A list of puns related to "Direct traffic control"
This was almost 10 years ago, but still sticks with me because it was my first major "confrontation" as an "adult".
The scene: I am 21, working for a few weeks before going back to college. I'm barely 5'5" (approx 165cm), wearing a bright blue shirt with CAMP NAME and STAFF in bold white letters on it. I'm probably wearing flip flops because it's summer in California and this wasn't a sports camp. I'm the camp's animation instructor, usually for the slightly older kids (you had to be at least 7 to do the animation section of the camp).
This camp was in Mill Valley, which if you're not from California, is one of the snobbiest parts of Marin County (an area with a lot of rich ppl and ppl racist against folk of Latinx heritage). This camp was not cheap, but also had a handful of lower-income kids (i.e., Latinx kiddos, all of whom were 10000 times sweeter, better behaved than the entitled white kids, but that's a story for another post) who got to attend for free through special funding from their school (not the school the camp was hosted at). So there was always some low level underlying concern those kiddos would be the target of the ire of some rich white ladies.
Normally I was not on "supervise the kids being picked up by parents" duty, as I had expensive equipment and supplies to inventory and lock up, but we were short a staff member that day. My exposure to the parents was minimal; usually I would just be in the classroom, or with the kids at lunch, and then I would leave (I did part time lifeguarding some afternoons). So I had no idea what to expect during the afternoon pickup.
You'd think people who live in this area, near an elementary school that has been there for a few decades, would be used to seeing kids and a lot of traffic during the early afternoons. Apparently not this woman. I think because it was summer she assumed there wouldn't be any children present? Near a public park and a public library with a better-than-average kids section? Anyways.
I'm keeping an eye on some kids playing in the grass, not even paying attention to the cars (since that's, y'know, not my job, my job is to keep the children safe) when this middle aged Karen and her friend approach me. Paraphrasing cuz this was awhile ago, but Karen starts complaining about the traffic and how she had to park aaaaaaaall the way around the block (not even a 3 minute walk from the school entrance, my mom used to work there and the school is very accessible). ... keep reading on reddit β‘I guess a follow up question would be, if so do the pilots need to request for landing and take off from the hospital or is that the job of the ATC at an airport?
Hi all, this morning my brother was pulled over by a police officer. The police officer stated that he pulled him over because he did not stop for βlong enoughβ at a stop sign.
The officer agreed that my brother had come to a complete stop, but that it wasnβt a long enough pause. He told my brother he would do him a favour and put the violation down as βfail to obey traffic control deviceβ which held a lesser fine ($243).
My brother is newly in the country from the UK, and so just accepted this and called me later to tell me about it.
Can he fight this in court? I didnβt realize you had to count to a certain amount of seconds during your stop. Or should he consider himself lucky that he didnβt get a bigger fine?
This was in Banff BTW. Any advice appreciated! Thanks.
I think itβs pretty ridiculous how sensitive people are about weight, yet they refuse to acknowledge itβs directly in their control... Iβm not βfatphobicβ or anything of the sort, I just realized this is a common trend.
JN is getting this traffic control-themed suit as boutique packs!
It costs $3-4 USD for the original, and $5-6 USD for both the original and recolor.
This suit comes with posed top.
My blog is getting decent traffic these days. When I check analytics, I am seeing about 80% of my traffic coming from Direct, followed by Organic Search, then Referral and Social.
One of my friends is saying that something is wrong having that much direct traffic and basically discounts it as real traffic.
Sure, I know some is bots and such, but I also know that some direct traffic can be attributed to search traffic.
Anyone else have a majority of traffic coming from Direct?
My blog has been live for 12 years, but was dormant for several years until I got back into the swing of things about a year ago.
Hello! So in my reports there's a lot of Direct/None, which I suspect is in reality organic traffic from google.
Im techically receiving more organic traffic from Bing and ecosia than from google, whilst most of my traffic appears as direct/none.
What could be causing this? Any ideas?
