A list of puns related to "Finnish national road 5"
Third time trying to post this, wasn't working for some reason.
3 different races and 5 weeks of training to talk about, gonna be a long post. Going to start by talking about the 3 races I had this week. 1 on Wednesday and 2 earlier today.
7.16, Lane 2, 4th place, Wednesday 19th January
This was a really good race. Decent start, transition and top speed. It was all round just a pretty well run race. There isn't really much else to talk about with the race itself. This was the first heat so I got 4th overall at the meet and was the second youngest out of the 48 people there (most of them were masters athletes). This was a big improvement on the 7.25 I ran back in December.
In regards to the days/week leading up to race, I think I handled it very very well. I went for a very high intensity, high rest kind of approach and it worked well. The 5 days leading up to the race looked like this:
5 days out: 2x30m, 5x10m fly followed by drop jumps and bounds
4 days out: REST
3 days out: 5x30m, 1x10m fly followed by more drop jumps, a power complex (quarter squats/band assisted jumps) and a little core work. The idea with this session was to get some really high neural outputs to kinda potentiate for the race.
2 days out: REST
1 day out: shake out session, some light drills and accelerations, no spikes
So ye it looks like there isn't much rest in there but I actually felt very well rested before the race. Usually I would do some kind of plyo session the morning of the meet but I didn't do anything like that and I think it worked better I think.
7.21, Lane 7, 6th place, Sunday 23rd January
This was the first of my 2 races today. It was pretty bad to be honest. I think I minorly fucked up my warm up did too many warm up sprints, like I did 5 all-out 30m block starts. Don't know what I was thinking but it was probably too much. Also, the race before me was probably the fastest 60m in Irish history, 3 out of the top 6 times ever ran in 1 race and Isreal Olutunde lowering his under 23 record from 6.67 to 6.64, such a sick dude. Anyway I got so caught up watching this race and congratulating the guys afterwards that I completely forgot I was in the next race. Had to set up my blocks and do 1 warm up run while basically everyone else was ready to go. Kinda embarrassing and didn't give me any time to calm down and get into the zone before t
... keep reading on reddit β‘I read an article today about a Finnish university that published a comprehensive global road map on how the world can reduce its carbon emissions before the 2050 deadline β and research shows that it is feasible!
The study is the first of its kind to outline a cost-effective international strategy to keep the planetβs carbon emissions at 1.5 degrees Celsius.
In fact, the sustainable energy system is more efficient and cost-effective than the existing system, which is based primarily on fossil fuels and nuclear.
As of right now, 1/3 of the worldβs energy is renewable. With population growth and energy demand in mind, the researchers say that we could meet the Paris Agreementβs carbon mitigation goals by generating 69% of the worldβs energy from solar panels, 18% from wind power, 3% from hydropower and 6% from bioenergy.
Additionally, all the energy transitions could be paid for simply by giving up on fossil fuels entirely.

Here is the report which breaks down exactly how the world can transition to 100% renewable energy as a means of preventing the more catastrophic outcomes of irreversible climate change.
Does this give anyone more hope for the future of our planet? I would love to hear all of your thoughts.
