A list of puns related to "Ducati Multistrada 1200"
Would recommend as a good tourer? Iβve heard they are expensive to fix. And they look a bit lack luster. But good fuel range and plenty of power.
Thereβs a second hand one near me @ Β£7k for 2012 model. Nearly 20k miles though. But I know next to nothing about dukes.

Looking to get away from my triumph street triple and move toward something larger. Planning on doing longer trips and love the idea of Moto camping. If it came down to these two bikes (with no other choices), what are you picking and why.

Selling my 2011 MTS 1200 Touring S model. Great shape, needs nothing but a new owner. Never down, serviced, and all service records. Lots of accessories and add ons. Just don't ride anymore.
Iβm about 600 miles in. The tyres are past it (squared-off and heavily scalloped PR4s, and theyβre the too-stiff-for-for-this-bike (in my opinion) GT versions, so Iβll keep my ride-quality and handling comments to a minimum).
In 100hp βUrbanβ mode it feels clattery and unrefined, unpredictable as to what might happen when I twist the throttle but friendly enough to not really bother about it. Itβs boingy, and the Skyhook suspension doesnβt feel consistent to me, and feels heavy (enough countersteering input to make my wrists ache a bit), and a bit of a pain wobbling around traffic (Iβve commuted for a winter season on an R1100RT, so itβs not weight and width that worries me). Itβs soggy-feeling, while still feeling like every tiny road imperfection is rattling my fillings out while switching back to my VFR800 feels like riding over a silk, eiderdown filled duvet in comparison (itβs on non-GT PR4s).
Under the as-new cover the cat/silencer exhaust flapper valve looks like itβs been at the bottom of the sea for a few years at only 21000 miles. I took it off to pre-emptively bathe it in ACF-50 before it seized up, but soon saw that that particular ship had sailed and was on the return leg full of flaky Lancia steel. The Touring spec heated grips donβt work. I donβt care about what revs the engine is at anymore because 1. It doesnβt matter much, and 2. The LCD tacho isnβt really readable in peripheral vision for me. The improved for 2013 screen is still noisy-buffety in any of the infinitely and easily adjustable positions for me as a 5β10β person with very short legs (if I had normal length legs Iβd be 6β5β. I blame an early smoking habit and childhood trauma). With the standard cat/silencer it mostly sounds like a ride-on lawnmower, and I donβt feel like shelling out Β£1200 for a QD full system to make it sound like a big chested Duke while still keeping my neighbours as friends, or just getting the cheap option of decat/midpipe and standard exhaust, but deafen myself and everybody within a 10 mile radius. What else? Oh, the rubber bits are coming off the key.
But everything else... oh boy. Iβve ridden an R-Nine T, which puts out a similar load of torque in a lovely, silky way, but nothing Iβve ridden punches as stupendously and relentlessly as the Multi in the aggressive throttle map, except maybe Rita at Alton Towers, and that only does it to a frankly pedestrian 65mph. It makes me shoutlaugh to myself in my helmet like a madman every time I just twist

Trying to weight my options,
Pros of 2014 - 1.99% finance, lighter, less expensive, insurance is less expensive, ( less complicated looking ) Unknowns to me ( if the optional lowered seat, will make it feel like the 2015 in the low seat position)
Pros 2015 - cornering headlights, cruscontroll, wheelie control,
cons - more complicated looking / cluttered on the handlebars,
anyway do you think the DVT, cruise control and cornering headlights, and 18k mile interval for valves, is worth the additional 3-4k it cost to get this bike?
I like the way the 2015 feels when you sit on it in the lowered seat position, i do not know what the 2014 feels like in the lower seat position or lower seat.
My precious Marley for sale. Well loved but unused. Looking for new home...
