One justification given for the US Electoral College system is that it forces candidates to actually spend time in places other than just California, Florida, and other high population states in order to gain votes and win election.
Do other countries that use only a popular vote to elect heads of their executive branch, or equivalent office, have candidates focusing disproportionately on population centers during elections? If no, how is this achieved?
I was raised in a small town in SE Minnesota called Lewiston. A town small enough, your mom knew you got in trouble before you did. In that small town, I learned the importance of valuing all people and that communities that do this can reach their potential.
I think we’ve had enough of divisive politics, as well as working hard and not getting by, when millionaires and billionaires are doing better than ever. It’s time to turn the page, it’s time to write a new chapter. Not just for Minnesota but for America.
It’s time America got a working voice for working people. I’m ready to put the working Americans ahead of establishment politics and special interests, because I know how to find success, knowing that we all have value.
A little bit about our race: Bernie Sanders won the CD2 Caucus. Last time Jason Lewis went up against Health Executive Angie Craig and were both so unpopular they got the least number of votes in our district for their party.

And, Obama won the district in 2012.
This is a winnable seat and is in the top 10 districts to watch in 2018.

As I'm sure many of you know, Virginia's new Governor Youngkin issued an executive order allowing parents to opt-out of school mask mandates without giving a reason. Our school district has announced that we will still retain our rules about masks.
How should I navigate this in terms of enforcing mask rules? This seems to be a legal disagreement that is above my pay grade. I would like to say that the school district has given clear guidance on how we handle these situations (such as what parents need to do to opt-out) but I don't think that will happen before we are already at school. I want to continue enforcing the mask rules because I think that is what is best for students, but I would also like to know whether I am risking legal trouble.
