Hyypia; Houghton; Hansen; Hughes

I - Ince

J - Johnston

K - Keegan; Kennedy

L - Liddell; Lawrenson

M - McDermott; McManaman; Molby

N - Neal

O - ^^^^Owen

P - Paisley

Q - McQue

R - Rush

S - Souness; Scott; St. John

T - Thompson; Toshack; Torres

U - Underwood

V - Venison. Executive decision to not put Virginia... Sorry lads!

W - Whelan; Wark

X - Xabi Alonso (yes, yes, I know). It was either put him here or have Abel Xavier.

Y - Yeats

Z - Ziege

And we're done! Just about. Great selection of players there. I know there are more, so if anyone has suggestions feel free to add them.
