Whenever I sleep, my pillows sink in the gap between my mattress and my headboard. I’ve tried pushing my mattress closer to the headboard but it only works for at least half of a night before happening again.

Nobody has ever mentioned this problem before so I wonder if it’s just a problem I have or if it’s a common thing nobody talks about.

Additionally, is there a way to keep your mattress from sliding off your box springs? I’ve never seen anybody else have this problem and I definitely think it adds to my pillow problem but my mattress is constantly sliding off my box springs.

I will do what he says, he was obviously an expert. He was able to answer all of my questions clearly and was super informative. (The first exterminator was from Orkin, about 3 weeks ago, and was totally useless! 0/10 would recommend. He charged me $100 to crawl around on his hands and knees for 45 minutes, told me foggers are fine, and that I didn't have anything to worry about.)

Anyway the new, better pest guy told me that while they're kinda gross, they're really nuisance bugs because they don't carry disease or anything like that. He was trying to help me chill out lol. I'm really lucky -- I have 0 signs of being bitten. I have no reaction on my skin. In theory this should make it easier for me to sleep in my bed while the Aprehend works but I'm just terrified. Last night I literally slept at the foot of my bed curled up in a ball, as far away from the headboard as possible.

I don't have a bad infestation, in fact I've only seen 4-5 alive over the last 3 months and I have been SEARCHING. But he confirmed there is a nest of active bugs and eggs, etc. in my headboard.

Anyway, what do you tell yourself to get to sleep? I've even been considering sleeping pills for the next few nights to just knock myself out. The BBs have given me full on anxiety attacks and I am just a mess over this.

Hey everyone, I'm planning to make an extra large tufted wall mounted headboard that goes to the ceiling that is 80 inches wide by 108 inches tall. I'm in no way an expert, but I'm hoping someone here knows enough about upholstery, furniture making or woodworking and can confirm whether or not my approach is sound. Based on various tutorials I've read online for smaller headboards, I thought I would approach this in the following way:

1. build a rectangular frame out of 2 x 4s that is 80 in x 108 in
2. attach (3) 1/2 inch thick sheets of 4 ft x 8 ft plywood to the frame with staples or nails and trim the excess
3. mark/measure/drill holes for tufting in the plywood sheets
4. adhere 3 inch thick high density upholstery foam to plywood sheets
5. apply quilting batting on top of the foam
6. mark/cut holes for tufting in the upholstery foam and batting
7. sew upholstery fabric together along the center (otherwise it's not wide enough), cover buttons and then upholster
8. attach to the wall (studs) with brackets

I'm most concerned about the final headboard weight since the plywood sheets are already very heavy and I don't want the headboard to fall on me in bed. I'm also concerned that this won't be secure enough and if I should reinforce the original frame with more 2 x 4s (and if so, by how much). Please let me know what you think, I can't seem to find any details online for a tufted headboard/wall panel of this size.

I'm looking to make an upholstered headboard.

1. What kind of thickness is common for a project like this?
2. What's a good, cheap way to get filling? I'm not sure what terms to search for. It seems like a twin mattress foam topper will be 75" long, and I need at least 72" for a Cal King, so that could be an option?
3. If I use foam, how much does density matter for a headboard? It'll never bear full body weight or take a lot of abuse, so I'm guessing it's more about how squishy I want it to be?
4. Do you have a preferred adhesive to stick it to a board?
