A list of puns related to "Flemeth"
Man, I know I have been posting here allot but I don't know where else to ask these questions.
I finally fixed my game up and went through the Circle and Arl Quests, along with the Urn quest without issue. After I gave Morrigan the Grimoire, she talked to me again when i returned to camp to sell stuff to Bodahn. She does the normal thing and asks me to kill Flemeth. I agreed and after I did the Urn quest, I went to do it after recruiting Shale and doing Return To Ostagar. I went to the shack but Flemeth was nowhere to be seen. No matter what I did reloading, reloading to a save just after I got the quest, no matter what mods I have removed it still persists. She doesn't spawn and I have no idea what to do.
I know I can just runscript and get the item but I want to mark Flemeth dead as well since I do want to take her down. I really enjoy her fight, to be honest. Is there anything I can do?
Was replaying Inquisition again and just saved Celene. In the cutscene afterwards with Morrigan as I was going down the questioning tree and listening to her talk I slowly started to hear Flemeth in her voice. It was very subtle at first, but once I heard it I couldn't NOT hear it, and just felt the need, even all the years later to offer my applause to Miss Black. Phenomenal voice work! That leaves me curious as to some of your favorite examples of voice acting from the series.
In dragon age 1 you have the choice to not kill Flemeth after confronting her about her plans. In dragon age 2 Flemeth reveals that prior to being confronted she gave Hawk a small trinket that contained a portion of her soul and could be used to resurrect her should she have died.
I wonder then in DA4 if you chose not to kill Flemeth, if this will be addressed. In theory there could be two flemeths hanging around theadus. One that solas betrays and kills and the other one that I would assume is hiding away.
If that's the case I'd love to meet her and discuss what she did and didn't know ahead of time. I'd love to have her as an advisor like morrigan or even a companion. Perhaps with her powers gone she's only as powerful as a normal mage (maybe on par with a grand enchanter) and then at some point perhaps she makes a bid to try and regain the power that solas stole.
Just something that occured to me as I replayed DAI
Title. If you ask about her magic as a mage after Ostagar as a woman sheβll say she could use another daughter. As a man sheβll say something about having a handsome lad to order around in exchange for her secrets.
I think an eleven mage studying under her has the potential to be very interesting. Thoughts?
I noticed tonight that Flemethβs hut is remarkably free of furniture. Thereβs a couple of bookcases and bench covered in junk and a weird desk thing on barrels. And one single solitary bed!! Where was Morrigan sleeping, did she have to curl up on the floor like a dog all those years? No wonder she was so grumpyβ¦
We mostly hear them talk about and even see them(mostly Morrigan) transform into beasts, even into a dragon. However, what about transforming into a different human? Like, could they become someone else they see around them, or even someone completely new? This question just came to me, and wanted to discuss it.
Disclaimer: Iβm not sure if anyone has discussed this, if so, I apologize Iβve yet to see it :))
During the last cut scene of the base game in Inquisition, you see Solas kills Flemeth right? Thatβs what I thought as well before my second playthrough where I saw Flemeth tampering with an eluvian before Solas killed her.
It didnβt occur to me at first but then I remembered what happened when Hawke asked Flemeth a question about the necklace during Merrillβs quest in DA2:
βJust a piece, a small piece that thatβs all I neededβ
So basically, the necklace had Flemeth inside if it. Theoretically, if Flemeth can put her life essence in a necklace, whos to say that she canβt store it in an eluvian too?
This would mean, Mythal isnβt dead.
So it may be a stupid question- but what exactly happened between her and Solas? I thought I knew the first time, but just finished up a second game play and now Iβm doubting my initial understanding.
Theyβre both apologizing to each other, notably Flemeth with βIβm sorry too old friendβ then bam, flemeth collapses and Solas looks to have absorbed something from her.
With trespasser I havenβt replayed yet, so my memory is a little fuzzy with his interaction.. but I do remember he seemed like himself, if not darker.
So did flemeth take over Solas or did Solas take flemethβs power? (For lack of better phrasing)
So, people kept being mad at "you must be willing" being said by Flemeth in Inquisition, like it makes Morrigan an unreasonable actor or something. However... read the robes of possesion.
