A list of puns related to "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas"
The last few days have kinda merged into one. The blackouts had been hitting us both pretty hard. Selected highlights include: me shitting my pants after trying to force a pee out in the grocery store, her melting a toaster on the stovetop, the cat going missing for a day because she accidentally let him out.
It started yesterday when I woke up. I knew I only had like 2 beers left and would have to go to the store. She only had the very last dregs of a bottle of red wine and some rum. I'm surprised she didn't wake me up early and tell me I had to go to the store. As I stumble out of bed with a raging hangover she asks if I want coffee. Neither of us drink coffee when we're on a bender. The absurdity of it makes me laugh.
As I polished off the last of my beers I held off on announcing I was going to the store. Knowing her she'd want me to go right fucking now. I was expecting her to get impatient and announce she was going to the grocery store for x, y, z but she never said anything. An hour later I was deliberating finally telling her I was going to the store when she absentmindedly pulls up a grocery bag and lifts out a bottle of wine. "I got this. Do you want some?" She went to the store before I even woke up. Of course. It's white, cheap, gas station wine. Neither of us drink white. I asked when she went to the store and she just waved it off with "oh, before." In hindsight I should have picked up on the fact that she hadn't opened it herself after getting back from the store.
As I'm on my 3rd glass I find it curious she hasn't told me to slow down or accused me of being 'selfish' for drinking so much. She's only had half a glass of the wine and normally drinks as quickly as I do. We're outside smoking cigarettes and she keeps calling all these healthcare lines to scream at people for needing a root canal. Apparently she wants one done right now or she'll die. I can see this descending into rant mode so stub out my cigarette and go inside so I don't have to listen to her talk about how she needs to have portions of her skull removed and how the healthcare system in this country has just gone to "complete shit".
She comes in not long after me and plays with the cat in his tower. She sinks to her haunches and starts talking to no one about how she can't make this relationship work. Here we go. "I try, and I try, and I try" she mumbles, "I try everything to make this work and it's just not good enough for you. You demand so much from me. So much.

What's your favorite gift that you've given this year?
You won't live to see next year.
Hoping to hear some experiences or encounters from people who have them. Something spooky that has happened around Christmas time or around.
