A list of puns related to "Higher Place"
This is the article they talked about. It came out this Friday.
It's from the Hoop Collective, Brian Windhorst's pod where he, Bontemps and McMahon discussed the results at length. It's the 5th year the poll runs and it's highly predictive (barring serious injuries).
It's so predictive because Tim polls "likely voters" using the same proportions as the actual voting, so this is basically getting the real response of the voters themselves at this point in time.
They've said the overwhelming polls had the following ballot:
It seems the narrative for Steph this year is rock solid, no doubt propelled by a league leading (with the Suns) team record and breaking the 3pt record (which echos other "historic" seasons like Westbrook's triple double record).
LeBron's longevity has been talked about a lot, but it's still insane when you see numbers like this.
Top 10
Lebron (37 y.o.) - 28.7ppg
Kareem (38) - 23.4
Malone (37) - 23.2
Jordan (38) - 22.9

Just wondering if there's a reason the city isn't planning or helping make it easier for fiber optic internet to be available everywhere in the city? Is there a permitting reason for it? Or some bigger issue than they just don't think it's important?
Literally the only option available to me in Creston Heights is Comcast. AT&T doesn't even offer fiber here. I work from home permanently, a lot of my neighbors do too. My internet comes from an overhead line that goes in and out when the wind blows.
Never forget that you are the most important thing in higher education.
Without faculty and diplomas, there is no higher education. Advising, college sports, clubs, student newspapers, endowment management, it all disappears without faculty.
I once calculated how much tuition revenue my uni earns from my classes. It exceeds my pay by many multiples.
Every single non-faculty job on campus is riding on the coat tails of faculty. It is all optional and secondary. Yet the culture of higher ed, in my opinion, does not provide adequate respect to this fact. All these non-faculty people need to elevate their role relative to faculty because if we talked honestly about priorities, it would quickly become clear that non-faculty are by far the most dispensable of all.
Personally, I think Floyd Mayweather places higher because they had a similar level of resume - though pacquiao fought better fighters at the lower weight classes - but Floyd went undefeated.
Personally would have to favour B-Hop. Who would you go for?
You also get to ask questions about any dishes and are informed of any extra charges right away, rather than after you have already placed your order.
Edit: Itβs also good to use order straight from said restaurantβs website if youβre too socially awkward to talk with someone.
I remember when UVU (formerly UVSC) was deprecated as "UV High", an open-enrollment party school where the classes were super easy.
Lately I've been seeing some very knowledgeable and talented CS/IT graduates from UVU.
What's been going on over there?
Any Wolverines or employers have insight?
EDIT: I am actually from the 21th century, and know I can order something online. But where online (url/link/webshop)
In my local area (tri-state), I'm noticing an interesting situation where there is literally a hole in the middle of the market. I know there are inventory issues everywhere. I tried to boil things down to 2 small categories since there are endless variables:
Frame options:
- Aluminum
- Carbon
Spec options:
- Tiagra
- 105
- Ultegra
There's an abundance of inventory for Carbon and 105+, around $3500+ or something like that. And there is an abundance of Aluminum and < Tiagra, effectively ~$1000-$1800. But there's a massive gap for Aluminum + 105 (Domane AL5, Endurace 7, Emonda ALR 5, CAAD13, etc).
TLDR: Should I wait until Aluminum frames + 105s come in stock? Or pay extra now for the Carbon + 105s available, OR just go with any Tiagra set that I find?
Riding type: casual, but everything is casual until you get pretty good at something. I just want to buy one good bike to last "forever", and if I ride offroad, just get a separate set of wheels.
Thanks for any insight!!
If youβre going to sell then sell. I personally wouldnβt be able to live with myself when this thing rockets and you sold for a loss.
Doesn't need to be the best, just ideally looking for someone who's done this really recently at around level 200 but not in NG + yet- If theres a better boss of this in NG + Also open minded to that.
Imagine
I donβt have to imagine because this is my reality

What's the rationale for your response? ty!!!!
Some kind of really diversified bond fund or something? Or bad idea because still regularly loses money?
E.g original rent is 1000 and your tenant gives the place to someone else (sublet) for 1250. Pretty sure upcharging is illegal. What would you do?
EDIT: Thanks everyone for their responses. The reason behind this post was a recent discussion that began on uwreddit where students mentioned being significantly upcharged for their sublets. You can find the post here source
In my city (around 400k in Canada), all the Burger King's are hiring at $22.00/h and A&W's are hiring at $17.50/h. The hours have reduced as well. That's higher than a lot of other jobs around the same city that require some educational background. These are small examples, but the shortage of workers is really being felt.

