Hello! As the title says, I’m searching for an IC / eco-village that is truly off the grid or close to it and desires to be self-sufficient and sustainable. I’ve seen plenty of popular ones that grow their own veggies using a gasoline powered tractor and petrochemical fertilizers, but none that are truly approaching the goal of a community that could live independently of our modern industrialized system. Curious if anyone knows of any that fit this description (preferably in Southern Appalachia but I’m open to anywhere!)? Thanks in advance!
One thing I've learned about the internet is that there is nothing new under the sun. This means that I doubt this is a new concept and I was wondering if anyone has information about where I can get advice on this concept. Although I have started my own sub to just start gathering ideas and articles that I can use to focus and develop my plan, but I could really use an outside perspective. All of these things come together as a solid starting point to create a non-farming based IC. Now I just need to find the information (that I'm sure someone has collected) to make this possible.