"The original intent of these robes is clear: a "welcome home" present from Flemeth, designed to sap Morrigan's will and ease the ancient sorceress's possession of her daughter." So she needs a willing participant but the way she *makes* one "willing" is absolutely not okay and Flemeth in the end is still a horrible bodysnatcher.
Welcome to #TinfoilTuesdays where we discuss a point of #DragonAge lore.
This week's topic:
What's next for Flemeth and Morrigan?
Just a quick one for this week's topic that came out of my playing around in Photoshop with screenshots of Flemeth and Morrigan the other day. I know we discussed Morrigan and Yavana a few weeks ago, and I'm yet to finish the upcoming post on Flemeth...
I noticed that Flemeth and Morrigan bear an uncanny resemblance, though it's unclear if Morrigan is actually Flemeth's biological daughter. It's known that Flemeth took Wilder men, but unclear if they were involved in siring her daughters. Is this a case of inherited good looks or something more? Yavana also has gold eyes (as an aside, whether Yavana was actually killed by Alistair in The Silent Grove is questioned in The World of Thedas, Volume 2.)
Will Morrigan inherit the essence of Flemeth's godhood? Was that Flemeth's plan for the glowing essence she pushed through the eluvian before Solas found her and "absorbed" her power in the post credits scene? This does seem to be addressed in the developers' notes, but they may not be accurate. Just how many wisps/fragments was Flemeth carrying? I've always assumed that the essence we saw go through the eluvian was the Old God soul of Urthemiel that Flemeth retrieved from OGB Kieran. But, if OGB Kieran does not exist, whose essence was it? Could it instead have been another wisp of Mythal/Flemeth? We've seen Flemeth use "horcruxes" before. That would satisfy both world states, and align with the developers' notes. It will be interesting to see how Flemeth's plan for Morrigan changes for those who had Morrigan drink from the Well of Sorrows/not drink. It's also not clear if Flemeth intends to possess Morrigan; everything we have been lead to believe thus far points to this - but when talking to Flemeth in DA:I, she doesn't actually confirm or deny this. Flemeth does talk about Morrigan paying her "due", but then goes on to say, "A soul is not forced upon the unwilling... You were never in danger from me." Does that mean no possession? Or Morrigan will be willing, one day? Do we think Flemeth is actually dead? We have "killed" her before... So many questions!
As an aside, during this scene in DA:I, Flemeth says, "I am but a shadow, lingering in the sun." When we meet OGB Kieran, he says about Morrigan, "Mother is the inheritor, she who awaits the next age." We know the song, "The Dawn Will Come", from the Chantry hymn sung in DA:
... keep reading on reddit β‘So Iβm currently replaying Dragon Age: Inquisition and a thought occurred to me during In Hushed Whispers. And Iβm sorry if someone else has already asked this question, but this is the first time Iβve played the game as anything other than a mage and I brought Solas along for the mission just for fun. And he like any other companion is stuck in a cell and corrupted by red lyrium. Now we know that Solas is a powerful enough mage that he was seen as a god by ancient elves and by Trespasser heβs basically back at (or really close to) god level power. However my question is, how much of his trespasser power came from the piece of Mythal he took from Flemeth? Because the Solas that we deal with in trespasser wouldβve already dealt with Corypiss and Alexius by the time Inky and Dorian show up. But we see Solas trapped in a cell, corrupted by red lyrium and lamenting on his mistakes. And if the source of his new magical strength is the piece of Mythal, would stripping it from him (if thatβs even possible) stop him?
Flemeth is one of my favorite DA characters, and I just realized something that might come into play in the next game.
So you know how, in DA2, Flemeth gives you a sparkly and asks you to take it to the mountain top outside Kirkwall?
She seems surprised that you actually did it, and didn't just sell the charm. She thanks you and tells you that you may have saved her life.
We all wonder what really happened at the end of DAI. Is Mythal dead? What did she put in the Eluvian?
Quick aside, that scene is so well done. You can see the obvious love between her and Solas, the sorrow in both of them, her sad scolding and his intense regret, the whole thing is just beautiful.
But I have a theory.
Because in DA2, Mythal was standing there as she handed you the amulet. She helped you get through the darkspawn and to the ship that would take you to Kirkwall.
