A list of puns related to "Heatwave (film)"
I was wondering if their was any concerns about burning film in transit? Has anyone the unfortunate experience sending film to be developed and having be damaged by heat on the way?
Figured since a lot of places are in heatwave that normally arenβt I can share some tips that made a huge difference for my house without AC in a hot area. Amazon has blackout curtains and window tint film for reasonable prices, donβt let yourself boil alive if you can help it! Stay safe out there and keep hydrated!

Note: I am in Kelowna, BC, and a huge plume of smoke is visible from another large wildfire about 8km from the city. One of 4 major fires to start as temps exceeded 44C for the third day in a row. The province is a tinderbox.
**βIt went up in less than 10 minutes,β he said of the town. βI saw the fire come up the embankment by the Band office at the north end of town, The fire started so fast there was no time to do anything. A number of places on Main Street are on fire.β
RCMP are going door to door to tell residents to leave. Polderman says most of the residents are going south to Boston Bar.
On June 29, Lytton recorded a temperature of 49.6 C; the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada. It was the third day in a row that the community broke the record for hottest temperature ever seen in the country.

Thereβs been a lot of interest in the northwestern heatwave/heat dome lately. Please share new observations here.

I didn't realize just how hot it has gotten over there for some of you. It just hit me that I am not even remotely prepared to survive consistent outdoor temps over 100 degrees with no way to cool down using electricity. I don't really know where to start with fixing that.
I'm hoping that this ends for you guys soon and I'd like to hear what it's been like for you.
How safe is this? I have a 2 gallon red plastic gas can filled with 87 octane gas sitting in the garage.
Weβre having a heatwave.
Anything I need to worry about?
Feels like a fire hazard considering the garage is attached and under the bedrooms.
The title says it all.
Hey! Just thought I would share something Iβve discovered when my firstborn was a baby. I have summer babies and I live in Southern California. Today itβs supposed to be 107! Anyway, whenever I had to take the littles out the car is always an inferno, and the car seats are always super hot. They are always so sweaty, and the metal buckles can (and have!) burn them. So what I started doing is I filled an empty 2 liter bottle with water, and froze it. When we went to go anywhere, I took it with me, and while we were in the store or wherever, I put the frozen bottle in the car seat, and a blankie on top. If anything, it kept the back and seat of the car seat cool and the buckles chilled so when we came back it was much better.
So there ya go. I just want to share for everyone. It has saved me lots of anxiety when running errands in the summer. P.S. a frozen milk jug covers more area on the big back seats.
I know we had one recently but how likely is it that our power will go out or be asked to use less power (especially air conditioning) like whatβs happening in NYC or Seattle or Portland or elsewhere?
Currently in the midst of an intense heatwave that is not the norm for the area we live! I feel bad for my cats. They are melting.
We have fans set up, extra water bowls set up and I put some ice cubes in their water but they do not seem to care about the ice.
Any other suggestions to help furbabies stay cool in the heatwave?
