A list of puns related to "Eochaid mac Γeda Find"
I've been a Windows user for most of my life (with only occasional use on my brother's), but I just got the new Macbook M1 due to my thoughts on ARM architecture being the future. My opinion: I absolutely love the performance on the M1. It's outstanding! I also love the battery life and Unix terminal. But I wish some of that budget went to software improvements. I use a ton of shortcuts and little-known features to make life easier and I've found MacOS to have lackluster functionality in terms of shortcuts which used to be so banal in Windows like Alt+Tab or simple swiping to the side to make multiple displays. I've even used third party ones like Spectacle, AltTab, etc. but nothing can recreate the ease of use of the Windows OS in my opinion. I'm so torn on what to do as I can still return my Macbook, but I need a new laptop and I don't think any Windows laptop can compete on performance. I wanted to love the M1, but I just can't fathom spending the rest of my life without some of these extremely basic things.
Has any other Windows user also switched to macOS and realized he or she prefers the Windows OS significantly insofar as they would even sacrifice some performance and battery life? What would you recommend? Is there any Windows laptop you think is comparable? I do not do anything that's requires insane performance outside having up to 40 tabs open and also compiling rather large programs. I realize I'm asking this in the Apple sub so if anyone can also share their experiences with switching from Windows that would be great.
Some of my main issues:
I have to use Windows for at least one more year for work. I've used Windows all my life, but I bought the new Macbook as my personal computer because I've heard great things about its performance (even though not a fan of the OS). I'm worried though about being as efficient with the shortcuts and workflow when I have to use both about half the time. I'm still in my 14-day trial period though so I can return the macbook if needed.
My question: For those who are forced to use both, do you find it difficult to get used to the keyboard shortcuts and workflows? Or do you always feel like you're sacrificing 5% of your efficiency by using both and not having a solid, established muscle memory on one platform? Cmd vs Ctrl, alt vs. option. Not sure if I'll ever fully be able to switch seamlessly between these configurations and also even things like using the finder vs windows explorer. It seems like I would always be trying to "mix them together" for everything. There are complexities too. For instance, in Windows I use the option "make active window by hovering over it". Whereas for Mac I can't even find this as an option to use (IF SOMEONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO IF THIS IS POSSIBLE ON MACOS PLEASE LMK). With Windows I use Alt+Tab for navigating between my windows and Mac I use workspaces (virtual desktops) so it's not even just shortcuts that are different but even the workflows themselves.
Any thoughts for those who use both? Do you feel like you're sacrificing efficiency? And if you're someone who uses both, please specify if it's my choice or compulsory (basically have to).
This is a very odd and very specific request, I know, but I'm looking for the closest thing to a Big Mac in the Valley without buying an actual Big Mac. (I swore off McDonald's years ago for a variety of reasons - some personal, some ethical)
I'm hoping to find a knock-off version served by a local restaurant that's as close to the real thing as possible. Example: Green Restaurant sells a vegan version called the "Big Wac" but doesn't taste the same.
M1 Pro 14". Previously used a 32" 4k monitor. Font smoothing off, using FF/preview for comparison.
Recently purchased both a M28U (4k @ 144hz over USB-C), and a MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD (1440p @ 144hz/165hz), over HDMI 2.0), both of which are highly rated by rtings.
Rtings and others suggest that at around 27", 1440p is a better bet than 4k, due to the way mac handles ppi and hidpi.
In comparing the two side by side, unless I'm doing something terribly wrong, there's no comparison as far as text quality goes - 4K is far more clear, at native, 1440p scaled (that surprises me!), and 1080 scaled (which is a recommended way to go on mac as well). My 1440p monitor produces artifacts like this https://imgur.com/a/ZnH10SP, which might be typical 1440 performance?
What I don't understand is how a company like rtings, which presumably has plenty of monitors to set up for direct comparison, would find this to be the case. I feel as though I must be doing something wrong or that I must be having a unique issue.
I've seen posts about forcing hidpi on 1440p monitors via dummy displays, however I don't expect that this would be considered normal practice (and creates it's own issues, such as 60hz+ performance).
