Additional gardaí are to be deployed to support businesses and the public and trainee gardaí from Templemore are to be used for high visibility policing RTÉ News has also learned that the Garda College in Templemore is also to be made available as a medical centre for the Midlands in the event of large numbers of people requiring treatment for the coronavirus. The gardaí have set up a National Co-ordination Centre reporting to the Deputy Commissioner and are finalising their policing plans in response to the coronavirus. Extra gardaí are to be deployed around businesses such as supermarkets and chemists to provide reassurance and support to business and the public.
