So at one time back in 1910 ish there was a huge land boom in Langlois where folk founded a town around Floras lake with the idea that they'd cut a channel to the ocean and create the largest port between San Francisco and Seattle. Huge amounts of money was spent.. it was going to be the next big thing..

Then.. they cut a channel .. and the lake drained out.. because it's just enough above sea level to never be a port. And the whole thing went tits up and everybody lost everything. It's quite the story

Ive watched the series twice now and the thing I remain really confused about is Rebecca's possession of Flora. Almost every time we see Flora overtly possessed by Rebecca she ends up by the lake. In the beginning she is singing by the lake when Dani arrives. Miles, while being possessed by Peter, alerts Dani that Flora isn't in her room one morning and it ends up she is down by the lake. She comes to and starts screaming. Finally, she wakes up to find herself on the lawn and then walks really close to the lake like she is going to go in it.

I've read some threads where Rebecca's possession of Flora is to protect her from Peter's actions, but it seems very odd to bring Flora to the place where she discovered her au pair's body.

Also the way she was screaming when she came to was just like Rebecca when she found she was dead. Why was this? And how/why did Dani say Flora hated the lake and question why she would be down there? Flor made a comment about it being a filthy pond and whatnot, but when Dani met her she was sitting by it. Nothing leading up to Flora being found at the lake the first time would have made anyone think she hated it there.

Am I missing something?

I’m not sure if I’m missing something, or if I’m just thinking too much into it but the wing that viola was walking to every night was the parents wing. people could obviously see her because the plague doctor was talking to her and all the main characters can see her but how did the parents not notice some random dead woman walking into their bedroom every other night?