Do you use a 1440p monitor? Have you done some modifications to make the text look better? I'd love to hear from you!
Maybe Iβm just high but Iβm glad my wife and child are out of the house. Because I just cried my eyes out over this ending. And Iβve seen it before!
Iβve been experiencing a lot of emotions nearing the anniversary of my momβs death. It was over 25 years ago but it still messes with me. And I had a rough relationship with my father that Iβm currently estranged from.
This scene unlocked a well inside me and I cried harder than I have in years. For myself. My mom. My dad. For Mac. For not getting what he needed but having the courage to find it within himself and to build something beautiful out of it. Maybe Iβm misinterpreting it. Maybe iβm high. But It was a truly cathartic cry. (That rhymed.)
I know this isnβt the type of shit the gang would like to hear about but it meant a lot.
I love mac n cheese but have heard mixed things, so its an expensive risk..
** I have already posted this on more related subreddits like r/Netflix, but people basically suggest using Windows Netflix App which I can't on my Macbook, so I am looking for a Mac-related solution **
Majority of non-netflix-original films, such as "Don't Breathe" are stuck at 540p resolution when played on browsers. (any browser: Safari, Mozilla, Chrome, Edge) regardless of device model or operating system. (Windows, MacOS, Linux) etc. This is independent of internet service providers (tested on a variety of them). My current speed is 100mbps, and while some films are literally stuck at 540p (i.e. The quality doesn't vary, it doesn't go up or down, it is literally stuck at specifically 540p even if I wait for hours this won't change), some films -mostly Netflix originals- are played at 1080p right away. I had my friends and relatives test this situation from different places around the world and the same issue is there for the same movies. Also, many people have been reporting this problem on Reddit & forums since at least 2019 and there seems to be no working solution. Only way to get these titles to play at 1080p is by using Windows NetflixApp, but this solution is limited to Windows devices only and for Mac for example we are forced to watch those titles at 540p stable. I have already tried all basic possible solutions like reseting router, changing DNS, double checking internet speed (it's 100mbps solid), double checking to see if my preference is Highest quality, clearing cache, restarting the device. They don't work and like I have mentioned this happens on some titles and does not happen on some; it's 100% related to Netflix side.
How to test this problem for yourself?
Open Netflix on any browser (e.g. Chrome)
Open the film named "Don't Breathe"
Press shift+control+alt+d for windows and shift+control+option+d for macOs, to open streaming info while playing the title
Check "playing bitrate" row: It'll say: 960x540
Wait for hours if you like, it won't change
** Like I've said this is solved only by using Windows Netflix app, but this app is not available on MacOS so we need another solution immediately.
** Some other titles experiencing this problem as example: Amazing Spiderman 1, Amazing Spiderman 2, Venom, The Social Network etc. (even if you pick something at random, it'll probably be problematic.)
** I am well aware that some browsers are capped at 720p, but in this case, titles are stuck "specifically at 540p
... keep reading on reddit β‘I actually didnβt hate it like it did the first two views. On this third viewing I found I actually enjoyed it but I still donβt get it. About two months ago I came out myself but I still donβt understand the dance at the end. I want to experience what many of you have with the feelings you felt after viewing the episode. Help me understand. What am I not getting?
It seems like every "Best mouse for Mac" article on the internet recommends the MX Master 3, so I bought one. I suppose this is the best one, and what a shame that is: this mouse leaves a lot to be desired. It's huge and heavy and the software is awful. On my 14" MacBook Pro, sometime the scroll wheel spontaneously behaves as if CMD is being held, so instead of scrolling it will zoom or shrink the text. Logitech support knows about the issue, hasn't fixed it for months.
The Magic Mouse feels terrible in your hand and the charging port location is ridiculous. And as far as I can tell, that's it! The options beyond that are cheap mice and gaming mice which usually lack Mac configuration software.
How is it possible that no one is making a well-built lightweight mouse with decent buttons and decent software for the Mac?
I received this email recently and would like to find/confirm if anyΒ malware is in my macOS System::
"Hello!
I'm the Chinese software engineer who hacked into your device OS.