So, there's the possibility that the amulet had a wisp of her essence, and when you performed the ritual, you woke it up.
Which means that there may be two Mythals, one in Ferelden and one in Kirkwall. Which means that, when she says you may have saved her life, she knew that Solas might need to absorb her power, and if he does, there will still be a version of her in the Free Marches, even if somewhat weakened.
We know that Solas sucks at back-up plans, but Mythal doesn't. She would have back-up plans for her back-up plans. She would have foreseen the possibility of Solas needing her power if shit goes sideways, so it makes sense that she would have spent years planning for that, long before he woke up.
So when he wakes up and shit goes sideways, she already knows that he will need her power, and she gives it willingly, knowing that her essence will live on in the Free Marches.
But it was also strange just how cavalier she was about the possibility of you selling the amulet. Which makes me wonder just how many charms she has out there, with wisps of her essence, just waiting to be woken up. She wouldn't have put the entirety of her existence in the hands of one random person, right? She always has a plan. Always some scheme up her sleeve.
You helped her, but her tone implies that, if you hadn't helped her, it would've been little more than a mild inconvenience. So what other back-up plans does she have? If there's a version of her hiding out in the Free Marches, how many other versions are out there? How many charms and amulets and trinkets are laying around, just waiting to be woken up?
I think she

That line alone shows the growth of Morriganβs character but I think itβs extremely poetic, in a sense, that fate (at least in my trilogy)binds Morrigan to her mother, Flemeth, the Elvan Goddess of Motherhood.
In Origins, Kieran is conceived as a tool to prevent the death of my Warden who is the lover of Morrigan.
Personally, I grew attached to her character as soon as she was introduced and, in roleplay, I knew it was only a matter of time before my Mage Warden who started out with an obsession for power and status (up until Redcliffe), fell under her charm.
During Witch Hunt, my Warden fled with Morrigan and was never seen again, however, over a decade later, Morrigan resurfaces to serve the inquisition and fulfill her own agenda; the Well of Sorrows.
I find it extremely fitting that Morriganβs greed for knowledge brought her back to her mother, whom my Warden slayed back in Origins to free her, only to be bound to her by her own choices.
She wanted the knowledge the Well brings and my inquisitor let her have it and that brought her back under the thumb of Flemeth who is Mythal.
I want to do an entire write up on the Morrigan and her character (or the arc that I created for her) because itβs probably my favorite point of the trilogy.
What made every choice I made for her worth it is seeing her grow, not only as a person, but to love her son as well and, personally I donβt think she quite understands Flemeth, her hatred feels misguided in a sense, now donβt get me wrong Flemeth was awful to her by basically locking her away and using her for her own schemes, but I really think Flemeth grew to love Morrigan the same way Morrigan grew to love Kieren.
I think this is evident when in the dialogue exchange between the three in the fade, she takes the Old Godβs soul out of him so he can be normal..but also safe because I think (head canon territory) Solas would have come after him had he kept the soul inside of him and Flemeth knew this and took it to protect the two and I donβt think sheβll ever be appreciated by her Daughter for this, but I think that shows how much Flemeth loves her and you can see how hurt she was when Morrigan said that line to her.
I think Morriganβs character arc involves her (unknowingly) becoming Flemeth through just life experiences and that is beautiful storytelling.
I really wish I could take the time to do a full, detailed write up for the sub, s
... keep reading on reddit β‘My boyfriend and I met via roleplay, and years later, weβre both still into that hobby. He sent me a profile of someoneβs dragon age OC where they were the Half-Brother of Morrigan, and subsequently abandoned in the Korcari Wilds for being a male. This profile is a mess for other lore breaking reasons (such as being a literal forest god???) and incredibly godmoddy but it got me thinking.
Flemeth has never mentioned producing males, she only ever has girls. And she has girls one at a time to take over their bodies as a new host for Mythal. Itβs basically impossible for Flemeth to have a son, right? And even moreso just completey abandon it, I refuse to believe she would do that as a Witch of the Wilds possessed by an Elven goddess.
Iβve searched everywhere I possibly can, short of installing and playing the games again (not that I donβt want to, my internet is just too slow to bother downloading them all again), and have found no information stating she can or canβt produce more than girls.
