A list of puns related to "Dan Carlin"
I actually listened to all of his Hardcore History and 20-30 episodes of Common Sense before I even saw what he looked like somehow but I'm watching his episode on Lex Fridman's podcast and I am not shocked at all lol. That is not any kind of insult or anything, I'm more shocked that I'm not shocked. I listen to No Dumb Questions also and had no idea what Matt Whitman on there looked like but he honestly sounded pretty nerdy and dorky and maybe he is but if someone told me he was a white nationalist I would have believed you lol (no offense Matt I love you and your show too ha, don't change anything!). I tend to try out a lot of podcasts and audiobooks and then if I like them I'll look up more about the host.
Does any one have either other hosts who look exactly like how they sound or the other way around and have people that you are totally shocked to see what they looked like?
...will he call the 100 days war "putting the Humpty Dumpty back together"?
Iβve been binge listening The Pirate History Podcast (Spotify link) and thinking I should post this recommendation to yβall when suddenly in episode 83 the host Matt Alberβs suggested Dan Carlinβs episode on a 1530s second coming of Jesus cult in Muenster. I felt obligated. I hope you enjoy.
This guy has got so many podcasts with different names, length, and subject matter. Where does one begin? I'd like to hear a complete series or story, and am happy to support his efforts monetarily, but want to get a free preview to see if I enjoy his style. Thanks!
His delivery and the knowledge of the subject matter is unmatched by anything Iβve ever heard. Iβve listened them all multiple times but want more.
Iβve been trying to find a clip or the episode he did a classic Dan Carlin impression for a week now and cannot find it. If anyone remembers what episode or has a clip I would appreciate it...!
Do you get an RSS feed to put into your podcast player? Iβm using pocket casts btw.
Thanks.
Is it because I am British and they don't actually sound the same?
Is it because they would have had radio/media training around the same time?
Is it because Dan Carlin has been found out to be a bastard and this news passed me by?
Hey everyone! I have a quick question: Does anyone know who the man in Danβs Twitter banner is? Its the yellow image behind his profile picture. Looks a bit like Rasputin, but I donβt think thats who it is. Thanks!
Ok I know that Dan was once a radio host and then moved onto podcasting. My question is, does/did Dan do anything else to supplement his income stream? Or is it all strictly podcasting? Is that the entirety of his career? Does he make enough through his podcast sales to make a living? Does he have a day job?
I started learning about stoicism at the start of the pandemic. I needed a philosophy to calm my mind and stoicism appealed to me. I'm trying to become a better stoic but I have my rough patches for sure.
One thing I can't seem to process is torture, specifically being broken on the wheel and to a lesser degree, impalement. There are so many horrific means of torture and execution, but due to their duration and pain level these two seem to be the worst.
I listened to the podcast episode roughly six months ago and it still bothers me. For the first three weeks or so after hearing the podcast I couldn't really get it out of my mind. I wasn't thinking about it all day everyday, but I certainly tried to process it and I just couldn't. I don't obsess over it anymore, but I still have a hard time accepting the notion that people were so cruel to each other.
I love it. I tell tons of people about Dan now. I never knew history could be so fascinating and entertaining to learn.
I have the podcast app on my iPhone and thatβs where I found the hardcore history page. If I remember correctly, not all of his podcasts are listed there, for whatever reason some get added and taken off at different times right?
Anyway, for pure entertainment and fascination purposes, what would you recommend comes next on his podcast that is currently available to me in the podcast app?
Edit: So in the podcast app, it only shows 12 episodes? Anyone know why all the others are missing? I see supernova in the East and Iβve downloaded that but all the others mentioned in here are not there. I use an iPhone and the podcast app. What am I doing wrong?
The first Dan Carlin Podcast I heard was Blueprint for Armageddon. Needles to say, I was completely blown away by, what I believe to be, the best narration I have ever heard. I have always been enamored with the stories of the soldiers on the ground. Big picture sand table narratives, by long winded generals, was never my cup of tea, and it often bored me to tears. After hearing Blueprint, I thought to myself, βSurely this is his best work, itβs all downhill from here,β but I was pleasantly surprised by how the quality of his podcasts never drops. They have all been amazing, even his earliest works. So, which Dan Carlin Podcast got you hooked ??
Although i dont actively play it, i love hearing about the Warhammer 40k lore and everytime i listen to a Hardcore History ep, i just long for a Carlin-narrated 40k series.
I know its unrealistic to consider it evber happening, but the idea is interesting enough to ask you folks your opinions.
What fictional lore or story would you love to see Carlin narrate through. I'm aware he is a tolkein buff, so hearing him do the Silmarillion in Hardcore History style, would be incredible too.
Hey guys so Iβm pretty new to this community and Dan in general. Just wondering if Dan has ever gone on record with his opinions on the subject of determinism/compatibilism/free will and how that may influence his approach to history/politics.
So I recommend signing up for patreon (a buck a show) to get it

Iβm very interested in this era and this conflict. I was wondering if Dan has ever done a podcast covering the war of the roses, if not does anyone know of a good source that can explain the nuances and complexity of the alliances? This would be a hardcore history I would really enjoy listening to.
