With the housekeeping out of the way, here are some prompts to get you started on your discussion post this week. We have a cracking class discussion planned for this content, so the more you explore these ideas in your post, the better equipped you will be for that discussion.

• How do you know what ideas are true?
• Is it possible to be equally convinced by an incorrect and a correct answer? Or is there some kind of metacognitive information to use as a guide?
• Is there a difference between having an insight moment of your own (for example: generating a creative solution to a problem) and encountering the ideas of other people?
• Does our phenomenology serve as a general guide for the quality of all ideas? Or just our own?

I was recently watching a college lecture where the professor prefaced a discussion of game theory with "and the concept of a prisoner's dilemma is one of those things I am confident saying you are not an educated person in any meaningful sense if you have never taken the trouble to understand or learn it. The idea that we can map out the conditions under which cooperators will defect given individual incentives, even despite the fact that the collective incentive can be to cooperate for a higher payoff, is so fundamental to understanding the problems of the 21st century (like Climate Change) that I think it's only fair that we set our bar/expectations for the educated person high enough that they would know this enough to be able to act on it."

This got me thinking: what is your list (or solitary individual entry for what could become a larger list) of things every 21st Century person who likes to think of themselves as having achieved a serious education should know, but probably doesn't? I say "probably doesn't" because a list of what an educated person should know in general would be too long and (for the most part) too obvious for my purposes here (i.e. please don't say something like "the earth orbits the sun"). I also want people to emphasize knowing things that are considered groundbreaking in their respective fields and that may even have a practical or important connection to a larger issue, particularly the larger issues that we will be counting on the "educated (but common) person" to address in this century.

Pick any discipline you want, but try to meet my criteria. Here's mine! (A list like this is bound to sound opinionated and self-congratulatory because it's an attempt to list the things you think you already know but that many others don't, but for the same reason that the "rationalist" community has chosen a vaguely positive adjective for itself, and only aspirationally rather than narcissistically, I want you to put aside the self-conscious worry that you sound self-indulgent and just do your best to outline the greatest ideas an education can impart for someone aspiring to a true education)

These are not in any particular order from most to least important, but more "what occurred to me first," and it is bound to be horribly incomplete or include things it shouldn't--that's where you come in!

I'm sure you've noticed we've been doing a number of hotfixes since Chapter 2 launched to improve various aspects of the release. On top of those, we've also been hard at work on a number of features and improvements that require a client update and so here we are! A quick note on the patch timing: We wanted to get these out to you ASAP so the patch notes "editorials'' and other things we usually do are going to be a bit more sparse than usual. We've got some new features, balance changes, as well as a host of bug fixes, so let's get into them.

Custom Matches

A very popular player request is finally here! Groups of between 6 to 10 players will be able to set up custom matches of Dominion on their chosen map and server.

• Accessed from the gamemode select screen. Select Dominion and select “Custom” as the type.
• Must be a party leader of a party of 3 or more players to join or host a custom Dominion game.
• When the host creates and confirms the match settings, a match code will be generated and displayed on the play screen. This code can be entered by another party leader to join the custom match.
  • On PC, players can choose to hide the match code with an option in the Account menu (so, for example, a streamer doesn't have random folks joining their games) and use the copy button to get the code.
• Custom matches don’t grant match crowns, XP, chapter rep, or quest progress.

Dominion

• A new Banehelm map has been added. Watch your step!
• Added animation to the score bar to better show when players earn points via exile.
• Added animation to the score bar to show when points are gained by controlling objectives.
• When a player is exiled in game, a number showing how many points the team got for that exile will appear in-world at their last location.
• Updated level up alerts in Dominion to make them more noticeable, better communicate the time that the skill was granted, and what the newly gained skill does.
• Alerts stating that a zone has been captured are now much more noticeable.
• Added Minor Mana and Armor Blessings that give +5 Max Mana and +5 Max Armor respectively.
  • These only appear to players when there are no other boon options left and should fix the probably of capping out boons resulting in suboptimal choices.
• Fixed end of match Dominion scoreboard incorrectly breaking ties on
