My fish laid eggs. Iβve seen videos of people having to lightly squeeze their fish to help them lay eggs. Do I need to do this? How do I know if they have been fertilized? How many eggs do they usually lay? Iβve never had goldfish lay eggs. Especially two different types of goldfish.

Goldfish started spawning. Fish batch went mouldy so I put the next one in a dish with a heater and air pump, baby brine shrimp. Now I have over 200 and they are all alive. Laid more eggs today. Also please rate my main tank, any advice appreciated (:

Goldfish? Found some of these in my pond with my 1.5 year old goldfish. Are they goldfish babies or fish transferred by egg from Lilly pads I took from another pond.

Goldfish? We brought home a couple of Lilly pads from our cabin and put them in our pond with our goldfish that we bought last year. All of a sudden we have baby fish and donβt know if they are from eggs transferred in on the Lilly pads or are from our goldfish. Can we tell if itβs a goldfish?

Are these goldfish eggs? My goldfish lives alone so I assume infertile. Iβve had this fish since 2013 and s/he has never done this before! I did hear extra splashing last night so I assume thatβs why.

My mate gave me some plants in early May, apparently there were fish eggs attached. He has a few types of fish, thinks they're goldfish, I don't think so. I have 3 of these, this is the biggest/most mature. Thoughts?

goldfish keepers in the Philippines are weird. they mix saki hikari with other fish food in the steam eggs.
they mix 2-3 kinds of fish pellets in the eggs and steam them. they could just use a type that has most vitamins and minerals and just use that. and most of the time vitamins and minerals are lost in steaming.
btw. the other kinds didn't have enough nutritional facts. they're really weird.
edit. i think a mod replied and I can't reply. they add less nutritious pellets. is this normal? for me, it feels like they're degrading the product

We built a pond during lockdown and stocked it with five of the larger fish you see in this video. We also bought plants from a few different locations. We noticed a huge amount of black babies, some changing color. Are these Koi or goldfish? Iβve read fish eggs can be attached to plants.

Baby goldfish in my RCS jar! After noticing my fish had spawned in my 29 gallon outdoor tank, I transfered an egg laden water hyacinth to my only other option, a 2 month old 1.5 gallon RCS jar. 4 days later, baby goldfish are hatching and sticking to the glass. This is gonna tax my sponge filter!

TIL on mythbusters That Adolf Hitler thought it was cruel to put goldfish in a round fish bowl because it gave them no corners to hide in. He then passed a law prohibiting the buying and the use of round fish bowls.

Guys I speak for almost 60% of the community when I say, BRING BACK THE MIDAS FLOPPER. I loved when we could have the excitement of fishing a rare fish like the midas flopper and if there is still the mythic goldfish it would be useless for how rare it is. Please bring back the midas flopper.

Moved into a new house, with goldfish in a garden pond. Never had fish before, looking for some advice?
We are renting, and the landlord has requested that we take care of his fish. I have no issue taking care of them, but I've never had fish before, and the pond looks dirty and sad. It looks like they were once very well taken care of (I can see the remains of what were probably beautiful plants and foilage). I asked him how to care for them, and he said to give them a handful of the pondstick food he provided once a day, and that was it.
There seems to be 5 goldfish, 1 completely black goldfish (same size as the others, is it okay?) And there are also around 7 small black ones that seem to be babies.
How can I make sure they are healthy and happy? Do they need a filter or should I be hand cleaning the pond? Do they need a bubbler? Is my LL's advice about the handful of food a day correct? They stopped eating it and it's just floating around on the surface, so I didn't give them anymore.
Any advice would be appreciated as I have done some googling but I'm still not entirely sure how I can care for them well.
