Overall it hasn't been a good decade for Labour. We were stumbling for years after getting voted out in 2010. We failed to turn it around in 2015, 2017 gave us some hope but 2019 completely smashed it. And instead of gaining ground we've been losing it. We lost Scotland even even the Red Wall.
I've heard a lot of voices saying that this slide for Labour started from 2010 when Ed Miliband became leader. In that leadership race the party membership had actually voted for his brother David but the Unions backed Ed and he won only with their support. What if David had won then? Ed's problem was a lot of people thought he was awkward or just weird(unfairly). David looked a lot better in media.
Would Labour have won the 2015 election under David Miliband? A lot of people have told me that. If it did wouldn't the last few years have been very different? No Brexit, a rollback of austerity etc.