I've been watching you for month now. The thing is, you've been infected with malware through the adult website you visited... I have downloaded all confidential information from your system and I got some more evidence.
In case you're not familiar with it, I'll explain.
The virus gives me full access and control over your computer or any other device on your network. It means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on your camera and microphone, but you don't know about it. I also have access to all of your phone and email contacts, as well as access to your social media accounts.
Why didn't your antivirus detect any malware?
Answer: My malware uses a low-level device driver build-in your CPU and I update its signatures every 4 hours to keep your antivirus silent. I made a screen recording of you masturbating.
On one side of the screen is the video you're watching at the moment and on the other side is your satisfied face. With one click, I can send this video to all your contacts.
Do you want to prevent it?
I understand your concern. Especially since the video was quite vulgar, I can't imagine the embarrassment you will feel when your colleagues, friends and relatives see it.
If you need to erase all of your collected data just send 0.015 btc (Bitcoin) to a wallet that was specially generated for your email address.
Yes, it's that simple! My script will detect the transaction to the wallet and will automatically delete all the dirt that was collected on you.
I will give you 48 hours to pay.
Do not try to reply to this email, it makes absolutely no sense (the sender's email address as well as the Bitcoin wallet were generated automatically especially for you and cannot be traced). I don't make mistakes.
If I see that you've shared this message with someone else (for example, it will be open on a different device than yours), the video will instantly start being sent out to your contact list.
Take it easy. Take it as a little life lesson and be more careful in the future.
Do not start 2022 with such shame."
I've been watching and he for the most part looks like a seasoned veteran for all defenses have thrown at him except delayed blitzes or the safety blitzing inside through the middle, he freezes up like a statue when one bursts through and rushes him, no releasing the ball or attempting to scramble, freezing up in the pocket. I really saw this most in the Atlanta game and surprised more aren't doing it. He's only seen it a handful of times this season. When I saw it, I thought "Did he really not see these looks and movements in college or high school and did Saban never teach him?"
I'm surprised more teams aren't dialing those up on him and that it's so rare to see considering he struggled immensely with them. I do think he'll figure it out though, there's only so many times a defense can go to a pressure or blitz package before a QB figures a way to escape it.
Other than that flaw he looks really good and OROY material, cheers all! Happy Holidays!
I know heβs one of the shittest characters in the game, Iβve heard that god knows how many times. But for some reason, I find him more fun than most of the other characters in this game. Even with his shit aerial game and how fragile he is in the air. Maybe because heβs fast, has good kill power andβ¦idk, his combos feel so satisfying when you do land them (unlike Captain Falcon, whose thing is his combos). Is there something wrong with me? Why do I find this garbage character so fun? Should I dump him? I appreciate your answers.
P.S. - Just thought Iβd add: whatβs the point in playing as him when everyone kicks his ass?
Iβve accepted that itβs gone, donβt care about getting it back. If they factory reset the device I couldnβt care less. All Iβm worried about is that they could do some bypass to get into my account and steal data. Is this possible? Iβve seen some articles online saying that you can press a hot key to open up terminal and reset passwords which, if true, is very scary, but that also seems shockingly insecure and I have a hard time believing thatβs real. Apple customer support assured me I was safe but I donβt know if they are full of shit or not.
I remember watching a YouTube video about a Mac app thatβs able to hide menu bar icons at certain times. The example they used was Creative Cloud, and they were able to line it up with an image and hide the icon when it didnβt have the red dot. Anyone know what the video is or the app is called?
Critically its loved but I just thought it was a good frank and Mac episode with an ending that wasn't funny, probably one of the weaker episodes that season. I would like to hear another opinion to see if im missing something.
Feel like it never gets mentioned but its one of my favourite recurring things in the show.
thanks :)
Title :)
Cheers everyone!
I need to use Ozone to debug an nucleo stm32 board but I'm on a mac and don't have the same path to these files in STM32Cube that the windows instructions have. I can't seems to find anything and can't find a way to directly get it from STM? Am I missing something? I'm just trying to follow the system I'm being given but this is causing me problems and I'm not sure what to do.
Edit: It's an STM32F746 if it helps.
