A list of puns related to "HDMI Licensing"
i can't find the answer
diy mains wiring is illegal and i think the acmi says diy telephony wiring is also illegal
how about home entertainment? wires through walls, connector plates and wall mounted speakers.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Kind of scared to be labeled an idiot but I need to write this because I'm so confused to absolutely no end, every single day. This is not an exaggeration. I get at least 3-4 task a day that make literally no sense whatsoever to me, I need to stress this as much as I can, they look unsolvable, I spent hours reading texts and emails and still cannot see any form of solution, and even if that solution ends up existing, most of the time I never actually see it work.
I started at my company in early 2018 and so far this has not improved in the slightest, if anything, it's worse. It drains the life out of me. I get calls to fix this and that in various programs that I never heard of before in my entire life. We have some entire departments full of advanced users that can buy and download whatever they like, and they call our 5 people IT department about any issue in any software. We somehow support everything on the planet.
I got a call asking why a tool set in a davinci video editor does not work. I got asked why the "elster" online tax file system doesn't accept a specific report. I just sit there blank because I just heard of these things for the first time 7 seconds ago and now I'm supposed to solve all these things, even things I have no admin access and no backend to. The users get angry, I ask my managers and they get angry as well and say find a solution WE HAVE TO FIX IT FOR THEM...WE JUST HAVE TO. Several times I was stuck with another support hotline for hours because I can't even explain the issue as well as the user could as I have never used or touched the software before.
One time I was called by another manager and asked about electrical schematics and layouts of some siemens microcontroller that was newly bought a few days ago, I had no chance of finding any of this, he just got mad that I'm not helping him and I sit here staring at my empty desktop wondering what I could possibly do.
I have no idea why we're on call for anything imaginable. I genuinely counted the calls and tasks and I found that I need 12-15 things come in for ONE to be solvable. I get tons upon tons of things thrown at my feet, none of which I ever claimed to be well versed in. Fix this in NAV dynamics 2009. Why doesn't 3 Liter PPS accept this input. How does this barcode scanner not work.
I have no idea about any of these things. I can do nearly everything in windows AD, manage office 365 licenses, that's what I have solid knowledge in but not what feels like a thou
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hey guys, Iβve got a small 5 server homelab here, and Iβve recently added a server with a βproperβ server motherboard from Supermicro, and have fallen in love with its IPMI solution.
Iβve been looking around for some similar IP KVM solution, but they all fall under either category:
PiKVM seems like a decent contender, but Iβm a bit scared of the idea of having to solder things together.
What are you guys using for remote management? It seems like itβs almost cheaper / less work to buy new motherboards for all my servers that have IPMI, which seems insane to me.

Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"

Can someone smarter than me tell me where the petabytes of digital content are going to be stored? I'm kinda smooth and if someone with wrinkles could give me a TA;DR that would be cool. I figure we'll all make transactions that get validated on Loopring's parallel blockchain, rolled up and submitted to the Etherium/ERC-20 blockchain... but do our machines hold a copy of the second layer blockchain, or both, or is that the difference between the old and new wallets? Or do our wallets just hold the headers of either/both blockchains, and does that include all blocks or just LRC transactions? I feel like calling my Ledger a "wallet" is kinda misleading. For the games/content itself, could all that content be seeded across our devices like Tor?
The idea of trustless contracts is a great one, but at the end of the day, if my NFT just gives me the right to access a game that remains hosted on one of Gamestop's servers, they may eventually choose to stop hosting it, just like the Legend of Korra Video Game by PlatinumGames on the Microsoft store π... (unless there's a smart contract that they can't stop hosting it? That seems non-enforceable, but hell, any contract, smart or not, requires the good-faith participation of both parties. Right? I'm sure they can automate repercussions...?)
Unless, maybe, there's a finite number of digital copies of (as I understand there should be in an NFT marketplace) and the blockchain just keeps track of their owners, and in a used sale, the buyer literally downloads the copy from the seller. But what if the seller smashes their machine to shit during the transfer?I'm sure they could just create a copy of one of Gamestop's copies, slap a new token on it, and retire the old token? Or, at any time, what if the owner doesn't want to have the game downloaded to their machine? What if no one has it downloaded, not even Gamestop? Do I still own it? Are we back at the issue of licensing vs ownership?
I suppose decentralized storage is not a new concern. I think of my N64. I physically own it, and I physically own the games, but I can't force them to make TV's with A/V inputs. I can get an hdmi/RCA adapter, but what about when hdmi goes out of style? I guess I need to keep a tv with hdmi, or just get a damn emulator. And I should've known better than to delete Legend of Korra off my Xbox360.
If you read this entire thing, congratulations, you're dumber now. You're welcome.

Hi,
I moved to Ireland in 2021 so I'm not sure how the TV License works. We (a couple) rented a house that didn't have a TV, and we bought one that we literally use as a monitor since we don't have a TV service - we just have a wifi. We don't even use Netflix. We plug a HDMI cable from the laptops. We got a letter (addressed to a previous tenant) saying our TV license expired and we must renew it.
I read the FAQs on tvlicense.ie and it says you must pay the 160β¬ even if you don't have a service but have a TV set, just for the mere possibility of connecting it. This sounds insane to me, that I have to pay 160β¬ for a service I don't use at all... Can I just go to the TV license records office and say I don't have a TV?
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

Hello r/homelabsales !
My 2nd reddit post(going for another record long post too). I got the opportunity to take whatever I wanted from my company's storage unit so I rented a Uhaul and hauled away everything I could that looked interesting. In retrospect I should of taken more monitors as incentives there was probably a dozen more available.
I've never sold anything here of course or bought anything so please be patient with my responses 99% of my reddit usage has been just lurking.
Total of 43 devices (plus 3 freebies to those that want them). 96 sticks of extra HPE DDR3 memory. Over 300 pictures taken of everything, and boot logs, diagnostics etc. There are so many links and data on this page it is possible I did something wrong, if you see a bad link or wrong link let me know.
Hopefully the prices are reasonable if there is something that is not let me know.
I noticed on my phone anyway browsing the pictures with imgur doesn't allow me to zoom in very far, the pictures are all high quality so you can download them to your device or view on desktop may be better if you want to see the most detail. I already cropped/resized just about everything to make it more manageable sizes.
I've spent far more time on this than I expected, about a month of off and on work, so please forgive the pictures don't have today's date but instead have the current month. If you want an easier way to view the inventory you could download my Libre Office spreadsheet that is my master copy of stuff. So if you suspect an error in this post, try checking that to see the original data. Also the spreadsheet has more details than this post has on system configs, software versions, etc etc. I also made a very basic text only web page which has minimal info such as model numbers, price, and links to images and boot logs, etc etc.
Ideally don't want to ship, but am willing to, see below for server shipping options. But am happy to deliver stuff for the cost of gas ($100 minimum order). I think $0.45/mile (round trip) starting from Modesto, CA 95350(using Safeway as city center) to your location or meeting point. I'm currently willing to go up to 200 mi(~$90) from my location which includes areas such as:

Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