"Alarming new figures suggest Omicron is already the dominant variant in Kent - and causing record case numbers in one borough.
In the first week of December, confirmed or probable cases of the strain accounted for just 10% of all those recorded in the county.
But early figures suggest Omicron numbers have since increased drastically, and now likely surpass those of the Delta variant.
Analysis of the current situation in Kent is made difficult by a 10-day delay in the government sharing full and complete data for local authorities.
But new figures published yesterday appear concerning.
They show that in the week up December 6 there were 1,156 confirmed or probable Omicron cases in Kent - a staggering difference from the 44 reported for that same week in premature data released last Friday.
Worryingly, early figures for the week that followed, up to December 13, already show 997 such cases in the county - more than 20 times higher than the same data set last week.
It remains to be seen what the final total will be next Friday, but the numbers suggest the variant - which is widely thought to be more transmissable than Delta - has now taken hold in the county.
But there is a stark difference in where the strain appears to be most prevalent.
Analysis of the final data for the week up to December 6 shows just 4.2% of cases in Thanet were confirmed or probable Omicron, while in Dartford this figure was almost 25%.
It likely explains the rapid rise in infections in the west Kent borough, which now has one of the highest Covid rates in the UK after a 46% weekly increase.
Initial figures suggest Dartfordβs rate will soar even further over the next few days as it repeatedly registers pandemic-high case numbers.
Across Kent as a whole, not since January have total infections been as high as they currently are, with 10,491 new cases in the week up to December 12, and a further 1,829 in Medway.
The countyβs infection rate - at 660 weekly cases per 100,000 people - is also higher than the national average of 558.
But reassuringly, just 5% of new cases across Kent are being seen in those aged 60 and over - a group considered more vulnerable to falling seriously ill with Covid. There has also yet to be a significant rise in the number of people with the virus in Kentβs hospitals.
On Tuesday, there were 176 Covid patients in the county - up 11 on the w

When a capitalist country has a higher GDP than a socialist country, it would then supposedly mean that quality of life is better and that its a much nicer place to live in. While there is certainly a correlation, GDP is far from a determining factor of quality of life. You can have a high GDP and a lower quality of life.
For this, it is important to realize what GDP is. GDP is a measure of the total volume of money that circulates in an accounting period. It is circulation of capital. This is not really determined by "higher quality goods", but by how many transactions are happening. This is very related to the turnover rate of capital, which is essentially how fast (money) capital goes around the economic circuit. The faster capital travels the circuit, the more goods are produced and exchanged. This could mean that more goods are being produced, but in reality, its not just the material goods that exit the assembly line that gets counted, but also the amount of loans given, the amount of stocks that are purchased, etc. This is called "financial capital", and produces no actual wealth. Then there are also many transactions involving "fictitious commodities", which is when you buy goods created out of nothing, like option & future contracts and cryptocurrencies. None of these things actually make society wealthier. And given socialist countries dont trade financial assets, logically their GDP would be lower, yet they could be producing the same amount of wealth or even more. I even had a capitalist this morning tell me how we create more wealth by having banks lend money to others banks and have them lend that money to other institutions etc, which indeed raises the GDP, but all you are doing is moving money from one place to another without creating any commodities.
GDP is a useful measure, but only in sofar only wealth generating processes (for society as a whole, not certain individuals) such as the production of goods is measured. Given non-productive economic processes are included with capitalist countries, GDP statistics are at best distorting and at worst deceiving.
Edit: not to mention that high GDP doesnt mean that everyone benefits. Income equality is just as important. High GDP and high income inequality means that just the top 1% see their incomes grow and not the bottom%.
Plus, economic materialism does not create ha