Hello gamers,
Im on my first DAO run and I need help with making a decision, Morrigan found out how Flemeth has lived for so long and is scared that she will do it to her too so she asked me to go and confront her.
If I go to Flemeth in the forest and confront her about that will I have to fight her?
If she dies does that have a big impact on the rest of the game or DA2/DA:I which I also plan on playing.
I would be thankful for an answer without too many spoilers if possible.
Excuse my bad english I tried my best lol.
So I was just finishing another playthrough of dragon age 2, and in the first act, where you bring flemeths amulet, she tells you that it's just small part of her whole and that she is in many places at the same time, does that mean that when solas 'killed' her, part of her still lives somewhere else?
So we all remember in Act 1, you travel to Sundermount to deliver Flemeth's amulet to the Dalish in exchange for her saving your family in the prologue. When the Dalish rite is performed and Flemeth appears again, she explains that the amulet had a small piece of her inside as a bit of security "in case the inevitable should occur."
She also again mentions that she had an appointment to keep in Ferelden just as she first mentioned to Hawke in the prologue. It's heavily implied that this "appointment" was the arrival of the Warden after Morrigan learned of Flemeth prolonging her life by possessing her daughters. I always had the impression that Flemeth had the amulet as a safeguard as she was expecting Morrigan to come after her and kill her - which is something you can absolutely do as the Warden when you visit Flemeth for Morrigan's personal quest.
But what I'm wondering is how does this work or what does this mean if your Warden didn't attack and kill Flemeth? What if your Warden chose one of the other options? Are there now two Flemeths out and about in Thedas? And how does this impact the ending of DAI when Solas takes Flemeth/Mythal's power?
Food for thought, I guess.
If a character doesnβt care for morrigan I can understand leaving flemeth alive. But then why would they give her the black grimore to trigger that part of the quest.
Okay, so I havenβt played the other dragon age games yet but Iβm planning on it, but right now I canβt say I know everything about Flemeth but could Solas not have just given his orb to her? I just feel like he could have saved himself a lot of trouble. Also how did he even know who Corypheus was and that he was alive? I probably didnβt pay enough attention but youβre help would be appreciated.
So I got the Black Grimiore gave it to Morrigan and she told me the awful truth about Flemeth and how she stays perpetually young...so of course I set out to kill her. However, when you talk to Flemmy she makes it seems like Morrigan is manipulating you.
Anyway, I killed Flemeth/dragon but I was wondering is there an "in story" official explanation as to whether Flemeth really does steal her daughter's bodies to continually live, or if Morrigan was lying? Or is it basically just up to the player's imagination?
Just realized I should add: I know this game is like 12 years old but I'm just playing it for the first time now
Come on guys seriously. She goes from being an old hag in origins to being a total GILF in DA2 and inquisition.
DA :O is probably my favorite game of all time. I was pretty young the first time I played it, so I wasn't able to fully appreciate the writing behind it. The voice acting. The lore you find in books and notes scattered throughout the world. All beautifully written. Im only a few hours in and to my first play through in 10 years and and I'm falling back in love. Looks like its time for a full playthrough of the series
In DA2, Flemeth tells Merill: "The people bend their knee too quickly."
This line becomes a lot more meaningful after DA:I. The Dalish revere the past and their "gods", but they don't know that their gods were tyrants and their markings are slave markings.
It's not surprising that Flemeth/Mythal is uncomfortable with Merrill's scraping and bowing. She used to be one of them.
Maybe this has struck people before, but it hit me just now.
I feel like her magic would be more powerful than a dragon form
When are we finally going to fuck?
β
No seriously, I want to know wtf is going on with her, and morrigan and the god baby.
β
Is dragon ages god baby actually a prequel story for gorions ward of baldurs gate? Do not ask me where I pulled that theory from.
Is Flemeth waiting for the blights to end before she finally acts out her plans? She always makes cryptic statements, but on a recent replay of βInquisitionβ wondered if she was speaking of the blights in her statement to Morigan and the Inquisitor.
She says,
βMythal clawed and crawled through the ages to me, and I will see her avengedβ then she says the following in a more somber sad tone
βAlas, so long as music plays, we danceβ.
Is the music a metaphor for the calling of the Old Gods to the Darkspawn and dance the battles during the blights?
