Watching some film of the Titans defense against the Eagles in 2018 to get an idea of the types of schemes Dean Pees is gonna throw at Hurts and this offense. Here are some tendencies I'm picking up one quarter in and how I'd scheme protections & run blocking on Sunday
  • 1st Down
    • Against formations with an obvious run strength, Pees played different variations of C3 with a traditional Over front. When the run strength wasn't as clear, Pees played a 2-high shell (think C4) and tried to protect his LBs vs. RPOs and PA through tactics such as tilting the nose and blitzing the slot CB away from the passing strength.
    • Watch for Fire Zone. When run strength defined: Pees will likely blitz one hook defender and replace with the other over the MOF to force the QB to throw into coverage on 2x2 RPOs, and he will likely blitz the field CB when expecting bootleg PAs from condensed formations. When run strength murky but clearly defined passing strength (i.e. 4x1 Gun): expect disguised C3 slot blitz from passing strength, freeing up weak Apex defender to play any run.
      • Need to call at least least one bread-and-butter rollout PA that beats C3 on the opening drive before Pees has ability to counter it with blitz.
      • Layer RPOs off rollout PA actions (split zone RPOs come to mind).
      • Have two-man route combos on RPOs that key dropping hook defenders from 2x2.
      • Have some RPOs that key the nickel DB from 3x1.
      • Counter any tilt nose with influence whams and traps, with perhaps some midline option mixed in. Add in some pre-snap motion and you could easily tag midline options with screens to exploit any numbers advantages on the perimeter if in 2-high especially,
  • 2nd & 7-10
    • When PA is possibility because of formation and field position (i.e. midfield), C3 with Over front and Tilt nose called to protect LBs vs. PA while ensuring front is gapped out vs. any possible run. This can also have the benefit of forcing a half-slide away from the 3T or BoB protection.
      • Dictate gap responsibilities of the DTs in the run game with RB alignment and adjust pass protections accordingly. Do not allow DTs to have 2-way go as pass rushers.
      • Utilize TE shift to force defense to reset front and make a less stout 3T play the tilt nose and handle a double, while having slower NT as 1-gap run player without 2-way go as pass rusher.
    • When PA is not a possibility (i.e. backed up in own territory with minimal gain on 1st down), 2-high shell presnap. (Additionally, vs. 3x1 with condensed/reduced splits, Cover 6 w/ C2 to the boundary and C4 Zeke to the field to handle condensed #2/#3 was called.)
      • Playcall: From 3x1 with #2/#3 strong condensed, Post/Drive/Dig wi

Alan Dean Foster reveals that he was told to remove Finn & Rey's romance from the TFA novel and called TLJ "A terrible film" and "A terrible Star Wars Movie".

Oh, I love good tea and Alan Dean Foster spills the best tea:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens novelization author Alan Dean Foster says there was "obviously the beginnings of a relationship" between Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) that failed to materialize over the Star Wars sequel trilogy β€” and a hint at that relationship was removed from his novel. The author of the original Star Wars novelization and sequel novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye, Foster agreed to write the novel adaptation of filmmaker J.J. Abrams' franchise revival The Force Awakens. When he attempted to water seeds that were planted for an eventual Finn-Rey romance, Foster says he was forced to remove a scene relating to the blossoming relationship:

"I did my usual thing when I do these adaptations of trying to fix things that I think need fixing in the story and fixing in the science. Not so much with the characters, because the characters are fairly well-established in a screenplay," Foster told Midnight's Edge. "Some things they said to take out, and some things they left alone. Some of the things they said to take out I thought were silly and would really have improved the book if I had been able to leave them in the book, but I can't talk about those."

"There were a couple of things in there, and a couple of things that happened subsequently that bothered me. I'm going to tell you one thing they made me take out because enough time has passed, I don't think it matters," Foster said, adding only that there was "obviously the beginnings of a relationship" between Finn and Rey.

"I expected to see that developed further in Episode VIII [The Last Jedi]," Foster said. "And zero happened with it. And we all know why zero happened with it β€” and there's no need to go into it in-depth β€” but that's, sadly, just the way things are."

But Finn and Rey spend much of The Last Jedi separated, and Finn is linked romantically to franchise newcomer Rose (Kelly Marie Tran). Foster reveals he attempted to retcon the Rian Johnson-directed middle chapter with an unused treatment for Episode IX, calling The Last Jedi a "terrible film" and "a terrible Star Wars movie.

Repo Man (1984) the directorial debut of Alex Cox, a pitch dark SF comedy featuring Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton holds up decades later as one of the best and most influential independent films of the 1980s

With its SF elements, satire of politics and consumer culture, fringe characters and memorable dialog, Repo Man would make a great double feature with John Carpenter's They Live which came out 4 years later. Probably Emilio Estevez's best role in movies, and certainly a top tier effort in the filmography of the great Harry Dean Stanton. The film, which was produced by Monkees star Michael Nesmith, had a very limited release, initially playing only in L.A. and Chicago, but thanks to word of mouth rep. and the popularity of its L.A. punk rock soundtrack it went on to play in NYC and beyond becoming one of the best known and regarded cult/independent films of the 1980s. Any fans here?
