Is edible bird's nest vegan?

It's pretty common in Chinese/Asian countries. I don't think it is but just want to confirm it with you guys. Anyone has more information about how it's produced?

Edit: Just to clarify the bird's nest I'm talking here is supposed to be the saliva of birds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edible_bird%27s_nest

Edible birds nests.

Hey guys. Just wondering if edible birds nests are typically or can be farmed in an ethical way or not.

I actually just realised I've been accidentally consuming them and I was wondering if I should stop.

When in doubt, I stop, but if somebody could give me some info to better make my decision on that'd be great. Some simple searches on Google are getting me nowhere unsurprisingly, as this is fairly niche.

A tufted titmouse will pull hair from various mammals such as dogs, foxes, and raccoons. The process is called kleptotrichy which literally means 'hair stealing'. The bird uses the hair to line its nest. There is no actual benefit to the mammals, so this relationship can be called parasitic. gfycat.com/quarrelsometem…
