Dirty sock syndrome - long term
I have dealt with dirty sock syndrome in three different central HVAC heat pump systems (same home,) including currently dealing with it again. Long story short, I am so tired of trying to fix this one that I am considering replacing my 6 month old system coil with a new coated coil which i know will be on my dime.
I am not trained in the sciences but I have read A LOT on the topic and see it affects 0.5-2% of systems and is specific to a home environment. I do not know anyone who has dealt with it so trying to gain some insight by asking Red
Any success stories people can share? I know of many short term fixes (chemicals and cleaners) but not any long term that are consistent.
Has anyone moved and it occurred in their new place? A fear i have since i keep reading it is unique to “my” environment.
Anyone have iaq monitors and see correlation between DSS and VOC levels?
