A list of puns related to "Deep South Wrestling"
I canβt find any information about this online, but does anyone else remember the documentary about DSW from (I think) 2007? Iβm pretty sure it aired in the U.K. on Fight TV, it starred Bill Demott, Angelina Love, Brian Myers among others? I believe it focused heavily on Daniel Rodimer aswell.
If anyone has a link to it or knows where I could watch it, Iβd be forever grateful ππΌ
Instead of continuing to hate watch something week after week, such as the WWE, you can replace that with any of the dozens of promotions out there. You're probably already into AEW, but there is still a lot out there. And if neither of those do it for you, try branching out and trying something new. There's a lot out there and if you're feeling like you've lost interest in wrestling, perhaps all you need to do is check something new out
By Deep South, I mean the Carolinas to East Texas.
The Deep South has sort of a reputation for deadly wildlife, such as alligators, crocodiles (in South FL), sharks, black bears, cougars/panthers (FL, and maybe LA), snapping turtles, alligator gar, feral pigs, venomous snakes, box jellyfish, various venomous and aggressive fish, disease carrying bugs, among others.
So Iβm interested, for people who live in the Deep South, what wild animal found in another part of the country terrifies you?
I lived in McDonough GA during the DSW era and attended the show almost every week. These are some things I remember about it.
*The first show I went to was their second show. There were maybe 50 people there. The crowd was pretty quiet, I guess still adjusting to who these wrestlers were, who was good and evil, and not quite comfortable yelling at strangers in tights around other strangers. It was a relatively small building (part of a sortuv strip of other stores. A dollar store, a salon, a restaurant, a tattoo parlor, etc) but clean and nice.
*At the first show I went to, Kid Kash wrestled as a heel, but me being the internet mark that I was, applauded and cheered him and told him what a great match that was. Remember, this was a zero energy crowd, still finding itself as a wrestling audience, so I was the loudest one in the room. Kash then told me to shut up and called me a mean name (or something) and as I sat back down dejected, a few members of the audience came to my defense and called him mean names in return and booed him. (I like to think I helped Kash get a little over that night, if I may.)
*Kane headlined one of the earlier shows which brought in a better crowd, and quickly they ended up having to turn people away at the door. It became a huge event in small town Georgia on Thursdays.
*Eventually, the Miz became the top babyface. A very bloated looking Dolph Ziggler was a big fan favorite. Mike Knox (and his tag partner I can't remember), and Gyemini were top heels. Toward the later end, Kofi Kingstone, Zack Ryder (and his partner I cant remember) became favorite.
*When the Great Kahli debuted, the whole place was in shock. All he did was stand at the ramp and look scary, and scared the audience was. My friends and I sat near the entrance so we could yell at the wrestlers as they walked out, and my girlfriend was squeezing my arm because she was legitimately afraid of how big this human being is.
*One night they closed the show with a really dark angle (or at least as dark as DSW got) where top heels Gyemini left a babyface (I cant remember who. So much for the 'memories' portion of this rant) lying in the ring bleeding after they smashed his head in with a VCR. The crowd just all silently got up and left after the ring announcer said the show was over. Somehow it was weirdly awkward. But well booked.
*Bill Demott did commentary when they started taping for TV. He never looked like he was in a good mood, and I'm sure he HATED th
... keep reading on reddit β‘According to some on SCJerk, I'm a moron for thinking that. This was in relation to Lacey Evans ftr (someone I don't have strong feelings about). What do you all think?
The south is such an interesting setting for paranormal stories, true or fictional, would love some recommendations :)
